One thing about it that I dislike is it only teaches you about 25% of the words that you need to know. Overall for a beginner it is very good app! ### 4/5 — Good for some stuff, not good for others *2023-11-29, version 1.7* A lot of people's main gripe with this app is that it teaches you a lot of vocabulary without teaching much grammar, so while you'll know a lot of words, you won't really know how to use them properly. That being said, it is a great supplemental tool IF you already know/are learning grammar congruently. It's very helpful for more rigorous practice, so if you're in a crunch to simply get your comprehension and speaking skills up, give this a shot. The speaker's voice can be a little difficult for new learners, and the app is mostly using the Northern (Gheg) dialect, which is fine since it's mostly lexical variations, and the words in Tosk/Standard are more or less mutually intelligible save for a few standouts e.g 'Mjek' = 'doctor' in Tosk, 'Doktor' = 'doctor' in Gheg. Overall not a bad app, especially if you're already at an A1-A2 proficiency and need to brush up on vocab. ### 4/5 — Good app *2023-09-08, version 1.7* I like the app, no issues using it. I wish there was some sort of introduction to the language instead of assuming you know words in lesion 1. As others have said, you cannot be a total newb to Albanian if you want to use this app. My main concern is that standard Albanian spelling/pronunciation. Every city in Albania has their own dialect of course so by picking one you are omitting the rest. I found a lot of spelling problems too which for a new learner they will confuse them. ### 3/5 — Trouble with app *2020-03-25, version 1.4* I don’t hear any voice pronouncing the words. I went to the settings button and turned sound on but then there was just a noise after i answered questions, there was still no voice saying the words... ### 3/5 — Great app but.. *2019-12-10, version 1.3* Unfortunately, there are bugs that won’t let you finish classes and move on to the next ones. I got stuck at Animals. Shame... ### 4/5 — Great app *2019-11-24, version 1.3* The app is great, it is going off of kosovar which is fine, and I’ve been enjoying using it because it’s close to Tropojan, but it has now started kicking me out as soon as I got to chapter 3 of numbers which -luckily- is at the end of the lessons, and I want to use this app because it is great. But sadly it won’t let me back in at all, even after uninstalling and logging in with my email again. It’s pretty laughable. Perhaps they updated it and got rid of everything useful by accident. ### 1/5 — Forced login / registration *2022-02-28, version 1.7* Sorry i wont use an app that forces you to login or creat an account. I have enough people trying to collect my data, i just wanted a simple app without drama. ### 1/5 — Absolutely rubbish!! 😡 *2021-12-24, version 1.7* I downloaded this app with high hopes of learning language, but when i went for my first, ‘lesson’ i was sent to a test of completely random words. How was I meant to even know those? It is absolutely impossible to even go ahead, as if you get the answers wrong you will be sent to the start again. Not to mention, the audios for the test didn’t even work. I am absolutely distraught by this app. If i could give it zero stars, i would. But i can’t, so you get a ONE. To the developer, stop making apps and choose something else to do. x ### 1/5 — Doesnr work *2021-05-04, version 1.7* You can’t register or login, pointless app ### 1/5 — Garbage *2020-08-11, version 1.7* Not helpful for someone who doesn’t know the language which is the whole point of the app in the first place. ### 2/5 — Not for complete beginners *2020-12-21, version 1.7* This app is suitable for those with a little knowledge of the Albanian language but too advance for those who are complete beginners. It jumps right into words and phrases without teaching you anything like other language apps do. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t really teach *2020-12-10, version 1.7* The gamified interface would be effective if I weren’t merely guessing answers at random. There is no instruction before beginning each lesson, so unless you already have a basic grasp of Albanian, you’re not going to learn anything from this app. On the listening questions, it never tells you what sentence you just managed to construct. There are almost no translations or even pictures to help you learn the meaning of the words you’re trying to memorize. Particularly in a language which is so unique, basic explanations of grammar and pronunciation would be useful, as would a vocabulary list for each lesson so that we know what we’re repeating back. The good news is that this UI works well, so there’s a decent app skeleton here if the developer were to add some basic language instruction to it. ### 2/5 — It’s just OK... Mirë *2019-09-25, version 1.3* Nice application and best I’ve seen lately for learning Sqhip a very difficult language to speak and understand. Pretty nice very limited testing features too The problem; words like eggs in Sqhip is (vezë) which the app translates as (ve) which is NOT correct and there are many other incorrectly translated words in this app were done by Kosovo translators. ### 3/5 — Good but … *2026-01-20, version 1.7* It is a good app if you have some basic knowledge of Albanian and you want to brush up your knowledge. I wish it would give some insight. For example, in the family lesson we have two questions on how to translate « son » and both questions have a different translations and I wish it would explain what the difference is between those two words. ### 3/5 — Pretty good—considering it’s free. *2025-05-21, version 1.7* Decent app, but there are a few issues. You don’t get an option to choose the stage you are on in a language for example of you’re starting from scratch or you’re already advanced. If someone knew nothing about Albanian and wanted to learn it they practically can’t because they are thrown into this app with all these foreign words. Also, it’s saying I made mistakes when my answers were definitely correct. This app totally needs ALOT of polishing. I love this app and it helps me understand what my parents are talking about because my parents don’t really have time or money to pay for any albanian language classes, but this app is free and you don’t have to pay for nothing to get good at the language! You can also try again at the lessons if you fail the test and you will get better at it and succeed the test. This app should be used for all albanian-blood related kids whose parents didn’t have time to teach Albanian or pay for Albanian classes!! Both my parents immigrated from Kosovo and to sight is the basics. My mom sent me the link to this app and I did 24 lessons in just one day. It is fun that I can learn my language and communicate with my family. But, the problem is that sometimes I would get the answer right but it would say it’s wrong but that’s not that big of a deal. I would prefer more lessons( like ones that help you have conversations to you family that doesn’t speak English) and that the lessons should progressively get harder. I hope the new update will have some of my suggestions. Thank you!
