Its absolutely amazing in getting users to spend a wholesome amount of time and still not end up with the desired schedule. Simple recommendation: Remove all the rules you got around scheduling, let users decide/create their own schedule, only disallow overlap, or gaps, do not EVER AUTOCORRECT coz your current logic in simple words Blows big time. ### 4/5 — Decent but could be so much better *2026-09-13, version 26.16.0* The app is pretty easy to use and the hours running and equipment trending is great! However many people want more info like if stage 2 heating is on or aux heating, without having to click through so many options. I also would request custom HOLD times that should be very simple to do. I have turned off all so-called in "Smart" comfort settings& it is still turning on by itself in my iPhone ProMax16. I even purchased more sensors and they are incorrect also and even teaching my presence in three privacy of my own home. A huge overreach on a smart electronic device. I think it could even be Resideo who is monitoring the therms homos in Phoenix for SRP & APS. I set our temperature at 72 and it changes to 68 degrees. We have 2 and both change. Our contractor that installed them has come out twice to set them up. It made it super annoying to even open because it now harasses me to verify my email every single time. NO! I refuse to verify it. Leave me alone and just let me access my thermostat! The app was already going downhill. This just made it so much worse. I do not have this app saved on an Authenticator, and I got tired searching for information on how to do that. Get Nest *2026-09-15, version 26.16.0* The app and thermostat are pretty easy to operate. However I have Hold Duration set to “Until You Change It” and it still changes on its own. This is beyond aggravating. I want it to let me control it 100%. It seems to be trying to guess my schedule. I like to turn down the temp about an hour before I go to bed and raise it a few degrees once I wake up. My schedules are not always the same so often times I wake up early on my days off because the house it too warm. Also, I have 2 additional temperature sensors in the house. I wish it had an option to set thermostat to operate off of one of the additional sensors at the push of a button instead of only on schedules. I have had this for over a year now. I have all automation settings and smart optimizations turned off and the thermostat will still change the temperature on its own. I hate sitting in my living room perfectly comfortable and a few hours later wondering why I’m suddenly freezing. I look at my thermostat and it has set its self 3 degrees cooler. I’m soooo annoyed and may either switch to Nest or just a dumb thermostat. Spoke with Ecobee support and they said my issue is tied to the sleep schedule (that I have disabled) changing the temperature. Schedules don’t work in my house as I have people that don’t go to bed until others are about to wake up for the day. They said you can not delete schedules and go full manual control. A year later and I still hate this product. It still changes settings on its own. I went all summer with it working fine. It got unusually cold outside this week, and I had to turn the furnace on. I set it to 72 and woke up on the morning to it being set to 67. I DO NOT WANT IT TO CHANGE IT’S SELF. This is the single most frustrating piece of technology that I own! Update: Two years later, had it working decent for a while. Has randomly started to change my set cooling temp in my house from 70 to 77 in the middle of the night. I love waking up sweaty. I haven’t changed anything. Support blames Apple Homekit. My phone is the only Apple product controlling it, and I only use the app. Not sure how Homekit is calling for temp changes while I’m sleeping and automation is as off as it can be. I still wish automation could be fully disabled. Time to abandon this company completely. I am glad I have stopped so many customers of mine from purchasing Ecobee. ### 1/5 — Stay Far Away *2026-09-13, version 26.16.0* Over a decade and still can’t get a simple schedule set, support is non existent, and now they are hounding us daily for personal information. Get rid of the freaking schedule and I may come back. If you want to manage your own cool and heat thermostat stay away from this app. They require a 24 hour schedule and it’s the most annoying thing I have ever encountered. Figures, this company’s service is the worst. Horrendous. _____ Out of the last fifty reviews for this thing only three have five stars —— a great many are one star. This tells you all you need to know about how abysmally bad this company is. So sad, had such potential, probably some billionaire owns and now ignores it. The worst of the worst. ——— I have Activity Alert on, someone came through my door, and I received the alert well more than five minutes later. This is seriously bad for security! This app doesn’t even have a defined way to do that. It’s very complicated and hidden between icons, which you have to press and learn how to use. It’s very technically challenging for older people. The thermostat and the app are almost constantly offline, the sensors don’t work properly, the thermostat shows wrong temperature. Month ago I would recommend the product but now I will recommend to avoid it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Ecobee app updates Aug 2026 *2026-08-29, version 26.15.0* I have installed 14 Ecobee thermostat models for friends and family since launch in 2014. In my view Ecobee thermostats still have the best Pro features for home heating and AC operation, and have proved reliable. About 2 years ago a nicely featured "Reports" section appeared on iOS and iPadOS. Sadly it graphed the thermostat's internal temperature sensor, not the display temperature that the thermostat is working to. The display and control uses the user defined participation of internal and remote sensors. This was the brilliant unique feature that made Ecobee such a success. Luckily the iPad app still has the original correct graph plot which also shows every sensors temperature as well as its "occupancy" status. The good news is the recent app update Aug 2026 has corrected the two year temperature graph error in “Reports” which is much appreciated. Excelente sistema ### 5/5 — Recent Update *2026-08-14, version 26.14.0* I noticed with the most recent update that the display is not showing that you’ve added that the fan run for a set time like 2 hours. Before the update if you wanted the fan to run for a set time then you went to the fan on the app and selected the fan to run for 2 hours. It would then show on the main screen that the fan was set to a certain time to run but now is showing the AC is set to a specific temperature instead like it does when you adjust the temperature to something different. Please fix as when it’s extremely hot and humid running the ran an extra time helps with the humidity. ### 5/5 — Easy install and intuitive interface *2026-08-13, version 26.14.0* After 36, years it seemed time for thermostat replacement. My body hurts from the chill because of the damage from my overwork when I was younger.
