It’s very easy to use, and very fast, but there are a couple major bugs that really make it unusable. First bug is that sometimes, each key on the keyboard produces four keystrokes. For example, I type J, and the app types JJJJ. I must force swipe away whichever app I am in to get the keyboard to reset. Second bug is that it’s impossible to type a word that’s not in the dictionary. The keyboard will AutoCorrect whatever I type, then I go back and fix it, and they keyboard will AutoCorrect it again. There is literally no way to type in a unusual name, acronym, or similar things that don’t exist in the autocorrect dictionary. It's quite sad that this attractive app couldn't be a little more polished. ### 1/5 — No Swipe = no go *2026-01-31, version 1.8.1* Almost perfect but lack of swipe is a big deal killer. ### 5/5 — V. User Friendly *2026-01-11, version 1.8.1* Offers: -Does not require full access -If full access is provided, EasyType’s privacy policy states they do not collect keystrokes, texts, or data derived from texts. -Theme creation & selection -Specified cursor movement -Option to disable auto-correct while keeping predictive text -Number display options -Settings similar to apple keyboard -Option to disable automation navigation Criticisms: -Space bar does not switch symbols keyboard to letters keyboard -Space bar usage needs to be more intentional for user -Does not enable text replacements -Does not offer font selection -Does not offer swipe text ### 5/5 — Excellent for secondary characters *2025-12-22, version 1.8.1* Have been looking for something like this for a while, since Reboard stopped working. Easytype works beautifully with iOS 26.2. Every key has a second character easily typed by swiping up, making it quick once you learn where the characters are. Also, if you turn off predictions the top line of the keyboard disappears leaving more visible phone screen area. A bonus is that Easytype works without requiring full access. Swipe down for capitals and the ability to customise where the secondary characters are would be great additions, but as a keyboard for quick and easy typing this is already great. ### 1/5 — upgrade *2025-12-10, version 1.8.1* since I upgraded to the latest OS this app does not work properly. I have found it useful but had to delete it. So i dont think these will be resolved. But ive kept using it, and theres no other app like this, so.
