### 4/5 — A great App!

*2020-02-03*

2020 update: What happens ? Although I downloaded it again, some things begin to go wrong. And the support does not reply ! Bad News....
Original review : So many inventions here - as in the other Holderness apps - with tons of creative possibilities. This is my favourite from the package (then comes Johnny and Cristalline). Of course, some won't use this or that, and some will say that Strymon pedals sound better! but that's not the point: we enter here in a new universe, a new direction for sound processing, and what that's very promising! A pedal doing this should cost more than 1000$.
Plus: an incredibly dedicated support. Thanks a lot Mr Rice.

**Developer response:** The latest updated version of Echo Pad v1.8.9.5 fixes the stability issues that were causing problems running Echo Pad on recent versions of iOS. You should now be able to use Echo Pad and all of the other Holderness apps again with Interapp Audio hosts like AUM and Audiobus, or with USB audio interfaces, etc.

### 4/5 — Great little effect but.......

*2018-10-24, version 1.8.9.3*

Great little effect but for some reason as soon as I bring it into the chain it cuts out my Bluetooth headphones, then as soon as I close it, they work again. I would have given it 5 stars but for this 🤔 any chance this little glitch can be fixed?

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-09-18, version 1.8.8*

Best delay on iOS. Definitely spend some time exploring its hidden bits—there’s a lot on offer! Like, way way more than you would think from the simple interface. Before Holderness branched out into separate effects apps, Echo Pad was his development playground.

### 5/5 — Amazing Echo effect

*2015-08-05, version 1.8.8*

Amazing Echo app with a lot of features and tweakability.

### 5/5 — Still the best of it's type

*2015-07-18, version 1.8.8*

Although released in Jan 13, this is still a standout product. As subtle or as mad as you want it. Remains a must-have.

### 5/5 — Very useful app!

*2015-02-04, version 1.8.6*

I use a fraction of what this app can do. Mainly, I hit the random generated effects, ??? and !@#?, and work with that. Great for adding spice/weirdness to my live electronic music.

### 5/5 — Too good

*2015-02-01, version 1.8.5*

Seriously... The echos can get as crazy as you want to be. Dubs my face off its so good. You could probably make your brain explode with this so be careful.

### 5/5 — Glitching...

*2015-01-31, version 1.8.6*

Revised review - I had some glitching issues with this app on phone (4s) but on iPad this is an excellent tool. Really useful interface with massive scope for experimentation and surprise, but also allows me to dial in very specific delays. Highly recommended. I've also purchased the other apps from this developer now, I'm very impressed with his work.

### 5/5 — Superb FX

*2015-01-29, version 1.8.6*

This is great. Sounds good, is hugely versatile and the interface is so big and touchable that its a piece of cake to use in a live situation without having to concentrate too much on where you're putting your fingers. definitely my favourite Holderness app

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2015-01-28, version 1.8.6*

Amazing part of my audiobus chain.....great sound!

### 5/5 — amazing amazing app

*2015-01-28, version 1.8.6*

that is why i am writing a second review. :)

### 5/5 — I appreciate the dev!

*2015-01-28, version 1.8.6*

Solid app. Recommended.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2015-01-27, version 1.8.6*

Great effects app! A really great tool from an awesome developer!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2015-01-27, version 1.8.6*

I've spent a lot of time and attention (and money) on gear over time; Echo Pad has a cool character and quality. I go to this quite often. Visually fun too!

### 5/5 — Works well

*2015-01-27, version 1.8.6*

The app works well and works as advertised. Developer seems to care about user feedback.

### 5/5 — Fab

*2015-01-27, version 1.8.6*

Fantastic app, very versatile and if you want, as mad as a thimble full of elephants.

### 5/5 — Advanced delay effect-low device footprint

*2015-01-27, version 1.8.6*

Another perfect complimentary effect for any ios DAW, or even for recording on external gear.

If you understand what I just said. You probably want this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs to be updated

*2020-05-23, version 1.8.9.3*

Don’t bother getting this if you’re on iPadOS.

### 1/5 — Most User-Unfriendly App I've Ever Seen

*2016-06-06, version 1.8.9.2*

DO NOT BUY THIS!! Absolutely awful with no useful instructions, only links to stupid time-wasting video tutorials. Really stupid waste of money.

### 1/5 — Leider....

*2014-12-14*

Kann man Apps nicht zurückgeben!!!

### 1/5 — Waste

*2014-02-13, version 1.7*

Waste of time and money

### 1/5 — Schlampige App

*2013-06-29*

Äh erst einmal bypassing – Effekt off.

Fazit: So will man nicht arbeiten!

### 1/5 — Worthless app

*2013-02-03, version 1.3.1*

Doesn't even know how to communicate with audio bus
Don't waste time to purchase get live fx

### 1/5 — How many of you paid for app which doesn't work on your 3GS?

*2013-01-29, version 1.3*

Slows down mine 3GS, hangs and doesn't work. As there no free version to review the app, and no way to get refunded, I simply feel being robbed. Paid for nothing.

### 1/5 — May be its me?

*2013-01-04, version 1.2*

But I cannot get it sound anything like the video!

### 2/5 — Never worked good for me

*2015-12-22, version 1.8.9*

Always freezes my iPad nice features though iPad 4

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Third positive review I’ve written that has not been posted

*2024-05-25, version 1.8.9.6*

This is a fabulous app and it has been ever since the day it came out. It was one of the first actual delay apps ever made for iOS and with the new updates it’s insanely fabulous still. It is not overpriced. It doesn’t have a disgusting overpriced subscription plan. You need this app if you make any iOS and I have been making music not only on hardware, software, but iOS since 2011. Get this app you won’t be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Great sound production apps!

*2024-05-02, version 1.8.9.6*

Thanks for all of the updates so suddenly after 7 years. Welcome back!!! 👏🏽

### 5/5 — All these years later

*2020-08-15, version 1.8.9.3*

This thing is still pretty cool. Can we maybe get an updated echo pad 2??

### 5/5 — Ich liebe diese App. ❤️

*2019-11-30*

Bitte als Audiounit !!!

Danke

### 5/5 — still the best live dub delay on iOS

*2018-04-17, version 1.8.9.3*

Great for live dub. The pitch changes with the delay time, like a proper old delay. Many apps get that wrong. Feedback control goes to way over 100%, allowing immediate self-generation. Works fine on iOS 11.

### 5/5 — Superb audio effect

*2016-08-23, version 1.8.8*

This is one of the original great iPad effects apps and still working very well for real-time audio manipulation.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2016-05-28, version 1.8.9.2*

Great update. Seems smooth as silk now. Catapult towards the top of the FX apps. Nice job, appreciated.
Havin some fun now!

### 5/5 — Super Tool

*2016-05-20, version 1.8.9.1*

There is no app that gets as many feature packed updates as Echo Pad. This one is worth way more than the asking price. Regular updates with new features, effects, and improvements are the hallmark of this app.

If you create or play music of any kind, develop or utilize sound effects, or just like to experiment with sound, you should have Echo Pad in your tool set. Versatility, stability, and high quality make it a must have. As a bonus, few developers are more tuned-in to the needs and desires of their customers — very refreshing.

### 5/5 — Delay Echo Reverb!!!

*2016-05-17, version 1.8.9*

All Holderness apps are fantastic. I use the Echo Pad primarily for guitar. Great presets for plug n play. Plenty of tweakability options also regular updates. Five stars all round

### 5/5 — fonctionne bien

*2016-02-25*
