## What is Echoes Daily?

Echoes are reminders to yourself about anything important enough to bear repeating.

Build a library in your own words: things you have learned, quotes that have stayed with you, values you want to keep close. Think of each Echo as a note from your past self to your future self. Each day, Echoes selects a short list drawn from your library and presents it as a simple checklist.

Check things off as you read them. That is the whole interaction.

NO STREAKS. NO PRESSURE.

Echoes is not a habit tracker. There is no score, no history, and no guilt. Missing a day does not break anything. Yesterday's list is gone. Only today matters.

FREQUENCY, NOT SCHEDULING

Instead of scheduling reminders for specific times, you set how often each Echo should appear: Occasionally, Now and then, Every few days, Often, or Daily. A probability-based algorithm handles the rest. An Echo you have not seen in a while is more likely to appear today.

YOUR WORDS, ONLY

Every Echo is something you wrote yourself. There is no suggested content, no templates, and no default library to work around.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-05-04

- Smarter frequency picker. Selecting how often an Echo appears is now clearer:  five labeled steps replace the slider, and a short description tells you exactly what each setting means.
- Show or hide completed Echoes. A toggle at the bottom of today's list lets you hide items you've already checked off. Your preference is remembered. After finishing everything, tap "Show completed" on the done screen to review what you accomplished.
- Tapping a checkbox takes effect immediately. Tap again to uncheck.
- List order stays stable. Echoes no longer move when checked off. The list stays in the same order throughout the day.
- Day reset time now works correctly. Custom reset times (set under Settings) were not being respected in some cases. Fixed.
- Appearance changes take effect immediately. Switching between Light, Dark, and System mode in Settings now updates the screen without needing to close and reopen Settings.
- Sample Echoes appear right away. Loading sample Echoes from Settings now adds them to today's list immediately, without needing to reset the day.
- Duplicate sample Echoes are skipped. If you load samples more than once, only new ones are added.
- Various small fixes to text layout, keyboard dismissal, and background behavior.
