They developers need to consider the big picture. The best way to make an impact? Vote for pro-environment and socially sustainable initiatives. Vote for leaders who work towards these efforts. Hold the megacorporations and big polluters accountable. Anyway, the app is a good start to someone wanting to live more sustainably, but it’s just a start. ### 3/5 — Can’t log back in? *2020-09-04, version 2.18* Enjoyed it until it logged me out. Don’t recall my password but when I hit “Send sign in help” button it crashes ### 2/5 — Sketchy company *2020-08-17, version 2.18* I really liked this app at first but recently wanted to get out of paying my carbon off sets. No easy way to contact the company and im still being charged! Also didn’t receive my last reward. With the app getting slower and slower and the customer service non existent dont bother. It’s a great way to see the impact I have and to find new and different ways to mitigate that. I did submit to receive a reward and an update apparently threw that off. App developers have reached out and I am waiting to hear what will happen with reward. I have also been completing my habits for the past couple of weeks and the rewards points aren’t increasing. I’m hoping that will be fixed soon as well. All in all, great idea and an app that they seem to be working on to get the bugs out! ### 3/5 — Good App Needs Bug Fixes *2020-03-05, version 2.14* I have had the app for a while, and I can’t access any of my habits or rewards. I submitted my reward request about a month ago, and I still haven’t seen it. I tried several times setting a schedule because I bring my own cup/mug to work every day, but it never saved and kept kicking me back to the ideas page. Has definite potential to improve. It would also be nice to have more description on how to earn something. I’ve tried both restarting my phone and deleting and reinstalling the app which did not fix the problem. I love the focus on small choices and the instant gratification as well as the community aspect. this app is definitely for the absolute beginner and doesn’t really work if you have a more consciously sustainable lifestyle, or even if you don’t live in a city and work in an office. though it’s good that this exists to get people excited and to show how much small choices add up. I don’t really like that the app doesn’t ask people to look at the full picture; for example, bringing your own mug to a coffee shop is an achievement but choosing a sustainable fair-trade source of coffee isn’t. going vegan is an achievement but buying local & sustainable isn’t. I also don’t like that there are products for sale within the app — first of all I think in any eco friendly lifestyle it should be a high priority to buy fewer brand new things, regardless of their quality! and second, it seems like an oversight to ask people to reduce their own waste and driving mileage, but also try to sell them products that need to be packaged and shipped. this app is designed to broach these topics but shies away before really challenging its users. thank you ### 3/5 — I like it a lot, but... *2019-12-26, version 2.9* It gets kind of frustrating having to say that im vegetarian every day, especially since i can’t go to previous days and mark it if i forget to log a certain day. It would be easier if you have a set diet option so people with diet restrictions don’t have to repeatedly click the same task everyday (not necessarily vegetarian or vegan, just diets that have environmental impact like organic ect) It would also help if you added more task to expand the options of ways to help the environment. i really like the idea of the app and how it makes you want to do more for the environment by setting goals for rewards. Nice app, just a little aggravating on repition. ### 2/5 — Great idea but doesn’t work... *2019-12-08, version 2.9* I love the idea, and I really want to be able to use this app but it won’t let me create an account and the app itself just doesn’t work well and crashes/stops responding regularly. ### 2/5 — Isn’t comparable with iPhone SE *2019-11-27, version 2.9* I can’t use the app at all because too many of the action buttons are off centered and not on my screen. Very disappointing. It also keeps freezing a lot and is very jumpy. But that might be due to my phone being old... ### 3/5 — Great so far...although a bit confused *2019-11-22, version 2.9* I really like the app so far. It really does help to live a greener life. Although it is a bit confusing. There are some habits that I don’t check off but that’s because I never did them in the first place. For example, there is a habit where you are supposed to turn of your monitor when you leave work, but I don’t have one so it doesn’t really apply. But does the carbon footprint still count for that if I don’t check it off everyday? There should be a way to say what habits don’t apply so it is not calculated into the carbon footprint. I also feel like solar and other ways of energy should be included in the questions. It would also be helpful if you could put your diet because i’m vegan and I don’t always remember to check it off everyday. Overall I think this app is a great way to promote greener living and it has great potential. I think how it is used just need a little work. