## What is edEdit?

edEdit is a native text editor for Mac and iPhone/iPad that brings notes, Markdown, and source code editing into one app.

This update brings several big features:

• SFTP remote editing (Pro): Connect to your server and browse, open, and save remote files directly — no more manual up/downloads.
• Hex / binary editor with Data Inspector (Pro): View and edit any file by offset/hex/ASCII, and instantly decode the bytes at the cursor (integers, floats, and more).
• Smoother Markdown: .md files now open in rendered preview by default. Switch the default to source mode in Settings, or toggle anytime from the toolbar.
• Privacy: Added optional, anonymous usage analytics to help us learn which features matter most. No personal data or file contents are collected, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings.
• Various performance and stability improvements.

• Sharing image-rich notes from Apple Notes no longer hangs the share sheet — fixed a memory blow-up and now preserves the original HEIC/JPEG instead of re-encoding to bulky PNG.
• Long-press any inline image in the editor to drag it to a new position; the underlying Markdown updates automatically.
• Free tier is now unlimited notes; tags are capped at 10 (lift the cap with Pro).
• Free tier now includes Google AdMob ads on launch and occasionally between editor sessions; Pro removes all ads.
• Pro features filled out: per-note Face/Touch ID lock, Regex search, PDF/HTML export, editor themes & fonts.
• Fixed the Regex toolbar icon disappearing after a tap; assorted stability improvements.
