### 1/5 — Won’t connect

*2023-10-17, version 2.4*

Bought an Altitude x 36 that was supposed to have eFire control. The app has never been able to find and connect to the fireplace. Big dud.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth fails frequently

*2022-11-27, version 2.4*

App continuously looses fireplace connect ability, even when remote not being used. Primarily used app, and only used remote when app won’t connect. Now that app can never connect to fireplace, can only use remote. Tried reinstalling app, rebooting phone, taking batteries out of remote, and nothing allows app to locate fireplace.

### 1/5 — Excellent functionality no ability to reconnect

*2022-11-05, version 2.4*

Functionality is amazing. Problem is once the factory remote is touched it locks you out from ever using to app again. Requires dealer technition service call to reset. Unbelievable inconvenient and poor planning. Using only one remote at a time for safety makes sense, no ability for consumers to switch between that one controller renders the app useless. You are forced to choose one phone or the remote, no ability to switch without dealer technition service call.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2022-09-25, version 2.4*

This app has never worked with our fireplace, it simply doesn’t see it!

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2022-06-16, version 2.2*

If you could give this app a rating lower than 1 star I’d do it. We have a napoleon fireplace and can’t use some of the setting because their only available on the e-fire app which never works. I’ve contacted napoleon about the problem and been told a new update would be released to fix the bugs, which never happened. So if you want the functionality of an app, don’t buy a napoleon!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2022-06-12, version 2.2*

We can not even use our fireplace. The app is useless!
When will there be updates for this app?

### 1/5 — This app will not work

*2022-05-23, version 2.2*

I have connected to the fireplace. Everything shows it’s connected but it will. Or control anything. It’s just a dumb toy. What a joke.

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2022-04-30, version 2.2*

Downloaded the app, found the fireplace, put in the default password (0000), nothing happens. I have deleted and reloaded this app several times and get the same result. Useless!

### 1/5 — This app is garbage

*2022-02-21, version 2.2*

Not only is it incredibly challenging to pair this app with your actual fireplace, but it won’t let more than one user on the same network use the app to control the fireplace at the same time. What a joke. Do better Napoleon.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2022-02-09, version 2.2*

Where is Napoleon with fixes for this unusable app? Fireplace will not find my phone and there appears to be no way to re-sync the two. I can’t believe Napoleon Fireplace Co. is just unresponsive to these issues. Can’t use the light functionality at all without the app. What a waste!

### 1/5 — Fire app

*2022-01-20, version 2.2*

This app Is awful. Pay good money for this fireplace in this app does not work. Have the controller but I have no idea how to work it

### 1/5 — THIS IS THE WRONG APP

*2022-01-10, version 2.2*

Everyone go download Napoleon Home app, it is the new and intended application.

Napoleon just does a very poor job at communicating or redirecting customers to it. They should remove this from the app store or label them more specifically so we don’t get confused.

### 1/5 — Really?

*2022-01-04, version 2.2*

Napoleon promoted their app as a great feature of its new fireplaces. The app doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Embarrassing

*2021-12-31, version 2.2*

The best thing about this app was uninstalling it. I have a feeling that even if the app loaded properly, I would never use it. It's like somebody at Napoleon said we need to be in the App Store so let's build an app, even if it doesn't make sense and it offers no value to our customers.
This should be pulled from the App Store.

### 1/5 — What a pile of crap this app is. Will not connect

*2021-12-23, version 2.2*

Very disappointing should be simple just a blank connect screen. Limited help on the website.

### 1/5 — E-Fire Control & Remote

*2021-12-18, version 2.2*

Next to useless. Install. Works once. Doesn’t work again. Remove & install again. Doesn’t work. Repeat. Worked once. Then doesn’t work. Piece of junk. A complete hamburger package. I regret getting this option. My aunts ancient RF tech fireplace works better. The supplied remote eats batteries and is itself quite quirky. My spouse cannot operate it without problems.

### 1/5 — Inconsistent and not intuitive

*2021-11-24, version 2.2*

Only one device can control it at a time. My wife opens the app and turns the fire on and thirty minutes later I open the app on my phone and it won't allow me to control it. My wife has to close out of the app and then I have to wait. That seems a bit ridiculous.
Oddly enough I will open the app to control it and it will say it's on when it's off or vice versa.
It just feels overdeveloped in meaningless ways and underdeveloped in places that seem important.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2025-11-02, version 2.4*

The worst!

