Whether you are a student pilot, commercial airline pilot, or military pilot you need to have this valuable resource that breaks down the different aspects of aviation in easy to understand wording. FAA regulations are complex and wordy. This makes it easy to understand. I have personally used it many times for FAA test prep, interview prep for airline hiring, and brushing up on topics I haven’t reviewed in years. Every 2-3 years there is a new version and it is a must buy for me. You cannot find a better resource for this very reasonable price. I would even cover the author’s bar tab due to how many times this resource has helped me be a better pilot. ### 5/5 — Awesome resource! *2026-01-15, version 1.0.2* I recently upgraded my iPad and was going to restore my purchased 14th edition. It was no longer compatible so I sent in an email. Within 48 hours Shane had emailed me a free redemption code for the newest edition! Great customer service! Highly recommend this, especially for new pilots, but it’s great for seasoned folks as well who often forget the nitty gritty details. If you want to develop your aviation knowledge, fill gaps in your understanding, and prepare yourself for the next steps in your aviation career, there is no better resource than EEPP. The book covers all the bases and provides references for source material in the AIM, FAA handbooks, Advisory Circulars, and others, for when you want to keep on digging to know even more. It’s a great resource to quickly and easily understand topics that are outside either your previous training experience, or the boundaries of your professional operating environment (mine was USAF fighters and now part 121 airline ops). ### 5/5 — Great Resource *2025-04-18, version 1.0.2* Richie Lengel’s EEPP is a tremendous resource! His ability to condense and organize FARAIM material into a handy aviation knowledge compendium, complete with humor, is unmatched and much appreciated. Highly recommend to anyone in the aviation field looking for better understanding in our growing industry ### 5/5 — A complete reference - shared with panache and humor! *2025-04-06, version 1.0.2* This book (tome!) is something every professional aviator should own. The author, Richie Lengel, had done a tremendous amount of research to make any aviation topic easily understood. He uses humor, graphics, excellent mnemonics, and formatting (bold, underline, etc.) to help the reader not only find the reference they’re looking for, but to also retain the information. Additionally, he provides source references for every topic so the aviator can go and find additional information as well. I can’t imagine keeping all this changing information up to date, but he and his team do - this (the 15th edition) is the third edition of EEPP that I have owned. As an airline pilot, there are literally thousands of pages of information I/we are responsible for knowing. No one can commit all this to memory (that’s why we have memory items!), but having a central place to go and find even an obscure topic is supremely helpful. The book is well organized with a great table of contents (TOC) and is also indexed for easily finding the topic you’re looking for, or just increasing your GK (general knowledge) by perusing areas of interest in the TOC. Lastly, the digital version of the book is perfect to keep on an iPad/tablet - one can search, bookmark, highlight, and even annotate/take notes on, the information they’ve researched. I began using EEPP in prep for my ATP. It was the best reference/study guide I had for successfully completion of my ATP and eventual hire by a major. Furthermore, when I upgraded my iPad and needed to restore my purchase, the support was more than gracious in helping me get EEPP back on my iPad. It is still an essential guide to me as an airline pilot and I highly recommend it to any pilot with designs on becoming a professional pilot. ### 5/5 — Go-to book *2026-05-18, version 1.0.2* EEPP has been a go-to reference book for the past 17 years, and it’s the only book that I have kept throughout my aviation career that I actually look at. I’ve used it in Part 91/135, and still use it as a Part 121 pilot with the majors. It’s a great tool to reference, especially when you’re trying to remember some of those topics that you haven’t looked at in a while (or decades)! ### 5/5 — Everything you need in one place *2026-04-20, version 1.0.2* I have been a pilot for 57 years and often for a single source of information concerning aviation regulations and terminology written in plain English. This book is that source. It is not a textbook but a reference volume where you can quickly find the answer you need complete with references to the source documents. I highly recommend the iPad application as the graphics and color add a great deal to the book. The photos and cartoons throughout the volume help make what can be a VERY dry subject more accessible. When I had difficulty accessing the app after an OS update I sent an email to customer service. I received a friendly answer in a few hours completely resolving my problem at not cost. You can not ask for more than that. Yes the book is a bit expensive but it is very much worth the cost. I guess they woke up one morning and decided they needed to eliminate the IPad version and blame apple for it and sell you the iPad version again. I highly recommend the hard copy of the book.
