## What is EatSense?

Your gut is trying to tell you something. EatSense helps you listen.

Snap a photo of your meal. AI identifies every ingredient and flags gluten, dairy, FODMAPs and more. Log symptoms, bowel movements, and mood. Over time, EatSense connects the dots and shows you exactly which foods are behind your worst days.

Built for people living with IBS, GERD, bloating, food sensitivities, and other digestive issues.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT:

- AI food scanning that catches hidden triggers in complex meals
- Tracks 20+ symptoms including bloating, brain fog, acid reflux, and fatigue
- Bristol stool scale tracking with color and volume
- AI pattern analysis that links your food to your symptoms
- Export PDF reports to share with your doctor
- Simple guides to AIP, Low FODMAP, and elimination protocols

HOW IT WORKS:

1) Snap your meal or type it in
2) Log symptoms and bowel movements throughout the day
3) EatSense finds the patterns you can't see on your own

The hardest part of fixing your gut is figuring out what's causing the problem. EatSense makes that simple.

### 3/5 — with room for improvement

*2026-07-26*

The ‘recent meals’ view unfortunately isn’t well implemented. You can’t scroll left or right to get a proper look at the entries, which makes it nearly impossible to select the right meal on purpose – it’s more like guessing and hoping you tapped the correct one. Since the app already uses AI, some kind of automatic categorization would make a lot of sense – e.g. by meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or by food/ingredients – to make selection much easier. This is by far the most frustrating part of the app so far, since it forces you to re-enter so many things manually instead of just picking them from the list.

**Developer response:** Thank you for this, great feedback. We're working on built meal-type filters, search, and photo thumbnails for the My Meals picker, and they're coming in the next update. Thanks again :)

### 3/5 — Pas mal

*2026-07-07*

### 1/5 — Can’t use without paying

*2026-05-12*

I think the concept of this is super cool however I only logged one meal item before it told me I had to upgrade to continue… there is no way to know if you like the app if you only get to use it for 5 seconds. Considering the app is almost entirely AI, it shouldn’t cost much to have a free version.

They do have a trial option but with the trial, you’ll be charged as soon as it’s over so that defeats the purpose. If they ever come out with a free version, I would 100% be willing to try again.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. We can’t offer unlimited free use because the AI processing has real ongoing costs. We’re still deliberating on the free trial period. Appreciate you trying it :)

### 5/5 — Perfect app / responsive developer

*2026-04-27*

Great app that gets it on all levels. Developer is responsive to boot!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏
It really means a lot to hear that you’re enjoying the app.

### 5/5 — I like it but

*2026-02-26*

I really like it but you can’t really do much with the free version.
I’m debating between this one (using the free 3 day trial) and another one that I’m able to use for free and is good enough for what I need it. But great app tho.

**Developer response:** Thank you, glad you're enjoying it! :)

### 4/5 — Good app but needs improvements

*2026-02-25*

I really like the main idea of this app, it helps me track my food every day and also keep track of symptoms, which is exactly what I need. The design is nice and clean, and Bella is cute 😊

That said, I have a few suggestions:
- I wish there was a free version or at least a free trial. I didn’t expect it to ask for a subscription right away and thought there was 7 day trial.
- When logging meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner), it only lets you either upload a photo or write a description for AI analysis. I wish I could upload a photo and add a description before it analyzes. Sometimes AI guesses wrong or misses ingredients, and I’d like to save photos for later inspiration too.
- i’d love more detailed food logging. Right now calories are based on the final weight of the dish, but I’d prefer to enter each ingredient separately with its own weight.
- I also feel like the app uses AI too much. If I just log “banana,” it shouldn’t need AI analysis. It would be great to have the option to not use AI analysis sometimes,, especially if I want to manually enter ingredients.
- When it says something is “not AIP compliant,” or not something, I wish it explained why. For example, my sweet potato with ground beef should be AIP compliant, the app flagged it but I don’t know which ingredient it thinks is a problem. I’d like more context.

Overall, i like the concept and I hope to see improvements soon.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this elaborate review, it really means a lot :) Photo + description combo logging and compliance explanations are on the roadmap. Hopefully, soon! Thanks again.

### 3/5 — Most intuitive gut sorry

*2026-02-20*

Found that this is the most intuitive food diary with food logging, water intake, food symptoms, bowel movement and analysis. However it’s far too expensive for what it is. And also to make use of the AI analysis you need to use it for 4 days but the trial lasts for 3 which seems unfair.

### 2.8 — 2026-09-06

Based on your feedback: you can now rate how bad a symptom is (bloating, for example) on a scale of 1 to 5 when you log it. The journal also shows what time you logged it, so if you're bloated in the morning and again after dinner, that's two entries, not one.

### 2.7 — 2026-08-03

Find that meal in two taps. Filter My Meals by meal type, and spot the right one instantly with new photo thumbnails on every meal you've snapped.

### 2.6 — 2026-07-20

Know your triggers. Log what you eat, see what your gut reacts to. Faster and more accurate with this update.

We've been listening. Sharper insights, smoother logging, and your most-requested touches, including imperial units. Bella now mirrors your day. The more you log, the happier she gets.
