### 1/5 — CRASHES EVERY 5 MINUTES

*2022-07-20, version 3.9.21*

Very dissatisfied with eCW iPad app. It crashes and we lose important patient photos after they’ve left, we lose important documentation. It freezes and crashes for no reason - regardless of having updated to the latest apple software version. Not time efficient in my clinic. We are looking at EMA by modernizing medicine instead.

### 1/5 — You will need a psychiatrist after using this a few days.

*2022-05-12, version 3.9.19*

This is the most maddening of the three ECW incarnations. I would recommend strong psychiatric drugs before downloading the app for the first time. The frustration with frequent freezes, disappointment in promised features that don’t work and the hopelessness of getting help from their tech-support will make you consider suicide.

### 1/5 — Needs some improvement

*2022-05-05, version 3.9.19*

We use this app everyday at work, and we constantly have issues with the app logging out of our accounts. We stay very very busy so it can be very frustrating to go to use the app just to find you’ve been logged out, after just logging in to do the task required for our job. Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon!

### 1/5 — Black screen when charting. Nice enhancement.

*2022-02-02, version 3.9.14*

With every new version of the software I look forward to new bugs that were not sufficiently vetted. This time when charting notes I get a black screen when I’m looking at the whole note and can only go from sub section to subsection. I’m holding my breath until the next upgrade.Reporting obvious bugs to Chicago just takes up my time and increases my blood pressure.

### 1/5 — Crap

*2021-11-24, version 3.9.13*

I can’t believe that we actually pay for this crap. The app is horrible. The new up date has made it impossible to just document a present history. How can any company be this inept? Don’t they even test the app prior to releasing it to paying customers?

### 1/5 — ECW unreliable

*2021-10-16, version 3.9.9*

This is a very unreliable and undependable platform for EMR. Our practice uses both PC and iPad’s and twice this week, we lost access to eCW from our iPads. Tech support is slow and some of us were told to update our iPads and download additional software that made no difference whatsoever. Turns out, after more than 6 hours of not being able to access eCW, we were told there was a “global” problem at eCW and that everything is fine for now. This kind of thing has happened also every time there is an update or upgrade. We are told that nothing significant will be noticed by the clinicians but in reality, it took more than several weeks before all of our devices could function with the latest update. Our practice is not asking much of eCW. Just having reliable 24 hour access to our medical records should not be such an ordeal.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-10-11, version 3.9.9*

Every time ecw does an update it makes everything worse!!!! You just updated this app to a new version and now my iPad doesn’t support the app?? How does this make sense? Stop trying to fix the little things and focus on the big issues!!!!

### 1/5 — Constant inoperability when switching between iPad and EHR

*2021-09-24, version 3.9.8*

EVERY time there is an update, I can’t use different devices. It’
S more convenient for me to move room to room with an iPad, but the login credentials aren’t even the same! You get locked out from using your account after every upgrade!

### 1/5 — ‘It’s just a bug!’

*2021-09-19, version 3.9.8*

Every single upgrade or new version of anything eCW releases has
ALWAYS just been same crap with more bugs! It would be Amazing if they would fix one version 100% BEFORE releasing the next one! eCW could be a great EMR system if people actually understand medicine a little more and stopped trying to release a new version. Support generally is useless and the common answer is “ Im sorry, it’s a new bug. We are aware of the problem and have programmers working on it. Unfortunately, I have no idea when it will be ready.”

### 1/5 — Terrible Ap

*2021-09-01, version 3.9.6*

EClinical apparently takes pride in making their Ap even less functional than their pc version which started out great and continues to become more onerous to use with each new version!

### 1/5 — Poor quality app

*2021-08-11, version 3.9.5*

I have never seen such poor quality app. I would love to get out of my contract with this company and move on to some better EMR. The tech support, which is in India, are clueless and worthless. Every time I try to view documents, the app quits and I have to log in all over again. This app gets 0 stars from me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2025-02-12, version 3.9.43*

Doubles or triples the number of steps you need to go through to perform the same operations under the old system. Still faster than a sloth.

### 1/5 — Poor imitation of Windows based design

*2024-08-02, version 3.9.39*

The web app is festooned with bugs, but one becomes accustomed. The IOS version is even more awkward and does not emulate the web version well at all. If the app is intended to be a user friendly web emulator it is a huge miss.

### 1/5 — Worst emr in the solar system

*2024-07-13, version 3.9.38*

ITS a nightmare

### 1/5 — Upgrades!!1

*2023-10-29, version 3.9.36*

Every time there’s an update, there are more problems. They can’t seem to get their act together with proper updates.

### 1/5 — Terrible EMR

*2023-08-28, version 3.9.35*

This is by far the worst EMR I’ve ever used using four different ones previously. It is not intuitive, there are way too many clicks involved. The mobile version is terrible would not recommend this to any provider.

