### 4/5 — Perfect, exactly what i was looking for, but it has bugs. (and kinda outdated.)

*2024-11-26, version 1.8.1*

Sometimes it locks up and crashes, to fix it you'll need to turn full access on and off. But the developers stop updating this app for some reason. So i dont think these will be resolved. But ive kept using it, and theres no other app like this, so. You get what you get 🤷‍♂️

### 4/5 — Great alternative for old samsung users

*2024-10-13, version 1.8.1*

Cant use it to write this review though lol... Idk why

### 4/5 — Swipe to text not available

*2024-08-05, version 1.8.1*

This would be the perfect keyboard if it had swipe to text. I've spent hours and days trying to find the right keyboard but I still can't find it

### 4/5 — Perfect, exactly what i was looking for, but one bug.

*2024-03-20*

Yeah, its good, simple.. but its starting to crash every time i try to use it, so i’m giving it four stars.

### 4/5 — I love the app

*2023-10-23, version 1.8.1*

I love the app, but if I had the option to type by swiping, it would be perfect!!

### 4/5 — Very unique features but one big downside

*2023-08-05, version 1.8.1*

I have been using gboard for the longest time sick of the bugs that came with it. And i found this keyboard that gives me more characters with minimal space. This keyboard solve a few other problems as well. Great cursor move function, fun delete option and a few other items.

But one glaring flaw. It does not use the built in text replacement functions found in iOS settings. I have a lot if then and it is important to be able to have this feature. Unfortunately all the other items were not enough to want me to continue to use this and have found another.

### 3/5 — The design is so cool but couple things not so good

*2021-09-25*

I really like the design. I have been looking for such a keyboard for a long time. It fits all my needs in terms of design. I really like
1. The alternative symbols
2. Swipe to switch to numbers or emojis

This would be my ideal keyboard if auto correction and prediction are better.
1. Auto correction just doesn't work on me. It doesn't seem to correct anything no matter what I type.
2. Prediction isn't very well either. It has some prediction, but it doesn't have the words I want most of the time. Other keyboards like the built-in one and gboard are much better.

I really looking forward to using it once the above issues are fixed.

### 3/5 — Where'd My Microphone Go?

*2021-03-12, version 1.8.1*

I thought I really liked this keyboard - more like my previous Samsung / Android
Until I had no way to dictate. So boo.
And the word guesses are poor so far, probably because the developer is in Slovakia

### 4/5 — No Persian language😬😠

*2020-04-20, version 1.6.1*

Its great but please add persian language🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

### 4/5 — Almost there...

*2020-01-02, version 1.6.1*

If you added swipe-to-text support and one handed mode, this would be my go to. I like the added functionality of swipe up to use numbers and symbols. Good productivity keyboard, just lacking those 2 things.

### 4/5 — Great stock alternative

*2018-10-22, version 1.5*

This keyboard pretty much is the same as the stock keyboard but with some key changes which make it easier to use. The addition of 3D touch on letters to have symbols inserted is something Apple should have done from the start. The smooth animations when scrolling between the emoji panel as well as the secondary keyboard are also a nice touch. The cursor movement while does not have the full trackpad functionality like the stock keyboard, does allow you to be very precise. It is also one of the few keyboard applications which looks decent with the bottom notch on the iPhone X with the default translucent theme. Things which this keyboard could add would be the new emoji for people who enjoy those, better predictions and auto-correction (I still find the stock keyboard to win here) as well as variations on the translucent theme to give the user more customization.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Swipe = no go

*2026-01-31, version 1.8.1*

Almost perfect but lack of swipe is a big deal killer.

### 1/5 — upgrade

*2025-12-10, version 1.8.1*

since I upgraded to the latest OS this app does not work properly. I have found it useful but had to delete it. It is no longer reliable.

### 1/5 — Why is this on the iPad app store?

*2024-05-23*

It won't work on iPad so why is it listed here?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t actually work

*2024-04-29, version 1.8.1*

Stopped autocorrecting in the third sentence then locked up altogether. Not a great start. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Will not swipe

*2022-10-11, version 1.8.1*

It seems pretty hard to find a keyboard that will swipe.

### 2/5 — Excellent concept but bugs make it unusable

*2026-07-07, version 1.8.1*

it’s a wonderful concept, a keyboard was iPad-like flick keys that allow easy access to punctuation and numbers. It’s very easy to use, and very fast, but there are a couple major bugs that really make it unusable.

First bug is that sometimes, each key on the keyboard produces four keystrokes. For example, I type J, and the app types JJJJ. I must force swipe away whichever app I am in to get the keyboard to reset.

Second bug is that it’s impossible to type a word that’s not in the dictionary. The keyboard will AutoCorrect whatever I type, then I go back and fix it, and they keyboard will AutoCorrect it again. There is literally no way to type in a unusual name, acronym, or similar things that don’t exist in the autocorrect dictionary.

It's quite sad that this attractive app couldn't be a little more polished.

