It easily zonks onto the map for easy measurements. The only thing that I have not figured out is how to get it on my Apple Watch. Someone please help me with this. ### 4/5 — Love this app - haven’t figured out storage *2022-09-25* I’ve been using this app for more than a year, and agree that it’s hands down the most convenient route planner I’ve ever found - great when traveling. The only issue I haven’t entirely sorted out is why previous routes cannot be permanently stored to the phone. There’s an offline mode that should work, but I still find that every time I open the app, it has to download previous routes. This is a particular issue when I’m traveling without cell/wifi access, and routes I’ve created in advance are often unavailable - have folks found any solutions for this? ### 4/5 — Hidden gem *2022-08-26, version 4.7.2* This is an app that does just one thing, but does it very well. It let’s you create GPX-routes by simply tapping on a map. I’ve been using it for a couple years. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Well thought out and executed. ### 5/5 — Excellent for creating bike routes *2020-01-01, version 4.1.0* I’ve been using this for a few weeks creating routes for my Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt. It quickly creates interesting and generally safe routes with just a few clicks. The created routes are easy imported into the ELEMNT using .gpx file format, but many other export options are available. I’ve also included a mix of road and trail to make interesting routes for a cyclecross bike. Easy Route has somehow created interesting new versions of my regular boring local routes. Very pleased with this utility! Thanks! ### 5/5 — Garmin user *2019-12-01* Great app. Really easy to generate routes. Follows logical routes. Then just export it to the Garmin. Much easier to use than the Garmin app which seems to need points at every turn. ### 5/5 — The best route creation app for sports activities *2019-11-13, version 4.0.1* The new iOS/iPadOS ruined this app, but at last Apple have fixed their awful Share Sheet so I can get data in and out again. Its an absolutely excellent app for creating training routes, which can then be exported to a training device, such as Wahoo or Garmin, with ease (by Open-In to their apps). In fact its also possible to import a route from another app, then to easily modify it for sending back or to another device. The app supports street view, so you can take a look at any points on the route you want, and it shows elevation data too. Its far better than the usual website route creation features. ### 2/5 — IOS 13 ruined this great app *2019-10-19, version 3.4.0* Downloaded this app as heard great things, and after upgrading to new Garmin Fenix 6s Pro. It was seamless for a while, and then with the new IOS release, all of a sudden the app is unable to share routes to Garmin Connect. However, in the past weeks it has become utterly useless, constantly crashing, freezing etc…..it has become unworkable. Have tried all the usual fixes for this but sadly to no avail. So for now I would recommend people to stay away. ### 1/5 — Meh *2022-12-22, version 5.0.1* It was just very good, simple and easy. Then the owner decided to gain some more money removing basics features like topographic countours and all the trails from the free map. GC is a notoriously fickle app so I’m not blaming this app but if you can’t get the route onto a GPS then it has limited value. ### 1/5 — Used to work *2018-07-16, version 2.10.0* Easy route used to work brilliantly for a free app however since changing the mapping it’s really a nightmare to map out a route from point to point. Tried turning off my iPhone and restarting to see if that would fix but no luck. As soon as I click the first location after the start point it crashes every time. It finds my current location fine so not sure what’s causing this. I see this is a new version just released so maybe we need another version. I’m on a 7 plus. I’ll try it on my iPad, but I need it on my iPhone for it to be useful during bike rides. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — More than it looks *2023-08-24, version 5.3.2* Creating a route on iPhone or M1 Mac and navigating on Watch works great. Offline maps mean I actually use the app as a general purpose map as well as routing. Bonus points for using Valhalla as the routing engine - the cycling routes this app generates come extremely close to CycleStreets, which here in the UK is the gold standard. ### 5/5 — Awesome Routing App *2022-03-27, version 4.7.2* This app is great! There is really no need to pay for this one as I do not find the advertising on the free version intrusive. However, after using this app all the time for over a year I felt it was only fair that I should pay, not because I particularly wanted the premium version but because I so frequently used the free version! Its just simple to quickly plot a route, work out the distance and, if required, upload the route to my Garmin Forerunner 945. It just makes route so easy. Thank you very much for making something which I do a lot just so much simpler! The only suggestion I would make would be that it would make more sense for the last route you planned to be at the top of your saved route list. After a year there is a lot of scrolling to get to the last route saved! Only a small point. ### 5/5 — Brilliant app *2020-09-09, version 4.3.1* Just downloaded for my runs. Countryside so need something which would let me plot routes which go through unofficial public walks (fields etc). This does that! You can also automatically plot along footpaths & roads - easy to flick this function on & off. As soon as you’ve plotted you get a range of data such as distance etc. Really impressed & just paid for the premium. Not sure what it does, but noticed it’s a small team developing this, so £2 is well worth it as a thank you! I haven’t used OS maps etc, but they come with a large price tag. Not sure if they offer more than what this app provides. anyhow this is perfect for me & thanks! ### 5/5 — Perfect app *2020-07-16, version 4.3.0* Folders are finally here! A great app which continues to improve and listen to users. Highly recommend. I have used this for while now - and it is a perfect little app for planning routes. Easy interface, exports simply to a Garmin watch as a gpx, so you have a route quickly to follow. It has also improved over the years - many small tracks, remote paths are visible now (eg Snowdonia). Excellent overall - use it all the time for trail running or planning longer routes. Ps - one small suggestion - I have so many routes now - would love to see folders on the main view to group routes together. ### 5/5 — Perfect for planning a route *2020-06-26* I wear a Garmin watch and travel a lot. This app has opened up new courses that I can try out and run by plotting a course, exporting the .gpx file and putting it on my watch. Super easy and intuitive. It lets me go on nonroad trails though. That’s OK for me. I normally run on the road anyways.