### 1/5 — Worse nightmare ever

*2023-08-04, version 3.9.34*

I have been in a healthcare system for 16 years. This is the WORST emr program ever. The developers have no idea about what they created. Not even trying to improve.

### 1/5 — Hiccups at every step!

*2023-08-01, version 3.9.34*

ECW needs to get their act straight soon otherwise they will be left behind in electronic healthcare industry. Every step from logging in to browsing in different windows, site crashing, slow to respond and signing out just creates a longer wait for the patients and delay in finishing our work.
Very frustrating!

### 1/5 — ECW

*2023-05-19, version 3.9.31*

One word : Garbage
Too many bugs

### 1/5 — USELESS

*2023-05-18, version 3.9.31*

App is greatly flawed and not functional. Crashes easily ten times a day and they have no solution when you reach out. GET A NEW APP ECW! Or don’t sell it as a helpful tool when all it does is slow down our patient care.

### 1/5 — Worst ever

*2022-08-02, version 3.9.21*

Crushes all the time. Too much errors everywhere in both iOS and PC versions. Complicated and stupid. Not efficient at all. The support is awful. This product gives me and all our staff an anxiety and additional stress.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — eCW iPad App user since 2012

*2022-02-10, version 3.9.15*

10 year user. It has come a long way. Functionality has improved greatly. I use Eclinicaltouch every day. It’s Very convenient. All progress note documentation can be done on the fly. You can easily dictate with the native iPad microphone for the HPI, exam, A&P, etc., or add templates, or use your Order Sets (OS). There’s usually more than one way to order a Labs/DI, i.e., from templates, order sets, or directly from the treatment menu icons. You can start or refill medications from each of these places too, and from the ICW. You can do referrals, dictate and/or type letters. And any document you can print/fax, you can pinch and swipe your fingers out and then text, email, or airdrop that document. (My patients love this feature).

I still have things I wish ECT could do: 1) Messenger is still not working on the iPad. It only works on the web-based or desktop version. *(My iPad work-around for sending quick, secure text messages to patients, is to use the “Doximity” app and it’s texting features…—be sure to copy and paste the text message back on to eClinicalTouch for documentation). 2) Furthermore, we need to be able also to import more documents besides photos, like “pdf docs from Files, Acrobat or Dropbox, etc. right into the patient chart from the iPad. (My iPad work-around for this is to take a pic of the document then add it to EclinicalTouch)

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2021-09-17, version 3.9.8*

I have used eClinicalTouch App for several years and it works very well. Very fast and smooth operating system. Great layout. Makes tasking and documenting much easier. Having iPad app allows for keyboard shortcuts as well as easy and accurate dictation. There are a few small issues, but I could stay on this app for the rest of my career. It removes EMR frustration from my busy work day.

### 5/5 — Underrated

*2021-07-27, version 3.9.4*

I personally love the app and once you get the hang of it, you’ll find it very rewarding and satisfying😊

### 4/5 — Needs an ability to adjust microphone sensitivity

*2022-01-13, version 3.9.14*

Main thing this needs is an ability to adjust microphone… there are Multiple doctors in my practice. If one of them is dictating a room away, the microphone continues to listen and will not allow me to move the cursor after transcription. A major annoyance, but only an annoyance.

### 4/5 — Long Time User

*2021-11-04, version 3.9.11*

The app can be buggy at times but it is FAR from a 1 star app. I use this with ALL patient care and it is invaluable. Great to counsel and sign documents. Easy to send eRX (even scheduled meds). Overall a solid app!!

### 3/5 — You don’t know how good you got it

*2025-03-22, version 3.9.43*

You say version 3.9 is lousy? Just try version 4. It is HORRIBLE. It is HORRENDOUS. This version is a dream compared to the train wreck that is v4. Trust me, you got it good if your practice uses 3.9. Tell your IT people not to give in to the folly of the upgrade! It is the emperor’s new clothes. It will increase the complexity of documentation beyond belief. Expect to reset your work/life balance expectations if you upgrade.

### 3/5 — Keeps crashing

*2022-06-30, version 3.9.21*

It’s handy and nice to see EMR but keeps crashing every 2 people

### 2/5 — Unreliable

*2022-06-12, version 3.9.20*

And it crashed again! Yes, all my software updates are complete. I gave two stars because when it does work, it is a fairly decent app, although, not the easiest to navigate. Come on ECW, you are better than this.

### 2/5 — Iffy

*2022-06-02, version 3.9.20*

Definitely needs updating! It crashes a lot, it does not have a lot of functionality that it needs to be used every day, there are a lot of problems! Don’t bother asking tech support, they have no idea and you’ll waste half your day just getting them to understand what you’re asking.

### 2/5 — Unstable

*2021-08-13, version 3.9.5*

The new version is very unstable compared to previous version. It crashes and makes you sign in again about twice each hour- usually while in active use.
