The last information to me was that a new version is coming soon in 2026 but I stay skeptical. Too often I contacted the support without any enhancement. Newsletters with discount offers come almost weekly but the urgent needed improvements are rarely. But the mandatory update thing should be something we can truly disable. If they push another one, everything could break again - and nothing says bad client shoot than hauling a ton of equipment and having it just not work. It leads to bad client / vendor relationships and this feeling that we wasted money on the equipment. ### 4/5 — Impressive Innovation with Room for Refinement *2025-06-11, version 3.3.44* As someone who owns nearly every major piece of Edelkrone gear—including the DollyPLUS, Tripod X, FocusONE, HeadPLUS, HeadONE, JibONE, SliderONE, SliderPLUS, WingONE, Focus Module, Zoom Module, Vision Module, Motor Module for SliderPLUS, Steady Module for SliderPLUS, and the ControllerPLUS—I can confidently say that this ecosystem offers creative possibilities that simply aren’t possible with traditional setups. Yes, Edelkrone gear is a serious investment. And yes, it can produce stunning, cinematic movement—shots that wow clients and elevate productions. But it’s not without its quirks. The gear shines brightest in a controlled studio setting where there’s time to dial in each module. On-the-go or high-pressure shoots? Not as ideal. Setup can be time-consuming, and while the equipment usually works as expected, it occasionally doesn’t—which can be frustrating mid-shoot. Take the DollyPLUS for example: conceptually brilliant, but in practice, I found it drifts off course unless carefully calibrated, which adds significant prep time. In tighter spaces, this can become a real issue—on more than one occasion, it veered into a wall. Edelkrone recently released both hardware and software updates (as of June 9), which I’m hopeful will improve this significantly. I do appreciate their continued focus on rolling out updates and addressing feedback—they’re clearly listening to users. One challenge remains: Edelkrone operates entirely out of Turkey, so getting replacement parts takes time. They are good about honoring support requests, but U.S.-based service options would be a huge improvement. Bottom line: despite the hurdles, I’m still a fan. The vision behind Edelkrone’s gear is inspiring, and their innovation continues to push boundaries. I just hope they keep refining the execution—because with the amount of time and money many of us have invested, we’re rooting for them to keep getting better ### 2/5 — Garbage *2024-10-18, version 3.3.23* Constant problems. Device firmware update loops that pop up in the middle of using their hardware and FORCE updates that don’t actually stick, so I keep having to re-update. Maddening. ### 3/5 — Not very well thought out. *2024-07-02, version 3.3.16* For what this hardware costs, this app should be a lot better. The Timelapse and stop motion features only work with two poses. The normal sequencer is too fast for many Timelapse scenarios. The app shuts you out when you’re not connected, so you can’t watch tutorials or edit sequences on your down time. The app disconnects when you switch modes, so you have to pull batteries and reboot to reconnect. I’m not sure if the sequences will keep running when your phone is disconnected. My entire video making setup relies on using pan and tilt on two different cameras. Edelkrone has been wildly undependable lately, first pushing endless software updates that never seem to take and that interrupt the creative process, and now this which is a total dealbreaker. Makes everything look and feel professional, but their software is trash. Crashes/random updates + ones you’ve already done. Devices not communicating with the app, so you can’t even use the product you spent over $5,000 on. The only solution is wired via usb, but that product isn’t coming back to stock, plus they don’t show you any other work arounds. It’s the app or die. I love to see small companies succeed but this feels more like a scam. If they don’t resolve their software issues soon, they won’t last. I am up to date V3.3.48 as of today, new iPhone, tried iPad; still nothing. I have opted out and bought a cobot arm. Not much more in price, and works every time exactly how you want it to. Edelkrone, please fix your software so I can resell your products with a clean conscience 🙏🏽 ### 1/5 — The Updates Are Sloppy *2025-03-27, version 3.3.37* Latest update is a major improvement according to the release notes. So far, the sequencer is broken with the turntable connected (rewinding to point 1 spins the turntable, but running the sequence doesn’t move the turntable) Also, adding a lens with the latest HeadPLUS and Focus Module v3 is completely broken (it crashes on 2 iPhones and an iPad when you hit save) - my M3 Max MacBook Pro allowed me to keep an old version which I’m using to add lenses. But when I go to upload it, it gives an error and now it won’t let me retry uploading the lens. Some of their ideas are absolutely impeccable and genius - some of them are wildly incoherent - like the fact that you can’t even get product manuals and you’re stuck watching a YouTube video which doesn’t address simple things like troubleshooting shaky motion. I’ve done some great shots with my Edelkrone stuff, but I’d say the percentage of frustration over the years has been more 95% than happy. Not to mention the sliderone bundle. I am not able to control more than one device at a time rendering the large amount of money I spent on the bundles useless. I haven’t had any connectivity issues at all and have used it for a good number of weeks now. So far, so good. The only issue I have is if you change the speed and don’t save a pose, it doesn’t change the speed. The speed selected needs to be saved as a pose before the speed will operate at that speed. Intuitively I would think you can change speed to any speed without saving just by moving the sliders, until I saw the sequencer and I think that is where locking in speeds for each pose makes sense. ### 5/5 — Problem solved! thanks to their excellent customer service ! *2022-08-19, version 2.2.4* After the latest update, the app was not working properly with my sliderplus v1 and head module v1. The app kept crashing, however, I contacted Edelkrone and they sent me a replacement slide module v2 and no extra charge and boom! Problem solved! my video production was saved!
