No ability to browse or buy new books.

Doesn’t hold preferences ie. Change text size, line spacing anything. Close it, open again next day and it returns to default settings. 
No option for dictionary look up. 
Please let me use my book that I have paid for in my preferred App ie. Apple Books or Calibre. 
I was trying to avoid Bezos but looks like I’ll be dragged back because of ebooks LCP.

I try to set up an account and it tells me I am not online. 
I get this error:

I have tried several times.
