## What is Echo?

Record anything, then read it back as searchable text, all on your iPhone. Echo is a voice recorder with on-device transcription: no time limits, no account, no cloud. Echo never uploads your recordings or your transcripts.

Record without limits
- Unlimited recording length and number of recordings
- M4A (AAC), WAV or lossless FLAC, mono or stereo
- Pause, resume and drop markers on the moments that matter
- Keeps recording in the background and on the Lock Screen
- Saves automatically if a call or a low battery interrupts you
- A live waveform that follows your voice

On-device transcription
- Turn speech into text on your iPhone, no internet needed
- Tap any line to jump to that moment; the line you hear is highlighted
- Copy or edit the transcript and share it as text
- Export transcripts as SRT subtitles or as a PDF
- Works in many languages, depending on what your device supports

Widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen
Start a recording, see today's recording time or open your latest recordings right from your Home Screen, with Lock Screen widgets too. Widgets need iOS 17 or later.

Find anything you said
- Search across every title and every transcript
- Folders, color tags, notes and favorites
- Recently deleted: a recording you delete stays there for 30 days, so you can bring it back

Listen your way
- Playback speed from 0.5x to 3x, skip silence, A-B repeat, skip back and forward
- Background playback, a sleep timer and markers on the waveform

Edit WAV recordings
Trim, split, delete sections and fade, right on your iPhone. Every edit is saved as a new recording; the original stays.

Your recorder, your look
Choose a color theme and a waveform style for the recorder, in light or dark mode.

Private by design
- Recording, transcription and editing work offline, on your device
- App lock with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode; a recording in progress keeps going while Echo is locked
- Hide Echo's preview in the app switcher
- Back up everything to one file. Before a restore, Echo shows what will be added and skips the recordings you already have
- Import audio files from your phone and transcribe them

Echo Pro
A one-time purchase unlocks every theme and waveform style, app lock, and SRT and PDF transcript export.

Who it is for
Students recording lectures, professionals capturing meetings, journalists transcribing interviews, musicians saving song ideas, and anyone who wants a fast, private voice recorder.

Echo works on iPhone and iPad, in 12 languages. Call recording is not supported, in line with platform rules and consent laws. Transcription runs on your device and is not always perfect: availability and accuracy depend on your device and language. Recording always works.
