I prefer to run trails over roads. So, getting basic info like distance traveled and elevation changes really requires a GPS tracker. I chose this app because it's one of the few compatible with the older iPhone 5 (IOS v7) that I carry while running for music. It didn't give me any hassles maintaining GPS lock despite the rugged National Park terrain. The data, map, and charts tracked accurate. The info displays in an engineer style dashboard, which I like more than my fitbit hr data presentation. BTW, much more accurate distance tracking than my fitbit. I give it a low 4 star for doing a good job at basic GPS tracking, and legacy IOS compatibility. I might have rated higher, but it turns out this 'LITE' version is actually a 1-time use, 20 minute max DEMO. So, it didn't even track half of my run. LITE means a low-feature version of the full feature product, not 20 minute, 1-time use of the full feature product. Despite feeling a bit misled over the 'LITE' label, I like it enough to buy the full feature version. Hope that version doesn't have another unexpected limitation.

This is in regards to full unlocked version on my other device:

EasyTrails is a great program, though I have noticed that once the program acquires a GPS signal and starts recording a track, if it losses GPS signal it will stop recording data from then on rather then trying to require signal and continuing. For example my 10hr recording only had the first 2 hours and then stopped recording data even though it said it was still recording the track. If this is a battery saving feature then it would at least be appreciated for there to be the option for the app to keep seeking GPS and resume recording data for the track as soon as it can instead of giving up.

I haven't been out gold panning with this app yet but, I can see that it will work very well for me. I will probably upgrade after I strike the mother load this afternoon. Oh Ya!

Ich finde die neue Oberfläche sehr gut,da man alles im Blick hat. Die Statistiken sind sehr übersichtlich und informativ. Auch die große Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Maps ist toll. Allerdings vermisse ich,daß man Kartenausschnitte für die Offlinebenutzung herunterladen kann. Das ist vor allem für die Verwendung im Ausland (Roaminggebühren!!!) extrem wichtig. Wenn das mit dem nächsten Update kommt gibt es mehr Sterne

Lite ver has a very short limit on rec of tracks. Really, like 1 km or smth... I know it's free
If you test before purchase - download. If u want just use free one - u won't get much of free ver.

I installed this light version to try it out before paying for the full version, but it is impossible to use. It claims to allow u to save 1 track. However, it comes with a saved demo track, which respirate every time it is deleted, effectively not allowing you to save as single track. It also only let's you log a very short trail, which is silly on it's own but also means u can never look at your track because it won't save over the demo track!

Je teste avec un repère d'altitude connu dans ma commune (qui est à 77 mètres), il m'indique 22  mètres!!!! (et pourtant le signal gps est au maxi), je fait un petit trajet que j'enregistre et là !!!! que des erreurs sur le parcours, l'altitude (quand je monte il m'indique une altitude en descente!), pire il m'indique une vitesse maxi de 88 km/h alors que je suis à pied.

Aucun interêt si ce n'est pas relativement fiable)

First of all to the dingbats complaining about the time limit...the purpose of a "Lite" version of any app is for you to TRY IT OUT before you buy it. Of course they have to a put a limit on it somehow so you can see how it works and if you like it BUY IT. "Lite" is the app store's version of a demo, dummies.

Anyway...as far as the EasyTrails app goes it does a great job of recording your gps track. Easy to export via email and use elsewhere. I was interested in it because it can load the map in the background. However, it moves a bit clunky...I wish it had a smoother motion as it traced your track. The design also has room for improvement. If these are worked out it could be a 5 star app easy. For now, it's a 3.

Une version lite avec des fonctions trop limitées pour être testées. 
Ça aurait été mieux d’avoir des fonctions complètes pendant 15 ou 30 jours, quitte  à tout brider ensuite comme c’est déjà le cas là : 
- enregistrement d’une seule trace limitée à quelques minutes...

I have my appleid location in japan. Phone settings in language and location are japan. Yet the app is in gibberish spanish. I couldnt find an option to change it. I dont even have spanish settings or keyboards in my iphone.
Its useless.

habe gut 2 stunden aufgezeichnet. es wurden weder geschwindigkeit noch die strecke aufgezeichnet! nur die aufnahme zeit. da hätte ich auch eine stopuhr verwenden können. Und ja gps ist an+verfügbar und ortungsdienst für die lausige app wurde auch freigegeben. auch nach einem test mit 100m laufen gleiches ergebnis... wird wieder gelöscht...

Nice app, great functionality, great interface, but can only store one track and records for limited time (<30 min). I could not even complete a test because it ran out of time & didn't save the data!  Please state differences between Lite & paid version clearely!

It was installed successfully, but when I try to open it, it closes in the splash screen for no apparent reason and with no message. It seems to be a really good program, but unfortunately I couldn't even try it. Hope to find a way to fix it. Maybe you reading this know something. Please apple, reply my inquiry. Thank you!

In spite of being in the SF Bay area with pretty good cell coverage, it never gets past the "searching location" screen.  Looking for something better.

Like others, I'm complaining that the limited time is too short. I can't evaluate it since it won't record my 30 min bike ride. Since I can't evaluate, I won't buy the full product. Going to try others instead.

Fantastic programme for everything I do. From walking, cycling to flying my Microlight. Great chart info for everything from speed to elevation. Save and fill log books in from data.

I've downloaded almost all the free apps comperable to this one.  I got some amazingly incorrect feedback from several of them, including my first 2.2 minute mile whilst strolling... This was not only the easiest to use, but also the most accurate.  Am buying full version right after I hit send.
