## What is Edie?

Edie turns the footage you already shot into a real, editable cut. Import clips from your library, then describe the result you want in plain language. Edie can trim takes, remove pauses, add timed captions, place music, reframe shots, and build those changes directly on the timeline.

Every AI edit stays visible and reversible. You can drag a cut, restyle a caption, adjust timing, or undo the whole request before exporting. Edie does not generate replacement footage and does not add a watermark.

Speech transcription, scene detection, and media analysis run on your device. When you ask Edie to make an edit, the written request, transcript text, project structure, and analysis summary are sent to the Edie service; your raw photos, video, and audio remain on your device.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 0.1.2 — 2026-08-29

• Ask for a J-cut or L-cut — audio can now lead or trail the picture
• Music lands at a level that sits under your voice, with clean fades
• Captions snap to word-level timings, so they land with the speech
• After an edit, Edie suggests the next one — tap a chip to run it
• Projects now get names that describe the footage

Plus: text no longer shrinks in 4K exports, a smoother timeline, and a Stop button that stops.

### 0.1.1 — 2026-08-25

• Record a voiceover straight onto your timeline
• A new minimap gives you the whole edit at a glance
• The AI editor cuts with better pacing, framing and hooks

Plus a smoother editor transition and a round of playback and stability fixes.

### 0.1.0 — 2026-08-25