### 2/5 — Has some irritating quirks that could be dealbreakers

*2023-06-15, version 1.8.1*

Basically PERFECT - exactly what a Samsung user needs to think an iPhone is worth the hassle. However there is a frustrating bug where the autocorrect will double up words, add hyphens and extra letters, and basically make the keyboard unusable without great frustration. It also sometimes gets 'stuck' so a single tap will add multiple letters. Exiting the text box or page will sometimes fix it but not always. Other than this quirk, I very much enjoy this app and it has made using the iPhone easier for me after being a Samsung user for 13 years.

### 2/5 — An important note that will bring you many fans

*2021-04-20, version 1.8.1*

We need language Arabic please please

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2020-06-28, version 1.6.1*

Not alot of themes to choose from and when I try to customize my own it doesn't take... Don't think I'll be keeping this app!

### 3/5 — Good Keyboard but No Swipe Function

*2021-10-21, version 1.8.1*

This is nice, neat and functional keyboard but it has no swipe facility. That was all I wanted. Maybe it’s me but I find it strange that modern keyboard has no swipe function.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — V. User Friendly

*2026-01-11, version 1.8.1*

Offers:
-Does not require full access
-If full access is provided, EasyType’s privacy policy states they do not collect keystrokes, texts, or data derived from texts.
-Theme creation & selection
-Specified cursor movement
-Option to disable auto-correct while keeping predictive text
-Number display options
-Settings similar to apple keyboard
-Option to disable automation navigation

Criticisms:
-Space bar does not switch symbols keyboard to letters keyboard
-Space bar usage needs to be more intentional for user
-Does not enable text replacements
-Does not offer font selection
-Does not offer swipe text

### 5/5 — Excellent for secondary characters

*2025-12-22, version 1.8.1*

Have been looking for something like this for a while, since Reboard stopped working. Easytype works beautifully with iOS 26.2.

Every key has a second character easily typed by swiping up, making it quick once you learn where the characters are. Also, if you turn off predictions the top line of the keyboard disappears leaving more visible phone screen area.

A bonus is that Easytype works without requiring full access.

Swipe down for capitals and the ability to customise where the secondary characters are would be great additions, but as a keyboard for quick and easy typing this is already great.

### 5/5 — :)

*2025-04-26, version 1.8.1*

мне очень понравилось это приложения

### 5/5 — Serious speed increase over standard

*2023-06-14, version 1.8.1*

This keyboard with its symbol or numeric additional second character on each key (just like conventional PC keyboard) makes text with even just occasional symbols in it so much faster and convenient to type. Access second symbol by long press or swipe up like on iPad keyboard. Spell check also good as you can tap to go back to text already typed and get spell check/correct on previously typed text. Enough emojis and themes to keep most people happy, but that's not something I personally change often. Found my theme and stick with it. Then best kept to last - proper numeric keyboards! Choice of calculator or telephone style (123 at bottom or top that is) Plus 100 % safe as iPhone always switches back to their own iOS keyboard automatically for passwords or PIN typing. Best keyboard I've found, and used it on all all my phones since 2018. Even bought an additional minimalist theme.
Still using it in 2023 and now set to swipe down to match ipad keyboard alternative keys

### 5/5 — Great customer service

*2021-01-06, version 1.7*

I downloaded this app yesterday and noticed the keyboard had an issue where it didn't fit the screen on my 12 Pro Max. I sent an email through the support link in the app and had a response this morning saying a fix was coming. THEN I received a follow-up email saying the update is now live.

Problem solved, and very quick!

### 5/5 — Simple and easy to use

*2020-12-27, version 1.6.1*

I’ve been searching for a keyboard for a long time. Ive just created this one in black and pink with the free features it has and I LOVE IT so far. Love the swipe for emojis and special features. It's so much easier. Auto correct on point. Been having lots of issues with the iPhone X standard keyboard. Got tired of it! Highly recommended this one!!!

### 5/5 — Perfect for ipad

*2020-01-14, version 1.6.1*

Purley by accident I finally created my personal keyboard then try it out and the keyboard is much smaller, it is not made for ipad yet but here's the catch, smaller is exactly what I was looking for but not finding and it works great, how's that for Kharma!

### 5/5 — The best keyboard for special features!

*2019-07-23, version 1.6.1*

So I was searching for a keyboard with the iPad feature where you swipe up on the key to get the alternate symbols and such. And that is exactly a feature that this keyboard has! So incredibly customizable. I love it

One recommendation I would have is for the alternate symbols to maybe be a little bit smaller. I know this might not be possibly with resolution limits and such, but it would make it look a little better in my opinion.

### 5/5 — Good keyboard!

*2019-02-23, version 1.5*

Enjoying the keyboard! Recommended!

### 5/5 — EasyType Keyboard

*2016-06-06, version 1.0.2*

The is a great keyboard, however themes are limited and there is no option to create your own theme/look. This really lets the app down and therefore only 4*'s, however, as a keyboard it actually works really well. Just please give us the option to customize it the way WE want it to look!
