I downloaded the app, and up until now it just keeps saying an OTP has been sent, but the SMS never comes. I phoned the helpline, and I didn’t get real time assistance, except “ we have escalated your query “. ### 1/5 — App with not send OTP over WiFi *2025-08-28* App with not send me an OTP over WiFi. What’s the point then? Communicating with the support team feels as if I am bothering them. ### 1/5 — Version 2.0.0 *2025-07-07, version v2.0.0* There’s great improvement! A few things need ironing out though. Not all EcoCash USSD options are available on the application e.g. one can’t buy a thirty dollar cents ($0.30) data bundle for 1 hour on the app. Looking up contacts should use the phone’s built-in contacts lookup just as the YoMix App does and the old EcoCash App used to. The current Contacts lookup is a buggy invented wheel e.g. it fails to look up a contact that has 3 names like Nyasha Ian Jones, as soon as the middle name is Ian is being typed in. ### 1/5 — Version 1.3.8 *2025-05-09, version v1.3.8* This replaced a working version with one that doesn’t even allow me to login coz of bugs! This is ridiculous! ### 1/5 — R *2025-05-05, version v1.3.7* You taking long to update your app. The ussd shows one can send money to other mobile wallets like Innbucks while the app itself doesn’t show that option. Please update the app and ensure we get the same Service as the one we get on ussd. ### 1/5 — Trash *2025-02-14* Signed up and everything waited for an OTP link or something never got it. Renewed it a couple times never got anything. Not worth rating ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2024-11-08* I should have kept the old ecocash app, this one is rubbish. I entered my phone number and ecocash PIN, and the OTP never comes! And the support team? Hopeless. Nothing has been resolved since 21 September 2024. It looks great but after entering my phone number and pin I was told to wait for an OTP to log in. It never came. It has never come despite me spending countless hours talking to the helpless staff at customer service. And trying everything they said to try. To make matters worse they told me to delete the old app. So now I have NO APP to use 🤯 I have never seen such a hopeless customer service team or new app in my life. Often the balance check doesn't work. And charges anyway. Your charges to function are understandle but why HIDE my balance. You are lucky you are a monopoly really. We use you cos we have to. I pray Innbucks growns and we can be rid of you for good. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t get passed security login *2026-04-15* Several for times, I am unable to enter the OPT, which is a security procedure. I deleted and reinstalled the app several times still cannot enter OPT. Therefore, it means I cannot use the app. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work without data even if you are using an Econet sim *2026-03-25* This EcoCash app is honestly super buggy and frustrating to use. It crashes, lags and sometimes just doesn’t respond properly when you need it most. What’s even worse is that you need mobile data for it to work if you don’t have data, the app is basically useless. That makes no sense, especially considering it’s tied to an Econet SIM. Services like this should work without requiring users to buy data every time they want to access their money. It defeats the whole purpose of convenience. Overall, really disappointing experience. It needs serious improvement. ### 1/5 — Email option needed *2026-03-25, version v4.0.0* This application needs to have an email option I’m struggling to access it because I’m outside of the country and it needs an otp now for it to open ### 1/5 — OTP *2026-03-16, version v4.0.0* You can not fill in OTP once sent. Furthermore, it has a whole tab for an NFC feature that it says iOS is incapable of supporting… why bother including it in the app at all then? Tried to contact support but they are not helpful. I went to the customer support for help and they are not responsive. I think you need to improve on that. Cause I’m now afraid to send a lot of money because I never know maybe it might arrive halved. The interface is simple and easy to use. The Mastercard feature is not working It requests a nickname and nothing after that.
