### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-21

• Redesigned the getting-started experience. In addition to pasting a website or feed URL, you can now choose 1–5 recommended sources across technology, design, and business.
• Reorganized the sidebar into two collapsible groups: Daily Reading for All, Today, and Unread; and Personal Library for Bookmarks, Read Later, and Notes.
• Added a Service Status page that brings together the availability of article translation, AI, local models, data sync, and PRO access, with shortcuts to the relevant settings.
The reader now distinguishes preformatted prose from actual code blocks. Regular text wraps naturally and supports translation instead of being incorrectly displayed as code.
• Improved code block interactions with hover and keyboard-focus copy controls, clearer copy confirmation, and better horizontal scrolling for long lines.
• Automatically corrects preformatted prose that was misidentified as code in older cached articles while preserving genuine commands and source code.
• Optimized image decoding and caching to reduce memory usage when reading articles with many high-resolution images.
• Refined cursor behavior to feel more native on macOS and fixed a lingering hover state after collapsing categories in the narrow sidebar.

• Added Immersive Reading on mobile, which hides the top toolbar. Tap the article to reveal the controls. The mode remains active when switching articles, and the Back action exits Immersive Reading first.
• Improved performance for very long and image-heavy articles with adaptive lazy rendering and simplified parsing to reduce lag.
• Enhanced image previews with double-tap zoom and swipe-down dismissal, plus smoother coordination between zooming, gallery navigation, and edge bounce.
• Improved reading continuity on mobile by locating the current article more accurately when returning to the article list.
• Redesigned mobile subscription drawer interactions with smoother category expansion and collapse. Expansion states are remembered, and the category containing the current feed opens automatically.
• Improved feed icon loading to reduce flickering when opening the drawer.
• Enhanced accessibility by adding selected, expanded, and button semantics to article lists, subscription categories, sidebars, and settings.
• Improved handling of malformed content by blocking invalid or unsafe article links, image URLs, and feed addresses, while preventing malformed attachments, synced data, or AI service URLs from causing crashes.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-14

After two feature-packed releases, we slowed down a little for 1.5.1 and spent more time polishing the everyday reading experience.

• AI Overviews can now be generated automatically when you open an article for the first time. Overviews, explanations, and follow-up answers also use your selected target language. Full-size images, word clouds, and article share cards can now be saved locally.
• We also refined search, article-list performance, word-cloud rotation, and mobile navigation. The macOS menu bar menu now includes icons, along with a number of compatibility and stability fixes.

This release may not look dramatically different at first glance, but we hope it feels a little better every time you open EchoPie.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-12

• The reader now supports mathematical formulas, Mermaid diagrams, syntax-highlighted code, collapsible sections, definition lists, navigable footnotes, and richer image captions and links.
• Selected text can be searched with Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, or Baidu, with results opening either inside EchoPie or in an external browser. On desktop, shortcuts now search the active article list or reader.
• The mobile image gallery supports interactive swipe navigation. A new button returns to the top when you reach the end of an article, while iOS edge navigation and long-article scrolling have also been refined.
• A new empty-library guide lets new users add their first feed or import an OPML file directly. No account is required, and data remains on the device by default.
• On macOS, the Dock and menu bar icons can be managed separately. When reopened from the menu bar in a multi-display setup, EchoPie appears on the current screen.
• Notes now have a separate sync control. Image sharing and AirDrop reliability have also been improved on iOS and macOS.
• Larger mobile touch targets, better accessibility information, and more responsive settings and narrow-window layouts improve everyday use.
• Font selection is now available to everyone. PRO prompts for sync, AI translation, and explanations now provide context for the action being requested.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-08

• Added Notes: highlight passages, attach notes, remove highlights, or use configured AI to explain selected text. Notes can be managed in a dedicated view and synced across devices.
• Added direct OPML URL import with source-count confirmation before importing subscriptions.
• Added three new word cloud styles: Orbital Index, Editorial Constellation, and Reading Sonar. Styles can be selected in Settings, synced across devices, and automatically follow the light or dark theme.
• Increased the mobile word cloud height and fixed auto-rotation not resuming after drag inertia on desktop and mobile.
• Improved text selection with better drag handling, horizontally scrollable action menus, edge fades, text scaling, and spacing.
• Improved mobile reading: dragging past the top or bottom of an article on iOS now moves to the previous or next article, and the image preview close button now respects the safe area.
• Added clear completion feedback for OneDrive, WiFi, and WebDAV sync.
• Refined desktop middle-pane resizing and minimum width, PRO plan presentation, and purchase restoration feedback.
