### 1/5 — The app doesn’t work anymore

The app is rubbish. It sometimes works but usually just hangs on the apps home page and there’s nothing you can do. Newsquest still happily take your money every month though, even with a non-functioning app.

**Developer response:** Hi Robert, we're sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with the app. Could you please try clearing the app cache, then uninstalling and then reinstalling the app as this may resolve the issue.

The app is terrible to use but since it appears to have not been updated in 3 years it’s not surprising

Very dated app. You also have to enter an Astute Card number to be able to use the app on multiple platforms. The publishers (Newsquest) - even the editor himself - show contempt for the reader by not even bothering to reply to emails. It's still not sorted out after more than two months! It's no wonder that circulations of local papers are falling; and with an app of this quality and from the attitude of the editor downwards, this newspaper deserves to fail.

### 2/5 — On the latest iOS cannot see the Canvey version

I have this app on two iPads one on iOS 11, and an older on on the previous version. The old iOS shows all 3 versions of the paper, while on iOS 11 you can only see Basildon and Southend. As we live in Castle Point but not Canvey, it is necessary to read either Southend or Canvey versions and skim the other other one to ensure I don’t miss anything relevant for Castle Point.
Could you please investigate this discrepancy.

Dose what it says on the tin! but thats just that having to pinch and zoom can get tiresome where other newspaper apps its seemless. Also in a future update to be able bo but just one copy of the paper instead of buying a subscribtion would be good!

A well presented and easy to use version of the local Echo.  Fairly intuitive to use. Subscriptions automatically renew, but its fairly easy to turn this off if you prefer to renew the sub yourself. I was puzzled at first that having subscribed to the Southend Echo I seemed to be reading the Basildon version, but actually you get three copies of the Echo each day - Basildon, Southend and Castle Point! You just have to scroll through the copies to find the one you want.
