## What is Eat Smart Kiwi?

Track what you eat. Track how you feel. Get personalised recommendations on what to eat differently.

Eat Smart Kiwi helps you discover the effect of your eating on acne, bloating, stomach pain, headaches, energy levels, mood, or anything else you want to track. Every day, you record what you eat and how you feel, and we figure out all the correlations between the two. This helps you discover your personal food sensitivities and intolerances, or simply how your body reacts to different foods and drinks.

Eat Smart Kiwi also lets you track exercise, sleep, weight, bowel movements, and anything else relevant to your health.

After a few days of logging, you'll get personalised recommendations on what foods make your conditions worse and what foods make them better, along with the strength and significance of each correlation, whether others in the community share your experience, and relevant scientific research on specific foods and conditions. Optional nutrient breakdown is also available.

Your diary and recommendations sync seamlessly across all your devices and in a browser. Our built-in food database makes logging as quick and painless as possible.

Note: Eat Smart Kiwi is a tracking and correlation tool, not a substitute for professional medical advice. A small monthly subscription is required to view recommendations. The daily diary is free forever.

### 5/5 — Thanks, Smart Kiwi!

*2025-09-28*

Fantastic app. I love that you can track and diary for free, with a paid option if you want an analysis or insights. I highly recommend this app for anyone who wants to track their diet and symptoms to see if there's any potential correlation.

### 5/5 — The PERFECT app

*2025-08-01*

I can’t believe that it took me this long to find this app. I’ve been looking for so long for something to track all of the things needed for my health, and all of the apps were either calorie counters (which wasn’t what I needed) or they were way too expensive for me. Eat Smart Kiwi is simple to use, yet SO thorough and detailed, and I was overjoyed to find that all of the diary functions are FREE to use with no limits. If you are looking for a tracker to monitor your medications/supplements, food, sleep, exercise, bms and more, look no further.

### 5/5 — Great food diary app

*2024-10-02*

I have tried about 5 now and this is the most intuitive, basic, straight forward app that offers more in-depth analysis as you go. The ability to keep it simple or customize with very precise and scientific data inputs is extremely helpful to anyone who downloads the app. Also the price for additional services is shockingly affordable compared to the other 5 I tried to use.

### 5/5 — Migraine Sufferer

*2024-07-26*

I’m only 3 days in but loving the detail I can add to this AP. Extremely affordable. A little time consuming to add everything in but well worth it. I tho k this will really motivate me to change habits. And they thought of almost every detail! Thanks Eat Smart Kiwi for making this AP

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2024-07-09*

I just got this today and I’m loving it so far. I recently got put on a low-histamine diet to treat POTS and MCAS, but it’s been hard to tell what foods aggravate my symptoms and which ones are safe. It helps so much that I can add my symptoms to scale daily that aren’t already listed. I love that creating a recipe makes adding my individual foods an efficient shortcut. I love that each symptom has its own customizable scale and can be as detailed or low-maintenance/simple as you want. I love that I can customize each phrase on the scale and add a little humor to it (like on a scale of “none” to “I think I’m dying”, or “aw yeah 😎” to “I’m down for the count”).

I think the only things I’d change are: 1. Have a little more variation in color on the scale (it’s just green, yellow, and red, it would be nice to have something in between, like variations of those three shades), and 2. Have different color scheme themes (like the whole app being shades of blue, or shades of pink, or fall, winter, nautical, or pastels, etc.); but those are purely aesthetic things.

### 4/5 — PLEASE FIX THIS

*2024-03-30*

I love this app and it’s been super helpful with allowing me to learn what is causing me issues and what is not causing me issues. But the newest update that just took place made the bowel movement scale extremely hard to navigate it has shrunk down to be extremely small. Also according to the update it says that you are supposed to be able to add a photo this is not the case. I’m assuming the sliding bar being messed up is due to this also not being available. And you cannot even see each dot when viewing it. Please fix this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review and I'm glad you love the app! The two issues you referenced have been fixed in the latest update (9.2.4)...the bowel movement scale has been reverted to its previous size, and adding a photo should now be working. Please contact info@eatsmartkiwi.com if there is any further issue. Thank you again for your review and I hope it continues to be super helpful.

### 4/5 — I would give 5 stars…

*2024-02-10*

I like this app so far but it would love it if you could also connect it to your Apple Watch and not just a Fitbit.

### 5/5 — Amazing symptom tracker

*2023-11-05, version 8.3.5*

This is an amazing app and it’s easy to use. It is better than any other food diary.

### 5/5 — Best app i have tried

*2023-08-06*

So many options

### 3/5 — Useless if you don’t pay

*2021-11-07*

Useless if you don’t pay a monthly fee

**Developer response:** I'm sorry you feel this way. The free version still provides considerably more functionality than other food diary apps, with the ability to record food, symptoms, bowel movements, medication, sleep, notes, and other activities, as well as to save recipes and other customizations. Unlike other food diary apps, it is also completely ad-free, and has no limits on the number of entries. The free version is intended to be a very useful product in its own right for those who are looking for a fully-featured food and symptom diary.

If you are also wanting to find correlations between your food and subsequent symptoms, then the pro version is required. This does have a monthly fee, but it has been set as low as possible. I believe the fee is 4x cheaper than the pro version of any other comparable apps, and is unfortunately necessary to support ongoing development and to fund the infrastructure needed for the analysis.
