Time for some updates? *2026-05-09, version 2.0.23* Had this app for a few years now and use it with multiple panels. Works very well and never had any instability or notification problems. Core functionality is brilliant. However, everyone that uses it (me included) wishes there were better notifications other than the handful of default ios tones. If the alarm is triggered, the sounds are basic and don’t give the urgency an alarm activation should merit. The Scantronix app for example screams about Alarm activations’. This should do the same. A simple beep isn’t sufficient. At the very least let users or installers if you must, customise the sounds. Beyond that surely its time to allow integration with Smart Homes, like Apple Home or Google home to set / check status (not unset) or show alerts etc? Most of the core stability is there, proper Sound alerts are essential for a security app. Now give customers some bells and whistles. ### 4/5 — Nice App with a few tweaks could be improved *2026-04-29, version 2.0.23* I like the app it’s straight to the point, coming from a ring alarm the one thing I miss is the ability to set an automation i.e 10pm every night set the alarm. The one consistent irritation is the ‘blank’ screen that frequently occurs if I’ve left the app open in the background since its previous use. I then have to close and reopen the app to see my panel again. This bug affects every user of the app in my household (all iPhone based). I would recommend having an option for panic button like some other alarm companies have on their app which would be useful. ### 3/5 — Login Issues *2025-02-28, version 2.0.23* Following a networking problem at home I’m having difficulties with my Eaton Secure Connect Account. When I log in I’m asked to put in my pairing code as if to add a new panel. When I generate a new code and enter it tells me that the panel is already connected and I can proceed no further! What makes it worse is that there are no contact details where I can report this issue or get it resolved. We’re no longer getting notifications of any kind from the app. It’s working ok as usual otherwise. All going well and very pleased. App is clear and easy to use. Like others, I often get the blank page and need to refresh. Oddly, this doesn’t seem ti happen to my wife - weird. (We both use iPhones) Only an annoyance rather than a big issue. Also, was wondering if there were any plans to release a watch based app to control from an Apple Watch? Thanks. ### 3/5 — Notifications on app but not showing on the iPhone noticifation centre *2024-08-24, version 2.0.23* Basic app that does what it says. Alarm has sounded twice. The app ‘list’ shows that it has gone off - but messages did not show up on the Notification Centre on the iPhone. (I have an Ring alarm system as well and the same notification settings are the same). Ring also has ‘time sensitive’ notifications - this does not. I do wish this could be amended it would save the neighbours phoning me to say the alarm is sounding if I could see it on my iPhone notifications banner right away. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No longer receiving notifications *2026-06-19, version 2.0.23* The app worked fine for 2+ years. For the past 6 months I no longer get notifications. I've deleted the app. Reinstalled and re-paired it. I have checked all notification settings and refreshed those. The app is paired as I am able to set and unset the alarm remotely however not getting any notifications is a huge security issue for us and currently rendering the alarm useless ### 1/5 — Can’t get notifications. *2026-05-05, version 2.0.23* It’s important to get notifications but this app does not provide notifications to the main party ### 1/5 — Panel off line *2026-02-08, version 2.0.23* It will set manually but not via the app I deleted the app and try to reinstall it from the cloud and the system is asking me to pair it again !! Panel off line occurs on s daily basis and the Eaton alarm is the only item having this problem I have connected to my WiFi as many as another 10 items connected and they are never disconnected from the WiFi . If something is disconnected then immediately it reconnects ! The Eaton alarm takes ages if it ever reconnects . I have good WiFi all over the house with relevant boosters Is there a fault with this alarm ? Tried to reset my password word . Changed it successfully but I still can not get access . Without notifications I don’t know if my alarms are ringing or when they are being set and unset ### 1/5 — Overall excellent, with a couple of bugs *2024-09-02, version 2.0.23* The positives: In general works very well. I’ve had no issues with arming / disarming remotely. The ergonomics and layout of the app are excellent and it’s simple and intuitive to use. The bugs: If you’re using facial recognition you can’t log out. It immediately logs you back in. Occasionally when you open the app, the landing page presents you with a blank page but with a heading “home” on the top banner. Clicking on the drop-down menu and selecting “My panels” shows a blank page with “My panels” at the top and nothing beneath apart from an error message at the bottom reading “undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘I.length’)” This isn’t a regular occurrence and quitting the app immediately logs you back in with the working landing page. Overall these trivial bugs are no more than a nuisance. Additional note for developer: I would be happy to forward the log file when the blank page shows in order for you to debug app. ### 1/5 — Do not use Eaton app *2024-07-12, version 2.0.23* This app is rubbish. We have an Eaton alarm system and that seems ok. But the app is waste of time. It rarely works or talks to the panel. However, I have had no issues, except needed to reboot my broadband router as app was saying panel offline (Broadband was playing up that day) . It has never let me down which is paramount from a home security perspective. It is simply to navigate as explained by our engineer from Forrest Security Systems. Having the system professionally installed is the key. Very happy customer and end user. Have recommended and will continue to do so. ### 5/5 — Long term review *2024-04-27, version 2.0.23* We had our system professionally installed several years ago by Forrest Security Systems (Kent). Whilst there were some annoying problems with the app a few years ago, it is more than fair to say that it now runs really well. Very occasionally it takes a quick app refresh to set the alarm, but very rarely. Setting different alerts is easy too, something that a lot of historical bad reviews here have highlighted. In my experience all problems have been quickly addressed by Eaton with regular app updates. Whilst not critiquing anyone’s DIY abilities, making a comparison with a professionally fitted system is like comparing apples and pears. Our engineer is always on hand to sort anything should we need it, and has a great product and software knowledge. Most bad app reviews here are historic, and some recurring issues seem to be as a result of bad self fitting. Get yourself a professional if you are serious about security, and I strongly endorse Eaton Secure Connect. ### 5/5 — Simple, Easy to Use App! *2024-04-26, version 2.0.23* I have been using the Eaton app with my home security system for nearly 7 years and have always found it very easy to use! The interface is simple and easy to understand. The app itself is stable, which is essential when dealing with something as serious as home security. My Eaton app works in conjunction with my Forrest Security Systems and the two work flawlessly together. I couldn’t be happier with both my Eaton app and the service provided by Forrest Security Systems. App works great, allowing remote alarm setting from anywhere and also notifications sent to the phone of activation and deactivation which is great when you have kids using the house alarm.
