## What is ECG+ | Your Watch ECG Reader?

REAL STORIES, IN THEIR OWN WORDS

I had an appointment with a cardiologist today. I printed my ECGs from this ECG+ app. The cardiologist's response was: "wow, this just saved us such an amount of time and research". He could immediately see the direction he should be looking further into.

○ Accurate reading
I am a retired Paramedic and can read ECGs very well. I knew I was having an irregular heart rhythm so I downloaded this ecg+ app and printed out my latest one lead ECG. I went to the Emergency Room with the print out, ecg+ was spot on and matched the 12-lead in the ER. The ER doc was quite impressed with the interpretation and print out.

===================

ECG+ analyzes your Apple Watch ECG to unlock the crucial cardiac details hidden inside, then creates a report with clear evidence of what happened, ready to bring to your doctor. Findings include patterns such as possible early, or premature, heartbeats, which some people notice around moments of sudden palpitations or skipped heartbeats, and burdens associated with premature beats and AFib.

Most importantly, ECG+ tracks these findings for your peace of mind, so you know when things are under control or when your attention is needed, for example when premature beat burden is rising.

ECG+ does not diagnose symptoms or medical episodes. Instead, it presents your recorded ECG data in a clearer, more structured way, so you can have a more informed and productive conversation with your doctor. Many users, including medical professionals, have found real value in ECG+.

○ Advanced readings to help your cardiologist
Today I showed my doctor several ECGs derived from my Apple Watch through ECG+ and advanced data analysis. He was really impressed and helped answer a lot of my questions on PACs and PVCs. Apple ECG alone will not identify enough of what's going on. Highly recommend this app.

○ Very accurate
As a CT ICU nurse of 34 years I find the readings on the EKG app to be surprisingly accurate! I'm very impressed with the quality of the telemetry given that it's from a watch on my wrist. It's also quite reassuring as I get older to know that it can automatically monitor for arrhythmia so I can be more proactive in following up with my physician on my heart health.

[Intuitive designs]
Every finding is marked directly on the ECG, with the supporting measurements laid out in one clear report:
Premature beats - the skipped, extra or fluttering beats you actually feel
Rhythm patterns - bigeminy, trigeminy, quadrigeminy, couplets and triplets, marked where they happen
Premature-beat burden - how often abnormal beats occur, tracked over time
QT / QTc interval measurements
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) - with its trend, shown as a Poincaré plot
AFib irregularity - the irregularly-irregular pattern that points to atrial fibrillation

[HealthKit]
ECG+ integrates with Apple Health through HealthKit, making it easy to access your Apple Watch ECG recordings without manual imports.

[Disclaimer]
ECG+ is not a diagnostic tool and does not provide medical advice. It is intended for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical care. In an emergency, contact your doctor or emergency services immediately.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-08-17, version 1.17.3*

Like to be able to use watch and able to write a report. The details of reading 👍

### 5/5 — Artifacts in AI interpretation?

*2026-08-17*

This is a great app and has brought me extraordinary reassurance after some unresolved arrhythmia events that landed me in the emergency room two weeks ago. After many studies, including echocardiograms and Holter, my heart seems ok pending a CT angiography. We hope the cause is something like vagus nerve irritation from my hiatal hernia. Anyway, on the extended AI reports, I sometimes see a reference to “beats labeled PAC or PVC”, but on the strip they’re all labeled R and it’s a ‘normal’ strip without OVC or PAC flags. Is this reference to “beats marked PAC” where none exist an AI hallucination? I’m happy to contribute my recordings to your QA team if it’s helpful.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, Sarah, and best wishes for your heart health.
The mismatch info you observed is likely due to a newer version correcting some false (wrong) findings mis-identified by an older version, but AI has kept some residual info. If you can email us hello@ecg.plus, we are happy to confirm this for you. Thanks.

### 5/5 — My Benefits

*2026-08-16*

I have been experiencing some medicine related arrhythmias with dizziness and poor balance. This ECG reader has really helped me a lot in narrowing down the suspected medication’s that might be causing my arrhythmias.

Initially, my cardiologist was initially reluctant about the efficacy of this app; however, I believe he has seen that is that it has been helpful in my situation.

