They are a neat little retro-looking speaker with good sound - particularly in the bass range. For the price, difficult to beat if that’s what you are looking for. Once the firmware is upgraded to at least 1.2.1 the AirPlay also works well. But that’s the problem- and why I can’t go 5 stars with this app. Getting the app to upgrade the firmware just seems to be a lottery. I have two speakers that won’t upgrade and the app does not have the functionality to force them to do it. You just have to connect via Bluetooth and wait - and wait. Eventually it might prompt you to upgrade. Might. Please improve the firmware upgrade process. After a day, the app again prompted me to update the firmware. I thought that a newer firmware was released and again updated it. Today, the app again prompted me to update the firmware and I realised that the previous firmware updates never got applied to the speakers (even though the app said it was successful). No panning. Volume control is not fine enough so big steps between each numerical level. Can we get a 10 band or 12 band EQ? It would also be great to be able to put a sub in-between the active and passive connection for the M60, or allow for multiple simultaneous streams to use Bluetooth for the M60 pair along with the computer’s 3.5mm analog out for a subwoofer. ### 5/5 — 「使いやすい」の当たり前が嬉しい *2026-05-27* アプリの動作が軽快で、スピーカーに接続後、音量やイコライザーの設定も簡単にできました。 なにより、Bluetooth接続時のアナウンス音を無音にできるのが非常にありがたく、他社製品はなぜアナウンス音強制で、音量が下げられないものが多いのか理解に苦しみます。 要望があるとすれば、音響のチューニングに関して、ヘルプテキストはきちんと用意されているものの、音響素人には適切な設定がわかりづらいなと感じました。 ただ、これに関してはユーザー自身で弄ったりしながら理想の音響を考えるか、面倒なら何も触らなければよいだけなので、アプリや製品に対して何も文句はありません。 ### 3/5 — Good app functions, but current buggy connectivity. *2026-05-21, version 1.0.28* The app has simple but valuable functions, like the equalizer. However its connectivity has been frustrating in my experience. The Mac OS app doesn’t detect the speakers in the app whatever I do, even though they are connected and playing from my Mac. Apparently this is a known issue hence the rating. The speakers (MR3) are excellent though. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Does not connect! *2026-08-13, version 1.0.30* After pairing with iPhone, it does not allow playback nor connects in the app. The app is stuck on connect Bluetooth for more control and settings even with everything turned on and set to Bluetooth mode on the M90s. Connects to PC via Bluetooth and USB-C just fine, but bad app and firmware! ### 1/5 — They force you to agree to collection of data, but app store page says they don’t. *2026-07-03, version 1.0.29* Their Privacy Policy you’re forced to agree to after install (and after each update) says they collect user behavior, location data, and device info. It also states that they “share” user data. Also, they acknowledge that “refusing to accept the policy or restricting data sharing may result in the loss of certain features and functionality of Edifier products.” So I can’t create custom EQ’s anymore or remotely control the volume. I should’ve disabled auto updating for the app. Edit: If the app has an update then it prevents you from connecting to device. Well, at least I’ve figured out why the app’s settings require cellular to be enabled. Turning phones cellular off and enabling only bluetooth doesn’t help. This is an app to control my speakers via bluetooth. What is this garbage? I reported them months ago and nothing had changed. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2026-07-01, version 1.0.29* Don’t buy! Battery charging is absolutely appalling. The other two speakers are always on and always easy to connect to whereas every time I want to connect to this, I have to turn it off and turn it back on again and then figure out which setting to put it on to use with AirPlay. not only that the older smaller speakers have a lot more base and sound much better than this.
