### 5/5 — Mehr braucht es nicht

*2020-04-06*

Ich nutze die App für alles was ich schreiben möchte, aber es am besten keine Fehler enthält. Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Danke für diese App!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Sven

### 5/5 — The Only One (Xr?)

*2019-09-02*

This app is perfectly minimal, and has a permanent place on my home screen.

I recently upgraded to an iPhone Xr, though, and I can see that the app is blown up from iPhone X resolution. Will you update to address this, KQ?

### 5/5 — A model citizen

*2019-07-10*

This is practically the platonic ideal of an app: using a phone to save you a little bit of trouble (carrying paper/pen in your pocket) without sucking you into a vortex of time wasting possibilities. And the ten year guarantee seems entirely attainable given the program’s simplicity. Failing that, there is the pledge to release the source in the event of premature abandonment, a noble principle which I hope to see more broadly adopted.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2019-03-23*

I love this app. It’s the fastest way to go from thought to text, and then to send the text whenever you want to go. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. This app nails it.

### 5/5 — Hoch zufrieden

*2018-12-09*

Wunderbar. Keine Menüs, nichts was stört. Und den echte Schwarzmodus gibt es auch. Umschaltbar. Das ist die dritte Taste. Mehr braucht man nicht. Wenn die App startet, tut sie das mit immer demselben „Blatt“. Das alles macht die App zum ersten echten Notizblock. Oder auch Schmierzettel. Sofort zur Hand. Immer. Ich bin hoch zufrieden.

### 5/5 — I dig it. Period. 😊

*2018-10-09*

Thank you. The pinch thing to change text size worked great. Now i am happy. 5 stars to you sir.

**Developer response:** Hello! You can change the text size with a pinch in/out gesture — just like you would to zoom in and out when viewing a photo. If this helps, please remember to update your review. Cheers and happy writing ✌️

### 5/5 — Not Annoying!

*2018-09-04, version 1.0.3*

Write anything down fast. No complications.

### 5/5 — Simple is always better

*2018-08-19*

It’s amazing that in today’s age of do-all solutions to everything, an app as simple as this one is exactly what everyone is looking for. I use Edit to jot thoughts to remember until I can get back to my notebook and copy them down, then I delete the notes and start fresh. That’s not how everyone uses it though, and I think that’s wonderful. It’s a perfectly simple solution to a problem that other apps attempt to over complicate. The pureness of this app means it launches instantly and never gets in the way of itself.

### 5/5 — Edit and Things

*2018-07-12*

Between Edit and Things, no other apps come close to how quickly you can jot down ideas and evolve them into actionable projects.

No jargon, no bloating, just simple, fast. Kudos for saying no to a million features.

### 5/5 — My Go-to Notepad

*2018-07-11*

My favorite notepad. Front and center on my home screen. I use this daily and find myself reaching for it frequently in conversation to snag the name of a band, movie, or book I need to check out. Also my favorite app for jotting down lyrics or notes to myself while driving via voice texting. Fewer taps means I can get back to my conversation, (or the road) and deal with sorting and storing the info later.

### 5/5 — Every writer needs this app.

*2018-07-07*

Edit is the new paper and pencil. Anytime a thought worth keeping comes to mind, I have a place to jot it down. Whether I am processing thoughts or jotting a reminder, the same app suits my every writing need. As a bonus, the icon its aesthetically simple and neutral. I love how it doesn't add visual clutter to my home screen.

### 5/5 — Awesome and super useful

*2018-07-03, version 1.0.3*

At first I was confused, one page? Now it all makes sense. So good. Scratch pad on the phone. A napkin you’ll never lose. Highly recommend. Well done app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Does not work on iPhone 5

*2019-09-23*

Purchased but won't download. Running iOS 10.3.4 I hope the developer will fix.

### 3/5 — RTL support

*2023-09-15*

If only it had RTL support and adjustments per line depending on language LTR RTL

### 3/5 — Almost Great- but it flashes with every hit of return or movement to a new line

*2019-04-30, version 1.0.3*

I purchased this so I could type in night mode to get down ideas that come to me in the night for my work. As an artist this is a key part of my process. This app seemed like the answe. It’s so close to being great- the only problem is the white text flashes every time you hit return! This also happens when you fill a line of text and your curses moves to the next line pushing all the text up and at that moment the whole page flashes. This strobing effect is startling and takes me out of the flow. I would kindly ask the developer to please fix this and I’d be happy to give it 5 stars.Thank you!

