## What is Echo?

Echo is an AI meeting copilot that helps you prepare for meetings, take notes, and turn conversations into useful follow-up.

Before a meeting
• See upcoming meetings in your Calendar Agenda.
• Generate a Precall Brief from relevant context.
• Choose a Meeting Type for the conversation.

During a meeting
• Take notes from your iPhone microphone during in-person meetings.
• Follow a live transcript while Echo captures the conversation.
• Keep recording in the background while you use other apps.
• If live transcription is unavailable, Echo keeps recording locally and retries after connectivity returns.

After a meeting
• Review the Saved Session, transcript, notes, and action items.
• Copy transcripts, notes, summaries, and checklists with one tap.
• Play back meeting audio when audio retention is enabled.
• Ask Echo questions about your meetings and saved knowledge.
• Import an existing recording for transcription and notes.

Echo requires an account. Internet is required for transcription, AI features, and sync, but recording can continue while those services are unavailable. Always get permission from everyone present before recording a meeting.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.9 — 2026-09-23

Shared recordings now play both sides of the conversation, with synchronized microphone and computer audio. Playback controls keep both tracks together for play, pause, seeking, and speed changes.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-15

Uploads now finish reliably, meetings moved to Trash stop retrying, and the app gets smoother, more native-feeling controls.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-11

Pause and resume note taking without ending your meeting, with a roomier live transcript and improved controls.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-08

Recordings now remain safe during connection outages and are compressed after capture to reduce storage and upload size. Audio playback adds a draggable seek bar and speeds up to 2×. AI data-sharing choices can be remembered on this device. This update also improves reliability for long recordings.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-07

Add photos, namecards, PDFs and text files to your meetings while recording or afterwards. Attachments stay private and retry uploads when connectivity returns. Meeting headers now scroll with your notes, and attachment previews have clearer controls. This update also includes offline recording and transcript-recovery improvements.
