### 2/5 — Bizarre recipes

*2026-06-28, version 2.0.161*

The concept for this app is perfect. I just wish the execution was the same. With recipes such as Romain lettuce and lemon wrap for dinner turkey, hummus, and pickle sandwich for lunch and bell peppers with peanut butter for a snack. I couldn’t find this app very helpful. It was as if they weren’t thinking about the combinations of food as much as maybe just perfecting the nutritional and caloric content. If they can find more palatable recipes I’d give this five stars!

### 3/5 — Pantry Doesn’t Have Impact on Meal Plan

*2026-06-08, version 2.0.160*

I used this app years ago, and loved it. It seemed like the app worked perfectly when it came to generating meals based on pantry items to minimize grocery costs. However, I’ve bought a subscription to start using again recently and it seems like something isnt working right in the app anymore. Putting items in your pantry and generating a meal plan based on it, even with groceries as the generator focus seems to have no effect on the meal plan results.

### 3/5 — Cheapest generator for meal planning is still really expensive on groceries

*2026-05-26, version 2.0.158*

Wish the cheapest grocery list and meal plan generator wasn’t also very expensive. A set budget option would be nice.

### 4/5 — Additional Feature PLEASE!!!!

*2026-05-04, version 2.0.158*

Could you please add a feature where we can create recipes by multi selecting foods already logged into our planner? I hate having logged something then when I make a recipe need to look up and enter the weight of each item AGAIN. I find it easier to log individual foods to see if they help me hit my goals but I can’t see that while I compile them all into a recipe first. I would appreciate being able to do it after as well. TLDR: pls make “ create a recipe “ able to use items I’ve already logged into meal planner. Thank you in advance

### 2/5 — Recipes are strange

*2026-03-25, version 2.0.155*

Selected the Mediterranean diet option and am not only getting a bunch of recipes that ask for canola oil instead of olive oil, there’s nothing Mediterranean about the recipes and they have strange ratios.
1 avocado and chicken sandwich requires a whole avo. There was avocado going everywhere. Sure i could just eat the rest of the avo separately but it’s an odd recipe.
Then pasta with chicken and corn on dry wholewheat noodles. Did a toddler make this?
Another dinner was eating a half a head of fried cabbage with some tuna steaks between 2 people. We had cabbage coming out our ears. Maybe the app is better for people wanting a regular diet but for someone who needs a Mediterranean diet for cholesterol and heart health, maybe go find some nice recipes online and figure out the macros yourself.
I liked the idea of having the calories and macros counted for me but not at the expense of boring and odd recipes for $86 and year.

### 3/5 — Not for me

*2026-03-23, version 2.0.155*

Well-designed app and UI. Recipes can be lackluster and repetitive.

### 3/5 — Almost great but recipe import broken

*2026-03-17, version 2.0.151*

I really enjoy this app. However one thing missing from its repertoire are Asian recipes. I tried to add some using common cooking blogs I use to cook my own and unfortunately didnt work. If this could be fixed the app would be perfect

### 4/5 — Really good app

*2025-10-20, version 2.0.146*

It’s perfect except for one thing that really nags me which is that it doesn’t have widgets. If that was fixed, then I would deffo go for this app.

### 3/5 — Suddenly won’t load

*2025-09-30, version 2.0.143*

I’ve been really enjoying this app and using it daily for six weeks, but suddenly it has stopped working tonight! It seems to have logged me out and is getting stuck on the login screen.

### 3/5 — Good

*2025-08-16, version 2.0.143*

It is a good app but it does not allow you to batch cook, you have to be able to spend time cooking every day. If you have the time I’ll recommend this app and if you don’t I would even bother

### 3/5 — Not sure yet. But maybe?

*2025-08-03, version 2.0.141*

I've used the app for a week. And I was asked by the app if I like the app. I would say it's ok so far. But I also only started dieting and don't hate my life completely.... so only time will tell if I hate the app one day

### 2/5 — Regret

*2025-07-30, version 2.0.141*

I did the free trial and it signed me up for the year subscription without me realizing. My mistake, but it’s expensive. Halfway through the year and I’ve used the app once. Not worth it and would love a refund.

