### 2/5 — Buggy like anything ECW

*2023-01-22, version 3.7.11*

the unreliable nature of anything related to ECW is CRAZY. We have been using ECW for over four years and have repeatedly observed a pattern where a new feature is released and initially appears to be beneficial, but upon implementation, it is discovered that it only functions intermittently. The program itself needs a complete overhaul and redesign by someone who has a comprehensive understanding of patient care and not just a collection of buggy features put together haphazardly

### 2/5 — Documents

*2021-01-21, version 3.7.4*

After our IPads did the most recent update, when we ink and send a document to our providers, they are not able to ink. When they try it shuts down their whole system and they have to reboot it.
Any suggestions? I have deleted and reinstalled the app and the problem is still there

### 3/5 — Slow

*2020-03-03, version 3.6*

Update - they have fixed the documentation issue noted below and the iPad Pro functions properly with Face ID. I have not updated to the new version as of yet. I will have to install it on my other iPad to be sure no critical functions were lost.

I have two iPads, one on version iOS 13 and the other on iOS 12. You no longer are able to rapidly view documents within the iPad. It appears that it has to load each document that you tap, which waste valuable time before entering a room when trying to quickly review documents.

### 2/5 — usable

*2019-11-08, version 3.5.2*

ok if traveling or away from the office for very basic tasks, messages, labs
and document review. very poor handling of prescriptions. cannot see prescription logs. please fix this app. e11 much easier to use with access to more features on my chromebook. would help if you could run e11 on Chrome on iPad

### 2/5 — Not great

*2019-11-07, version 3.5.2*

Troublesome. Glitchy

### 2/5 — Not really free

*2019-10-02, version 3.5.1*

It’s $25 per month per provider. To use a program we’re already paying for.

### 2/5 — Aug 2019 Update slows app

*2019-08-16, version 3.5*

I think eCW (actually eCTouch) is a great app - far better than the desktop version. However, the Aug 2019 update brings closing the note and closing certain text boxes to an absolute crawl. I wish I could revert to the previous version while waiting on the developers to fix the bug!

### 2/5 — Very slow

*2019-01-10, version 3.4.1*

Even though the app has good features and short cuts, it does not keep up with the speed in which we would like to navigate. It often takes several seconds to change to the next touch command. It is unfortunate that eCW is not able to better enhance the program.

### 2/5 — Does not work with Face ID yet

*2019-01-09, version 3.4.1*

This is an overall good mobile alternative to the full version of the EMR, but after recently moving to the new iPad Pro, the inability to use Face ID has been a major set back.

Update: Will downgrade from 3 to 2 stars. Face ID support was added a couple of days ago but the application crashes when trying to set it up.

### 2/5 — Loses documents

*2018-08-13, version 3.3.1*

First let me say I have loved eClinicalTouch. I have found it very convenient to have access to all my records as long as I have my iPad. I am able to keep working even when out of the office.

While the latest version still works well with telephone encounters, completing notes, billing from the hospital or surgery center there is one major problem. It keeps loosing documents when you review them. I first discovered this while on vacation. After reviewing a few hundred documents we discovered at least 1/3 were being lost and getting the dreaded “error occurred while downloading document or document not found”.

First I was told they were working on a revision for 3.3. However 3.3.1 did not correct the problem. Next I was told to Uninstall and reinstall. This also did not work.

I can handle crashes and restarting but losing documents is bad. We are on week #3 with no fix.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — EClinicalMobile app is horrible

*2021-12-05, version 3.7.11*

EClinicalMobile app is so unreliable. It glitches all the time. Sometimes it can’t find pharmacies. Other times it can’t send in medications because it glitches and stalls. It’s slow to function too! It’s a crap shoot if it is going to work or not. This problem has been going on for years. I wish they would revamp the program!

### 1/5 — Very primitive

*2021-02-08, version 3.7.6*

There is no way to see and work with fill schedule if you are not a provider. Usually this function belongs to secretary, not a doctor.

### 1/5 — SLOW!

*2020-08-08, version 3.6.4*

Impossibly slow. I can not even comprehend how ECW expects you to actually get work done with this app. Extraneous, repetitive steps, with long waits in between. There are a lot of features, which in my opinion, are there to check the box that they are available. But, PLEASE, make them usable by increasing the speed in which to access!

### 1/5 — Simply awful

*2020-07-28, version 3.6.4*

This app is so unorganized and inefficient. It barely rates one star. Not very helpful and leaves much to be desired. Needs to be totally revamped to be more effective. It is better than nothing but just by a small margin.

### 1/5 — When you update make sure it works!!!!!

*2020-03-03, version 3.6*

Just updated this morning and now when I go to prescribe medication a warning pops up and it tells me its already in the medication list and do I want to prescribe it, yes or no. I click yes and it never populates. Can you please make sure things work before you put out an update. Absolute nonsense

### 1/5 — Takes a lot of time to complete a chart!

*2019-11-03, version 3.5.2*

Too many clicks and many functions are not available for an I-Pad version! Lousy to say the least! I would not recommend it to anyone!

