### 5/5 — Add time stamp please

*2021-08-04*

Thank u for app 🙌🏻

Can you add time stamp to app?

T.me/anyarulina

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for reaching out! Can you explain what time stamps you exactly mean? Feel free to contact me via email.

### 5/5 — Revising 1-Star

*2021-07-15*

I like the data this app shows. I can feel extra “bumps” or larger bumps in my heart beat which is why I got the Polar but I wanted the ability to observe and record.

i will have to play around with the raw data but should be easy enough to import into spreadsheet. but I think I might see if I can build some Java app or something to chart this data. Been a long time since I did any programming.

I did purchase the subscription, the developer’s idea was sound on implementing this instead of outright purchase an unknown app. Cardiologist here in S. Korea didn’t see any issues and said nothing to worry about but these bigger beats are frequent and doesn’t seem right. Recording data while I’m still here, especially at night when it seems the worst (probably after being exposed to air pollution all day). Mornings are pretty calm and it could be that I am running two air filters in the house. Who knows without the data.

NOTES TO DEVELOPER
Initially had issues connecting. Don’t know what was going on. Open up app for the first time and got “would like to use BT” (allowed), then pairing request - allow, then tap on Connect, tap on Polar H10 serialnumber but nothing happened. closed app and opened another app Elite HRV and ran a test. Closed that out and reopened ECGRecorder and tapping the H10 still didn’t do anything. Since not connecting I deleted app. But, Developer response was super fast so I downloaded again to screen record. Now, this app connects to my polar H10. So I don’t know what was going on because I went through several steps like cycling BT off-on and connecting the Polar with other apps and force closing those apps before retrying with ECG Recorder.

**Developer response:** Hi, glad to hear it is working now. And thanks for describing the problem. I do not know yet what could have gone wrong. But often deleting an app and installing it a second time it might start working. Please have a look at EDFbrowser and the demo video for it on the app's github page. Maybe this is what you are looking for. I will update the help section at some point. Thanks again for your feedback! An please don't hesitate to contact me via email.

### 5/5 — Not sure how this works

*2021-07-13*

So it records data into a text document. When I open the file it’s just a bunch of numbers. I have no idea how to take that raw data and put it into a visual graph. It would be nice if there were Numbers or Excel templates that the data could be imported to.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. I invite you to have a look at the help screen where it is explained how it works with numbers and excel. Also, have a look at the demo videos on the app's github page. And please contact me directly for further questions. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-06-22*

Works great together with iPhone Xs and Polar H10. Thank you for a great app

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for!

*2021-03-11*

Purchased a Polar H10 after reading study after study where they are used to record ECGs. Immediately realized that neither Polar nor Apple support monitoring/recording of the ECG data that is output from the H10. Spent days looking for something like this app, and then there it was! It’s does exactly what you’d want: it displays and/or records ECG output. It’s a great app, and the developer is quick to respond to questions or feedback. I wish everything worked this way!

### 5/5 — Works flawlessly!

*2021-03-09*

Thanks for developing this app. I bought a BP monitor that said it detected irregular heartbeat. I wanted to see more what my heart is doing. ECGs are around 100$, but I already own an H10. I started searching for apps that might work to detect ECG. This one is perfect. A+

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Für durchschnittliche Nutzer ungeeignet

*2026-06-26*

### 1/5 — Trying to Charge me double after LIFETIME membership.

*2024-04-18*

I am trying to access the app after paying for the lifetime membership but it doesn’t allow me to access the features that comes with it and instead prompts me to pay again. Will revise review if/when this is fixed. Definitely not fair to not be able to use what I paid for and then get asked to pay again for it.

**Developer response:** Hello, the purchases are handled by the Apple App Store, not by the app. Does it work in the meantime? Feel free to contact support at ecg-recorder@poeml.de

### 1/5 — Not working and limited documentation

*2024-02-03*

I’ve tried to use this but have been unable to connect to my h10. It has the latest firmware but doesn’t show up in the app. I’ve tried with it paired in the normal iPhone Bluetooth and not but the app never sees it, there is nothing whatsoever in the docs about how to connect that I could see. The h10 connects fine to my fenix 6, my iPhone and polar flow/beat so I don’t think it is my device. I have looked at GitHub as well but no coverage of whether I need to pair to iPhone first or really any help unfortunately

**Developer response:** Hello, please contact support at ecg-recorder@poeml.de to solve the connection problem. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Disappointed- not connecting

*2022-08-15*

It connected at first try then had to purchase subscription. I got subscription and no longer able to connect. Restarted app, watch and Polar H-10. Too bad, I really liked what I saw before paying for subscription

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review. Could you please contact support at ecg-recorder@poeml.de? I am sure we can figure out the problem. Are you able to connect to the H10 using the Polar Beat app?

### 1/5 — Forced payment

*2022-06-09*

I would somewhat like and be interested in this app if it didn’t pop up pay now every 7 seconds. I’ll look on android for more options Added response: your app is garbage and it will stay garbage lazy nerd probably making more money on the data you are selling then anything else.

**Developer response:** Sorry, not everything that's on the internet is free... :-) But you are welcome to use the free trial mode. No popups there and you can test if you like and/or need the app at all. And if not, no need to buy. And no need to leave a bad review. Thanks! Added response: Thank you for the "garbage" and the "lazy nerd" that is very useful feedback! And if you were looking closely, you would see that the app is not collecting any data at all, so (unfortunately) nothing to sell. Enjoy!

### 2/5 — Subscription

*2023-03-01*

The app works great and it has been a huge help! However, now that I don’t need it anymore I am unable to find where I can cancel the subscriptions! Any help would be appreciated !