### 4/5 — iOS13

*2019-10-04*

An update to support iOS13 dark mode would be appreciated.

### 4/5 — Simple—I love it! Just one request

*2019-05-28*

Could the app use San Francisco font instead? Or even a small selection of built-in fonts?

### 4/5 — great Drafts alternative

*2019-03-22*

I used Drafts for a while, and it got really bloated and complex and also very expensive. If you want a simple place to write text to copy or send to another app, this is it.

And unlike Drafts, it’s a single one time purchase, instead of yet another monthly software rental.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2018-12-07*

Please add iCloud sync. Then this app would truly be perfect for me.

### 4/5 — iCloud Support

*2018-06-26*

iCloud support would make it perfect. Would love to be able to save on one device and see on another.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2018-06-26*

Beautiful. Simple. Elegant. Perfect… almost.

The only thing it needs, in my opinion, is iCloud sync. I want to type something in my iPad and access it on my iPhone and vice versa. I don’t think that would compromise the concept and or pollute the nature of the experience.

No need to clutter up the interface with a Settings button, etc. The syncing for the app could hidden away and enabled or disabled in the main iOS Settings App where the majority of my other App setting are.

I feel bad for not giving it 5 Stars, but syncing would be true perfection for me.

### 5/5 — Amazingly useful app

*2026-04-03*

True to their word many years ago, they have continued to provide support for this great little utility

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Do one thing! Then the next

*2026-01-29*

This super clean writing space lets you create and then send. So glad it’s alive and V2 is on the way!

### 5/5 — My favourite app

*2026-01-27*

Beautiful in its simplicity. I have my iPhone’s action button mapped to open this app, that’s how important it is to me.

### 5/5 — simple and easy to use

*2024-10-13*

I am blind and I use VoiceOver on my iPhone. I love how simple and easy this app is to use. The only criticism I have about this app is that while navigating with voiceover, there are two select all buttons. The first button that is labeled select all is where you change the app icon. The second button that is labeled select all actually select all the text in the document. The last minor issue I have with the app is that when you tap on the Word count button with voiceover, you don’t actually get any feedback for how many words are in the document with voiceover. these are just very very minor things that I have noticed that could be fixed. But overall, I love the app and I will still give it five out of five stars. I tried other draft apps, and they were just too cluttered and confusing.

### 5/5 — One Thing Well

*2024-02-12*

There’s one thing we all need to do today:
1. A list
2. An email
3. A plan or proposal

Edit offers a distraction-free spot and pleasant place to type, tinker, and then copy, delete and put the text where it goes.

I also use and love Drafts. But this is for the one thing that I really need to write now. (Like a review)

### 5/5 — Home Screen Fixture

*2023-10-18, version 2020.04.01*

I’ve had this app on my home screen since I stumbled (good luck finding it in the App Store using “edit”, “scratchpad”, “notepad”, etc) across it 4-5 years ago and still works on my 15 Pro. Simple app that upon opening is ready to capture thoughts via keyboard or voice. No tapping “new note”, or going to a special notebook or page - just start entering data like you would with a paper notepad. Unlike a paper pad, you can select any part (or the whole screen) of entered data and send it to a contact or app. I use Edit as my GTD Inbox - quickly jot down stuff. Then when I have time I review and send a particular item or the whole screen to the right app (e.g., my calendar, task app, journal, etc) for final processing. No in-app purchases, no review requests, no ads - which is pretty refreshing these days!

### 5/5 — Yes!

*2021-05-21*

Thrilled about this app. Exactly what I needed! I love iA writer for macOS but it’s a little slow on the draw in iOS. This app fills the gap and *yes* it exports .txt files to Files or Dropbox! 🙏🏾

### 5/5 — Hire this developer

*2020-05-17*

To make an app so simple, and yet so useful, is an indication to where the developer’s skills are tailored. This is an app i use almost daily to temporarily hold my clipboard and also often when composing written pieces that pull from multiple sources, due to its ease of use and, again, the simplicity. This app stays on page 1 of my home screen.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted

*2020-05-03, version 2020.04.01*

I was looking for something like Drafts but without all the power user clutter.

Now that I have it, I would like it if it obeyed the system accessibility text size, and synced across to the version on my ipad. But this is a great app.

### 5/5 — One of the most useful apps on my phone.

*2020-04-10*