### 5/5 — Jamie

*2026-08-10, version 1.17.2*

Abbott

### 5/5 — Good

*2026-08-06*

Beautiful UI, but a little too expensive

### 4/5 — Good but wish there was permanent subscription

*2026-07-23, version 1.17*

The app is good but every health app these days wants a $60 yearly subscription and there’s only so many subscriptions I can justify having

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2026-07-23, version 1.17*

I’m not an MD, but have a technical scientific background and love how much data this shows. Much more useful than standard Apple health metrics. A relative (who is an MD) has even used the data to advocate for a full 12 lead before.

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2026-07-16, version 1.10*

Don’t download

### 5/5 — ECG +

*2026-07-09*

Very good experience

### 1/5 — Was better before

*2026-07-04, version 1.16.1*

The app worked great until this most recent update. Now it doesn’t even catch things and it misses a lot when it identifies potential PACs and PVCs. And of course the app gets worse after I pay for the yearly subscription

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.17.4 — 2026-08-24

“So what triggered my AFib?”
Now, ECG+ can help you get closer to an answer.

Maybe it was the long dinner and a little too much wine. The quick climb upstairs. Bending down. A late night. Or the quiet moment just after you slipped into bed.
Then came the flutter.

Your Apple Watch captured the rhythm. Your doctor helped put a name to it. But one question remained: why then?
ECG+ v1.17.4 introduces the new Trigger Card for AFib recordings, helping you narrow down which events may have triggered your episodes. It cannot prove a cause, but it may reveal a pattern worth discussing with your doctor.

### 1.17.3 — 2026-08-12

Thirty seconds of recording. Now with the story around it.

What a recording shows often starts hours before it: the short sleep, the third coffee, the stressful call, the flutter you felt on the stairs. ECG+ now keeps a Journal beside every recording. Symptoms and possible triggers in two taps, a note in your own words, your sleep drawn in from Apple Health.

It changes what your questions get back. Ask AI about a recording and it answers with the complete picture, beats and context together, the way a good doctor thinks. And when you do sit across from your cardiologist, you arrive with their first question already answered, recording by recording.

The more context you give, the more complete the picture, the more accurate the explanation, and the more informed the conversation with your doctor.

### 1.17.2 — 2026-08-06

Adaptive AI explanations
ECG+ now works with Claude to explain your ECG reports, and nothing changes in how you use it. You don't need to pick a model. ECG+ chooses the right one for each report and sends the more eventful recordings to a stronger model, which is included at no extra cost.

Your typical heartbeat
With enough recordings in a month, ECG+ picks the best candidates and summarizes them into your typical heartbeat, far more reliable than reading any single beat.

### 1.17.1 — 2026-07-30

More accurate and honest measurements
An upgraded measurement engine (v1.18) reads waves more faithfully. When a wave cannot be reliably identified, for example a P wave with very low amplitude, instead of throwing a bunch of numbers around, ECG+ now marks the area it searched and explains why it's not a good idea to measure an unclear wave. This is often seen on recordings with lots of artifacts (noise) caused by poor contact.

Search your recordings
Find any recording in seconds. Search by symptoms, triggers, notes, or findings.

### 1.17 — 2026-07-14

A cardiologist reading an ECG report always wants more context: what symptoms you felt when the recording was taken, and what might have led up to it, such as a big meal, alcohol, coffee, anxiety, or poor sleep. In version 1.17 we expanded the symptoms section into a full Journal, where you can capture these details for your doctor to consider.

Journal makes ECG+ smart interpretation genuinely useful. When you ask about a recording, ECG+ reads your symptoms and triggers alongside the waveform data and addresses them directly: whether the flutter you felt lines up with what the trace shows, or whether last night's poor sleep could explain the extra beats. And across your whole history, Journal reveals patterns and triggers, like premature beats that cluster after coffee, or calmer readings in weeks you slept well. The more you record, the more ECG+ can connect, and easier it finds those triggers behind the episodes.

Apple Watch ECG produces relatively low P wave amplitude, and 1.17 introduced a new specific algorithm in finding where P waves start and end, by zooming in really deep into the waveform. This significantly reduces overestimation.
