Loved it up until that happened! ### 2/5 — Update for iOS 8??? *2014-09-21* This app is great when running properly but since updating to the new iOS, the app isn't as polished as it once was. Would still be nice to be able to control smart plugs, humidifier/HRV from the app! This app works very well for basic thermostat functions. It would be very nice to be able to control my smart plugs from the app. The web portal/website isn't very iPhone friendly so using the app for more functions would be much easier. ### 3/5 — Very clunky and un-iOS *2014-08-04* While I love the ability to control my thermostats from my iPhones, iPads, and Macs, the app is very clunky and the interface is NOT slick like iOS apps should be. Please give us a real native app, not this web app! The interface of the thermostat itself, while not fantastic, is way slicker than this app. ### 2/5 — Good TStat - Poor App *2014-06-06* I'm glad to have the exobee thermostat, as it was the only remote control tstat that would operated my complex system ..... but jeeze guys!! If you can make a great tstat, can the app to control it be ao tough? This app stinks. It locks up. I can change temp, but app remains at same temp as before. Now that I'm using the first iOS 8 beta, it doesn't go past the login screen. Would be nice to be able to change the schedule, which would look great especially in a much needed iPad version. ### 3/5 — App and Wall Differ *2014-04-13* Works great functionally, however I have 2 thermostats and the fan/cool/heat status icons do not seem to appear when controlling one of them so cannot tell if the fan/cool/or heat is actually on. So if we are away for a extended time we can't refresh the sir in the house. Otherwise a good app. ### 4/5 — Love Ecobee, but the app needs work *2014-03-09* The ecobee provides several conveniences and money saving options. It's been working great for us. As someone who works from a home office, my schedule changes daily. This gives me the convenience of adjusting the thermostat for days I'm on the road and for days I'm in the office all day. There are several limitations to this app that I think could be improved upon (which is why I gave it four stars). Very inconvenient for a paraplegic! ### 4/5 — Cool App *2013-10-30* I use this app on my iPhone to control my Ecobee smart thermostat - which is cool. I think Ecobee should have adopted the iOS style interface instead of copying the interface from the actual thermostat (thus forcing landscape only operation). When in portrait switch up the UI! I also don't understand why an iPad version is missing, perhaps they just don't have the staff to support it yet. Overall it works well and I can control my thermostat from anywhere hence 4 stars instead of 3. Full disclosure: I (still) have an iPhone 3S. Selecting and adjusting the heat or cool temp setting is a little tricky. Using this app, it was impossible to make any adjustments. I wrote Ecobee tech support and they made it clear and no uncertain terms that they couldn't care less! I should mention, that my mother, though elderly can see perfectly well, but she had trouble figuring out how to make I just mints to the thermostatthis using this app also.. Needless to say, I exchanged the ecobee for a honeywell and both my mother and I are easily able to adjust all settings using Honeywells iPhone app. ### 1/5 — Bleh, Goodbye Ecobee, hello Honeywell Lyric. *2014-07-24, version 2.3.1* After two months of owning a pair of Ecobee Smart Si thermostats, I'm officially done with this company, like I was with NEST before it. I gave this app a positive, hopeful four star review saying that the app needed a serious and major design overhaul, but in the two months time since then, Ecobee just sat on their laurels and twiddled their thumbs. To be honest, this app is really an ugly mess and it seems that Ecobee couldn't care less about its user experience. It doesn't use a clean iOS 7 design. It doesn't have a simple portrait view. It's not available for the iPad. And it simply takes too many taps to do any sort of function. I gave this company a chance but I'm moving on. Two months is an eternity in app years, especially for a young, growing company. So now I just got a new pair of Honeywell Lyric thermostats and not only is the hardware beautiful, but the app is gorgeous and incredibly functional. I can positively say that I'm liking it better than the NEST app, though both are beautifully designed. The Ecobee app, in contrast, isn't even in the same ballpark. Although time will tell, right now, count me as a happy Lyric owner and returned customer to Honeywell. ### 1/5 — Ugly app *2014-06-28* No portrait view almost impossible to manage more than 1 AC. Ugly UX ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2014-05-05* This worked great when we first installed it. It's the only one that works with a whole-house humidifier. However, this app hasn't been working for a couple of weeks now. The actual thermostat no longer functions properly either. When changing temperature, the app and thermostat will slide to change temp, but pop right back where it was. For instance, if current temp is 72 and I try to change to 68, I can slide the control, but when I take my finger off, it pops right back to 72. Up or down, no matter what the attempted change, just does not work anymore. Doesn't work 99% of the time! Called for support, service updated, but still doesn't work. Tried hard restart on phone for app, tried deleting and reinstalling the app -- doesn't work! ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2014-02-06* Adjusting the temp on the app does not always update the thermostat. Reliability is the primary reason for using ecobee versus other products such as Honeywell and others. Much easier than punching buttons on the wall, makes standing in front of the actual thermostat obsolete.