### 2/5 — Not good for vegetarians

*2025-07-21, version 2.0.141*

The app is a bit difficult to customize first off. There are a lot of customizations available but it’s hard to configure it all well. The recipes for vegetarians just aren’t good. Eating just a block of tofu for a meal— even if it has sauce— is just disgusting in my opinion. The meal options were just not varied and good enough to warrant having this app unfortunately. I hope they improve the vegetarian options in the future.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Meal planning by a lunatic

*2026-05-08, version 2.0.158*

I’m really losing patience with this app and about ready to request a refund. It’s just one series of useless recommendations after another. The same disgusting recipes pushed over and over no matter how many times I block them. Two smoothies for breakfast then three smoothies for lunch. 6 1/2 servings of Greek yogurt in one sitting. What is this supposed to be?

### 1/5 — Budget?

*2026-04-06, version 2.0.156*

On advertising this app, you talk about being able to provide the app with your budget, however I don’t see any function on this app for that. Is that a switching bait tactic? I also see once I generated my meal plan for the week it generated the wrong number of yogurt. It’s telling me 11 cups and there’s not a single place for my weekly meal plan. Nowhere in there is anything anywhere near 11 cups of yogurt that is insane. This app is buggy. I think I had this once a few years ago. The name must’ve changed, but I have the same problems. Every time I go grocery shopping I would buy things and it would be a waste of money because it generates the wrong things.

### 1/5 — Recipes are horrible

*2026-01-23, version 2.0.149*

I wanted to like this app as I have been looking for a healthy meal planner. Unfortunately the recipes are difficult to follow, out of balance, and flat out don’t taste good. Really bummed out.

### 1/5 — Tons of tracking

*2026-01-17, version 2.0.149*

Bye bye personal data!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-12-08, version 2.0.149*

This app is honestly useless. It’s impossible to sign into. I’ve tried using my Apple account and 3 different emails, the app simple won’t let me log into it or make an account. I regret the time and phone space I’ve wasted on it.

### 1/5 — Misleading Free Trial – Charges You Immediately

*2025-10-03, version 2.0.145*

I downloaded EatThisMuch because it advertised a 2-week free trial, after which I could be charged weekly or annually if I decided to keep it. However, the moment I clicked “Subscribe,” they charged me right away, without giving me those two free weeks. I contacted support to dispute this, but they told me the product is non-refundable. So be careful — despite saying “2 weeks free,” you’ll be charged the second you subscribe. There is no actual free trial.
Not happy!

### 1/5 — No meal planing

*2025-08-02, version 2.0.141*

I loved the idea of the app and was so excited until I saw you have to pay to make a plan for the week. What’s the point of the app then? I’m not going grocery shopping every morning just to use this app. Extremely useless and disappointing

### 1/5 — Meal Planning Locked Behind Premium Paywall

*2025-07-29, version 2.0.141*

The most basic feature of a meal planning app should be the ability to plan your meals for the week/month. This feature is locked behind their premium paywall. The only thing you can “meal plan” for free is the current day. What is the point of that? How will I even know if I have the groceries I need for that day if I can’t look at the plan ahead of time? I’m all about paying for premium in apps that have extra helpful features, but don’t bait me into a “free” app only to lock the most basic reason I downloaded your app behind a paywall. You could even lock meal planning beyond a week (like month plans) as a premium feature. That makes sense and is worth paying for, but limiting the meal planning to only the current day makes this app completely pointless. So annoyed I wasted time setting up an account.

### 1/5 — Not impressed

*2025-06-13, version 2.0.140*

I want my money back as I was supposed to have a free trial to try it out but they charged me $70 anyways!

### 1/5 — Completely Useless

*2025-03-08, version 2.0.131*

At the start I liked this app, however after using it, the app continually tells me to go out and buy $100+ in groceries every week when I have food in my pantry.