**Developer response:** Hi. Glad that the app has been helpful. You can cancel the subscription in the settings of your Apple ID. See here for help: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039. Please consider to revise the 2-star rating. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Cannot find the data recorded

*2024-07-25*

I tried to locate the file, however, I’m unable to find it. Can you please help with that?

**Developer response:** Sure, can you please contact support at developer@cmdline.net?

### 4/5 — Apple Health Verbindung wäre geil

*2024-06-27*

Apple Health Verbindung wäre geil

**Developer response:** Ist implementiert. :-)

### 4/5 — Funktioniert!

*2023-11-14*

### 4/5 — Works well but can’t seem to record ECG more than 2 hours

*2022-09-17*

This app works really well & is easy to use. I want to get ECG recording through the night, but it seems to time out after 2 hours & then doesn’t even save the ECG file up to that point. Is there any work around for this??

RR intervals and HR record for extended period (>5 hours) with no issues.

**Developer response:** Hi and thanks for the review. Can you contact support at ecg-recorder@poeml.de to solve your issues? It is a bit strange, because since version 1.3 or so ECG data gets autosaved in case of a disconnect of the H10. Also, with my H10 I was able to record over night, more thatn 12 hours. Maybe we can also find out what is disconecting, the H10, or the receiving device. Thanks.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best for biohackers

*2026-08-21*

This is the only app (that I could find) which allows continuous 24h tracking of HRV data using the Polar H10 strap. This is important for accurately measuring SDNN data in a way that compares to clinical literature. In general the app unlocks all features of the H10 strap. Furthermore it allows exporting the data (including raw RR intervals and ECG) to open formats (text, csv), which enables you to process it later using your own custom algorithms. This makes it ideal for biohackers. Bonus thanks for making the app compatible with my old iPhone 6s running an ancient iOS version.

P.s: some reddit threads seem to suggest incorrectly that the H10 was not designed for continuous monitoring of HRV. It might be a good idea if the dev posted about the app in those threads. I was only able to find this app after several painful searches using LLMs

### 5/5 — Einwandfrei!

*2026-06-17*

Einfache Bedienung und eine sehr gute Website mit weiteren Erläuterungen. Ganz wichtig: Eine Frage meinerseits an den Entwickler wurde innerhalb kurzer Zeit beantwortet! Was möchte man als Nutzer mehr?

### 5/5 — Has apple health integration

*2026-06-11*

Overall it does what it says on the tin. It also retroactively writes to apple health (though if you’re lucky, most of the time the cache appears to exist before then anyway, and plenty of third party readers can see it)
I’d love to see some things changed, but that’s the case with any project like this. In particular I’d like an alert if the band disconnects for more than a minute, and it would be cool to set some sort of automatic/continuous mode.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! Glad the app is useful.
I agree, a notification at disconnect would be useful. I will look into that. Thanks. Can you define automatic/continuous mode? Maybe send by email. Always open for suggestions. 😊

### 5/5 — Great app but the license purchased does not unlock on my iPad.

*2026-05-25*

I purchased the lifetime license on my iPhone. The purchase appears in my Apple purchase history on the iPad (same Apple ID), but the app does not unlock premium on the iPad. The app has no “Restore Purchases” option..

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. To restore your lifetime purchase on another device, please make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase. Then open the subscription screen in the app and scroll all the way to the bottom to find “Restore Purchases.” If it still does not unlock, please contact support and I’ll be happy to help. If this resolves the issue and you enjoy the app, I’d really appreciate an updated rating. 😊

### 5/5 — Best Polar H10 app on the market

*2024-04-30*

Works exceedingly well for monitoring my exercises (rowing machine, hiking, and walking). An unexpected benefit was its invaluable help in diagnosing the heart rate subtleties (via the 'R-R Interval' and 'ECG Stream') associated with my nighttime sleep issues. Live plotting on the iPhone, along with data exporting to plotting software (spreadsheets, custom computer programming) makes this an invaluable tool.

### 5/5 — Thank You!

*2023-04-25*

Thank you for making this! I love being able to see my ecg.

### 5/5 — Does exactly what it says

*2022-10-22*

Thank you for developing this really intuitive, simple and useful app. The free trial was very nice to be able to check it out first and then a fair price, for a privately developed app (that I know cost a fair bit just to host!).
Works perfectly with H10.
If it automatically worked out the HRV from the r values, I wouldn’t need anything else!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the positive review. I will keep the HRV in mind for the next version. I had this request before. Will look at it.

### 5/5 — Works as Described

*2022-04-14*

Easy to use! My question about the output file was answered in the help section.

### 5/5 — Doesn’t connect… I fixed it

*2022-01-22*

update: changed rating since I figured out the issue: it doesn’t connect if some other app is using H20.

Great idea but it doesn’t work. Bluetooth is on, the Polar H10 is available and visible in the app, but after I click connect, nothing happens.

**Developer response:** Hi, glad you figured it out. Yes, the H10 needs to be "free", i.e. not connected already, otherwise it will not accept another connection.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2022-01-08*

This app does exactly what I need: to record the output of my Polar H10 in a continuous stream that can be saved.

However, I purchased this app on my iPhone. When I opened it on my iPad, I was asked to pay again. Should this app work on both my iPhone and iPad which are on the same iCloud account?

Thanks for offering such a useful app.

**Developer response:** Hi, tanks for the review. Yes, it should work on multiple devices without paying more than once. Are you sure you installed both times with the same Apple ID? Please contact support at ecg-recorder@poeml.de Thanks!
