I contacted customer service TWICE behind this issue with my account via email, because they made it to where you can NOT talk to them over the phone. BAD BUSINESS!!! Signing up with them was the WORSE decision I have made in my entire life! They said they were going to refund me the money that THEY STOLE FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT, and I have it in an email, as well as remove any vehicle on my EcoToll account. They removed my account and still charging my bank account til this day for a vehicle that is no longer in their system as active! I had to file claims and disputes with my bank against these FRAUDULENT CHARGES FROM ECOTOLL! I might even have to close my bank account due to them stealing my money. WHAT IS WRONG WITH DELETING MY DEBIT CARD OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM??? WHY DID YOU MAKE IT TO WHERE A CUSTOMER CAN NEVER REMOVE THEIR DEBIT CARD OFF OF THE ECOTOLL APP??? WHY AM I STILL BEING CHARGED FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS NO LONGER ACTIVE??? WHY ARE YOU STEALING MONEY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT??? I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE THAT I KNOW TO THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ### 2/5 — App details incomplete *2022-02-25, version 1.0.2* - missing details - no contact info - created account on their web site still not received email confirmation - what are the fees - states can use even if you have a fasttrak account No details on advantage to use if you have fasttrak Seem to work with using automotive license plates. So if you travel in commuter lane with out fastrak you will pay the toll. Seem ok for users visiting Ca but does not give the fees on top of the toll. This app was advertised by Waze that brings up another issue the icon in waze and app store do not match. ### 5/5 — Works in California! *2022-02-16, version 1.0.1* Paid my toll via an app! Didn’t have to deal with customer support people at all. Signed up, drove, in a couple of days the tolls posted on my account in the app. Charged me once the tolls posted, so I didn’t have to front the money. FYI, drove in Orange County. Happy about the new way to deal with tolls and not wait for things to come in the mail. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Stole my money! *2025-07-28, version 1.5.7* Never download this app. It doesn’t do anything that EZPass, paying by cash, or even mailed toll bills can’t do. Also they charged me after I deleted my account and didn’t respond to any attempts to reach out to customer service. Just don’t get it. Please reach out to our customer support at support@ecotoll.io and we can provide a refund if our services did not meet your needs. Please note that we do not charge customers for tolls incurred after you request account deletion, however, due to the nature of tolls sometimes being delayed we do keep your payment active to make sure we are able to settle any tolls that come in late on your behalf. I hope this provides some clarification. ### 1/5 — Can’t cancel and getting charged for returned rental *2025-01-04, version 1.5.6* I downloaded this app, got charged the $3 fee, and registered a rental for two days… then realized i can pay toll directly, so never actually used the account. Cancelled account but am getting charged tolls for rental that was returned two months ago. I downloaded the app I uploaded my credit card. I got to Logan airport. I opened up the app to put my license plate in and I’m told that it doesn’t work in the Northeast. Rented a car and set it on the app. All the charges went to the rental company that passed down the charges to me with a large premium. Everyone used Ecotolls. App never worked. Everyone was charged through the rental companies including all the convenience fees.