### 1/5 — Slow Since Recent Update

*2019-10-28, version 3.5.1*

After a recent update loading documents, which used to be very rapid is now very slow. I tried this on a iPad running iOS 10.0.2 and one running iOS 13.1.2 and the behavior is the same.

### 1/5 — Wont load documents

*2019-10-12, version 3.5.1*

Since the most recent update our scanned documents that are not in pdf form now show an error message. Since I cannot see needed patient docs, this app is USELESS

### 1/5 — Not Good

*2018-10-25, version 3.3.2*

Do not use. We are still having issues with Ink Edit and changes being lost. Eco has struggled with this feature for so long and it’s still not correct

### 1/5 — Still lousy

*2018-08-23, version 3.3.2*

Anyone considering this should know it will log you out multiple times a day for no good reason, slow down while you are seeing patients and loose some of your documents and say they are unreadable. Customer support will always try and close your tickets before they are even addressed, let alone fixed. Many functions do not work with the ipad version and you are told after buying the system “oh, that only works from the desktop”.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2020-02-10, version 3.5.2*

Mixes chrome and iPhone versions perfectly.

### 5/5 — Used eClinical Touch > 5 years

*2018-12-03, version 3.4*

I have used eClinicalTouch on my iPad for more than five years. You can do nearly everything the desktop version can do in regards to clinical documentation, ordering studies, prescription management, etc. I find this very useful, and that I can do things faster on my iPad than on the desktop version. The company (ECW) is excellent in keeping their product updated with all iOS updates as well.

I find practically only two issues that I have with the app, wherein these features can only be done with the desktop version. I have addressed this issues with them before, and I hope that they will be fixed in the near future. The issues are 1) Ability to see and read EKGs and Spirometry reports performed in our system. And 2) Ability to print and/or fax a cumulative laboratory report straight from the iPad.

Outside of these two features I can do most of the clinical things without any difficulty.

12/2018 Update: #2 request was just implemented. You can now print and/or fax a cumulative laboratory report straight from the iPad.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2018-10-02, version 3.3.2*

Works the way it should.

### 5/5 — EClinicalTouch excellent

*2018-09-13, version 3.3.2*

Great app for taking care of patients one on one.

### 4/5 — iPhone

*2020-10-12, version 3.6.5*

Do you plan on making the app for the iPhone compatible like the iPad? The iPad app works great for creating soap notes for providers, but the iPhone app is not useful to create notes as the hyperlinks don’t work and you can’t add much info into a visit.

### 4/5 — Much improved

*2020-04-21, version 3.6.1*

The program has improved significantly in the past year. The issue with crashing due to Face ID has been resolved. I use both sizes of the latest iPad Pro and the issue with screen resolution and different size configurations has been fixed. There are incremental improvements with each new release which are occurring frequently.

Two additions would be great:
1. The ability to do TeleHealth visits using the iPad
2. Being able to use the tablet in portrait mode when interviewing patients

This is a great program and can almost be used instead of the full computer program as your everyday EHR

### 4/5 — Good app

*2019-10-20, version 3.5.1*

I like using eClinical Touch in patient rooms to help show labs, verify historical data and review meds. Just learning how to better use it for all documentation. I would love to see a 10 year cardiovascular risk calculator added within the app.

### 4/5 — Ecwuser

*2019-01-10, version 3.4.1*

Great app but can be improved. Sometimes it just stopped working, u have to close the app and reopen. It can be enjoying but can be fixed easily.

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2021-02-10, version 3.7.7*

So and crashes it you try to use it with a mouse, specifically apples new magic keyboard with mouse. Please fix this. It would be very helpful.

### 3/5 — Full-time Use

*2020-03-03, version 3.6*

I use this app full-time while seeing patients. I take my iPad Pro 12.9 inch from room to room.

I love that I can take pictures that will not get saved to my personal camera or iCloud and instead will load right into the patient’s chart.

I love that FaceID logs me in without having to type a password multiple times an hour.

I love that I can see my daily schedule at a glance.

I can easily respond to messages. I can create telephone notes. I can sign PDF orders for PT, etc. and fax them to insurance right from the app. I can use the iPad’s “text replacement” feature to create my own dot phrases (this is probably what I love most about charting with iOS).

I do not love that I cannot see my schedule in a week calendar view. I do not love that I cannot edit appointments. I do not love that my only choices for making appointments are the “next available” slots.

Finally, since the most recent update on 03/03/20, I do not like that the display window for charting is super narrow. Both HPI and treatment sections (and everything in between) have very narrow windows which forces long text and the need to scroll up and down to see or edit what has been typed. On this huge iPad, I should not need to be scrolling. There is plenty of screen real estate. I hope this is a big that eCW will quickly resolve. If so, it will become a 4-star app. Until then, it is 3-star. Good enough for me to use daily, but annoying enough to wish it were better.