Last week I needed by some 4 chicken breast for food. The market was having a deal and I got $2.50 off/lb so I doubled up and put them into the freezer. Same with my BOGO broccoli. I add the 10 breasts to my pantry and know I’ve been trying to get the app to recognize that I have food in my pantry. But instead it constantly suggests other things like T-Bone steaks, yogurt and peaches, tuna, and everything but what I have in my pantry.

What was the point of adding things to my pantry if you are going to use it? What happens when the store only has 5 chicken breast in a package and I only need 4 for the week? The app doesn’t recognize it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Use the app, lose weight

*2026-05-16, version 2.0.158*

The title is basically a summary of this review. I have had countless months of jumping from this app to that, but EatThisMuch has helped me lose 30lbs and counting. Don’t rely completely on it, it performs best for you when it’s part of your system, albeit a very important part. You still need to understand your journey, workout and be disciplined. But what this app does miraculously is remove decision fatigue. It empowers you to have the diet plan that works FOR YOU and doesn’t try to change your preferences. Thank you to the creators of this app, it has helped me a lot.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal!

*2026-05-13, version 2.0.158*

I am on an incredibly restricted diet for medical reasons (low-histamine keto), and I have been feeling depressed about food. I didn’t want to think of my weekly meal plan or find recipes because I can’t eat most things. So I found this app to automate it, after blocking most ingredients and selecting incredibly restrictive macros & calories. I expected to eat cardboard. Instead, I have been blown away by the legitimately delicious, restaurant grade recipes! And, thanks to the settings, the meals are fast enough for me to make with impatient toddlers, and I can easily scale up for the whole family (adding carbs for the others ofc)! I cannot believe how amazing this app is. The settings / customisations are incredible. It also makes my life easier by spitting out a grocery list each week! Oh my goodness I am never going back. Take my money!

### 5/5 — Perfection ❤️

*2026-04-09, version 2.0.157*

This app was exactly what I was looking for… automated recipe planning with automatic grocery list building based off your week, pantry management, and syncs with Apple health for tracking. My only complaint is the pantry management system could be more automated, but honestly I’m just happy it checks all my boxes. Well worth the subscription if you love tracking your macros 😊

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2026-01-25, version 2.0.149*

I really don’t know what I would do without this app! It is perfect for planning and tracking meals, creating a grocery list, even finding new recipes, adding your own recipes, and tracking macros too. Seriously could not live without this!

### 5/5 — New recipes

*2025-11-25, version 2.0.148*

I enjoying this app because it provides me with new recipes, I haven’t tried yet.

### 5/5 — Eat this much! Great app

*2025-11-04, version 2.0.147*

Super flexible love the option for alternate menu choices and the ability to change servings and the update for shopping lists while tracking what is in my pantry. Added bonus app works across android and IOS. Lost 20 lbs without trying, easy recipes, options for amount of time to prep meals and can even plan special meals using recipe options. Love it!

### 5/5 — Better and Better

*2025-10-30, version 2.0.147*

I appreciate the constant improvements they make. A really simple straightforward way to stick to your diet

### 5/5 — Macros!

*2025-10-11, version 2.0.146*

This app has made hitting my nutrition goals so easy. So far, every food I’ve looked up is there with the matching calories, protein, carbs, and fats. I love that you can set your goal and check to make sure you’re hitting it with the meals I make. It’s perfect.

### 5/5 — Affordable, enjoyable and worth it!

*2025-07-20, version 2.0.141*

1. It’s affordable. less than $60/year. If the price goes up then you’re paying too much.
2. I love how it doesn’t just give me a generic repeated meal plan. Instead I get day by day easy to make recipes !!!!
3. It counts my calories for me.
4. My first week using it a total of 4 days since I started on Wednesday , I’ve lost 4lbs

### 5/5 — So easy to stick to goals!!

*2025-05-11, version 2.0.133*

This app makes it so easy to hit targets and adjust as you go. With the diet restriction options, grocery list, and being able to swap meals or have leftovers, it’s the only food app I’ll ever use
