I travel a lot for work & it’s really helpful when I’m looking to discover great food in a new city & gives me so many great options & ideas. And this is also the first app which has a rating system which not only makes sense, but makes it easy to review - just rate it against previous experience of similar dishes! Serious ratings for this app. One thing I would say though is that I often got confused by the colour scheme but maybe I am just yet to find the key. ### 5/5 — Great idea and awesome execution *2018-12-17, version 1.39* Have been looking for an easy app to find food that’s not just based on how trendy the restaurant is, but the actual goods they deliver and Eaten does just that. Plus their customer support is phenomenal with in app chat I got a response within five minutes! I always go to places and have no idea what to order. I really want to know what the food is like and not that the server didn’t smile or that the Kardashian’s ate there, this app cuts the crap and focuses on the food! I am currently in rural Bavaria visting my parents and there is a bunch of food options and restaurants that have already been rated!!! So just imagine how useful this will be in big cities like London or New York!! The interface is easy to use and it‘s very intuitive. The map let‘s you search areas for dishes you are craving that are close by and the ranking system gives you an easy way of comparing between the same dish at different restaurants. Where to eat the best food. Would that be in the city where I live or when traveling abroad. I'd never have cravings like American food or Italian cuisine. Who does really? My cravings would be much more specific: burger, carbonara pasta or pancakes for example. There is currently no app out there that can cope with those specific needs. My best bet would be to search through endless blogs, scrolling through hundreds of posts from my favourite foodies on Instagram, or desperately posting a status on Facebook asking for recommendations (which I would never do). Well now there is Eaten! I can't find the top places for all of my cravings yet, but it's definitely heading in the right direction. It just needs more people to share where they eat their favourite foods! I can’t see the date for when I ate there. When I move my finger on the screen I can feel the tactile feedback, so the dials are not showing to the public. Feedback recommendations: 1) Add sections for Appetizer, Entree, Dessert 2) I want to rate the individual dishes and then the restaurant overall. Or, allow the restaurant to be rated based on my average scores of dishes. 3) on my dashboard/homepage, if I select one image which takes me to more information about it, show other images from other people who also ate at that restaurant. I may be at the restaurant and looking for the best thing to get there. I may be able to get this information through another method, but it’s a user story. 4) Grouping of my reviews seem weird. I rather see a grouping of the Restaurants instead of the plate I had. So when I go to a place I have already been, it would be nice to click on the restaurant and then see the dishes I have already tried and rated. Il manquerait quelques fonctionnalités de base sympas comme de pouvoir trier les endroits par leur note attribuée par exemple pour pouvoir retrouver nos meilleurs endroits et plats comme de voir les endroits les mieux notés en anticipant un voyage ou une balade gastronomique Le système de ranking est addictif bien qu’un peu opaque sur les points reçus. On aimerait que cette app évolue plus mais perso je ne peux plus m’en passer. ### 5/5 — A fantastic app for foodies *2022-12-30, version 1.79* Really is one of the best food rating apps out there, since the latest iOS phones it’s a little bit tricky to submit a rating as the screen hasn’t been adjusted to take account of the notch. But it’s still possible, just fiddly… I use it as a food diary, and a way to find the best meals in every city I visit. What an idea to focus on the dishes, because even random pubs have gems hidden. One very annoying bug though, I cannot use the search functionality on iPhone 6 (no location services on), as it freezes to a white screen on any search.