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fake!! *2021-12-28, version 2.23* I signed up for this app thinking it was really cool, and I paid about 2 years worth of carbon offsets before I decided to cancel it. When I try to cancel the subscription, the app glitches and doesn't allow me to cancel my subscription. I’ve tried emailing and calling the website, but the number they provide is “unallocated” which just made me very sussed out. I even caled the merchant number they provided on my bill, and a different company answered and they had no idea what I was talking about. When I disputed it with my credit card company and put a stop pay on the merchant, they charged me through a different second account…. The longer this goes on, the more shady I think it is. This app/website is probably fraudulent and just takes people’s money. Save yourself and do not download ! ### 1/5 — I can’t make my info accurate *2020-04-17, version 2.15* My family and I are vegan and i can’t just automatically factor that into my daily impact?? I have to select every day that I did that? It also asks how i heat my home- I don’t. That’s not an option. I live in the tropics and don’t need to heat my home. It asks if I have A/C, and I do but only in the bedrooms. I can’t customize that either. This is just the basics. Way more issues than just this. Deleted soon after opening. ### 1/5 — Disappointing! *2020-04-02, version 2.15* I’ve been using this App for months. When I got it I was so excited. It’s really a great way to track my habits and see where I could improve. I was ranking in at 331st last year, and now I rank at 62nd. I raved about it to my Friends and it actually got them interested in cutting down on their foot print. Until now. I had in the past saved up my credits to donate to the charities offered, but I was saving my Eco Credits to get one of the travel utensils for a friend who eats out often. My goal was 1,400, I saved up 1,145 I was almost there. I open the app today and the credits were gone. No email, or notification, so I go threw the “reward rules”, your credits can be taken away at any time for NO reason. Give me a break! I liked this app as a way to track my progress on my phone, and encourage my friends, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. Between this rude awakening, and the constant pop ups every time you log a habit, it’s not worth the space on your phone. If my friends need help staying accountable and even rewards for reaching their goals, I’ll be doing a better job than this app. **Developer response:** Hello – we first and foremost want to apologize for your challenges around rewards. User experience is our number one priority and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience you experienced. We had a bug pop up when we pushed a recent release that was affecting reward points and redemptions. We identified the issue late last week and are working on a fix. Thanks! ### 1/5 — Super slow and buggy *2020-01-22, version 2.10* I really like the idea of this app. However the app is terrible to work with, it used to be quicker and less buggy but they pushed an update and it has since been almost unusable. When you mark a task complete it starts to try and pop a modal to show it is complete, this takes about 5-10 seconds and often freezes. Also whenever I try to redeem any points, no matter which one I select the confirm purchase always shows the lowest redemption prize (phone wallpaper) Will be deleting app until it can be fixed ### 1/5 — Help *2020-01-09, version 2.9* I really liked the app it works fine for me but when I got 1800 points I couldn’t get anything they told me I would get an email but I never did they took my points so I can’t even try again also I don’t see a email that I can ask for help ### 1/5 — Really wish it worked *2019-12-24, version 2.9* Can’t even create an account without it crashing or getting stuck on loading screen. I have downloaded it a few times, created my profile every time and it keeps showing 0 carbon emission. It doesn’t let me complete the information about the habits and the support website didn’t work either. I’m very disappointed ### 1/5 — I want to love this app *2019-11-25, version 2.9* I want to love this app, but it simply doesn’t work. Nothing loads or saves or updates. It’s painfully slow, and doesn’t record any of the data I punch in. Stinks because it’s a great idea, but it absolutely doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Great concept, but poor follow through *2019-11-21, version 2.9* I LOVE the concept but the photo scanner doesn’t work. It needs to have better sensing of what’s in the picture. I scanned my shoe to see if it works and it said my shoe is made of plastics 5 & 2, which is false. Please fix this because people need this app to work effectively! ### 1/5 — November ‘19 update is catastrophic *2019-11-08, version 2.6* I really liked using this app; it seemed to be increasing the number of days I ate vegetarian and completed other eco-friendly habits. The app was completely overhauled and now it’s drastically less convenient and it takes five times longer to log daily habits than it used to, even when it doesn’t make you watch ads after logging, which it now sometimes does. I decided to stick with it for a few days because I’d been saving up points for reusable K-cups I could bring to work to avoid using the disposables they provide there, and now that I have enough points I can’t even redeem them —every time I try to select the cups, the app asks me if I’m sure I want to redeem 25 points for the winter iPhone wallpaper, which I definitively do not.