### 1/5 — 0 stars

*2025-10-31, version 2.4*

Worse app I’ve ever used!

### 1/5 — Clunky

*2025-02-11, version 2.4*

The first 2 remotes didn’t work. Third one is on order. I can’t sign on when my wife has the app open. Crazy they have haven’t invested in a better app experience. Get with it!

### 1/5 — No login

*2025-01-26, version 2.4*

Poor

### 1/5 — Junk!

*2025-01-21, version 2.4*

The only thing that turns on with the app is the back lights and they are very dim. Don’t bother to download this app.

### 1/5 — worst app ever

*2025-01-04, version 2.4*

i haven’t used it in a while and forgot my password. there is literally nowhere on the app to go to reset. i’ve tried deleting and reinstalling and it still won’t let me in:/

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work AT ALL!!!

*2024-11-08, version 2.4*

Honestly, this app does not connect to the fireplace via Bluetooth! I’ve done all kinds of troubleshooting trying to make this work and it just doesn’t. It is an absolute waste of time and VERY FRUSTRATING. If your looking for reliable connectivity via an app controlled fireplace look elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Lack of security is baffling

*2024-05-10, version 2.4*

There it's nothing stopping people from going around their neighborhood controlling people's fireplaces with this app. The fireplace password and settings are always reverting to factory default. So password 0000 can get you into anyone's fireplace. I'm surprised nobody's house has been burnt down by a firebug.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-04-14, version 2.4*

App is glitchy, functionality is useless.
Doesn’t control the fireplace more than 80 percent of the time. Also no obvious solution to forgotten password.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2024-01-21, version 2.4*

The worst app. The app doesn’t connect to the fireplace easily and doesn’t always work.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Crazy Cool

*2019-12-19, version 2.0*

The app is crazy cool and the preferred way to operate the fireplace because I can’t figure out the remote that comes with it. Small note: the initial password is 0000. Was hard for me to find that in the docs.

Edit: as other reviewer said, you can’t have multiple devices connected at the same time. Also would really love to find a way to connect to HomeKit so I can add it to my scenes and home automation.

### 5/5 — Works well and easy to use.

*2019-10-30, version 2.0*

Don’t need to use the remote anymore!

### 4/5 — Seems to be working well for me. Good app so far.

*2022-04-03, version 2.2*

Only posting this to balance out all of the other bad reviews. The app seems to be working fine for me now that I’ve figured it out. There are no instructions on first use which may it difficult but once you are up and rolling, it’s proving to be a handy app. Much more user friendly than the supplied remote control. Default password is 0000 when syncing up with the fireplace for the first time.

### 4/5 — Cool but limited.

*2019-08-23, version 2.0*

Works great and is really cool, just wish all of us could take advantage of it - only one Bluetooth device can be connected at a time, which is really limiting in a family household. Disappointing - much cheaper household appliances allow multiple Bluetooth devices at once. Waaaay past time to update the technology for units this expensive.

Edit: Even the unit’s own remote won’t work if there is another Bluetooth device paired. So, if I pair my phone and go upstairs, my wife can’t use the remote unless I disconnect.

Edit 2: After more time with it, bumping it up to four stars. It easily switches between devices and the new device connecting picks up the previous status seamlessly. For example, if my wife turns it on and sets things and then leaves or turns off her app or phone, I can open the app and connect easily and it automatically sets to where she left it.

### 3/5 — Step in the right direction

*2021-03-12, version 2.2*

Takes some playing around with to figure it out - but does work. Connectivity with Google/Alexa would be ideal.

### 3/5 — Needs to be smarter

*2021-01-05, version 2.2*

I really like my Napoleon fireplace. I use it as the primary heating source for my downstairs area and use the remote control to set a temperature. What is really missing are Nest level controls to turn down the temp at night and other times when not used. If Napoleon can add a temperature setting by time of day/day of week to this App, that will provide the intelligence needed to make this a great heating solution.

### 3/5 — Finally got the app to work

*2020-02-08, version 2.1*

I downloaded and successfully connected to my fireplace with the app. But none of the functions did anything. I finally turned off the power to the fireplace with the remote control unit that I had been using to control settings. Then I tried the iPhone app again. This time it worked. So it appears that you can’t use both at the same time.

### 3/5 — Great concept - still needs work!

*2017-06-18, version 1.2*

Great concept - still needs some work. If igniting fireplace from the app, functionality from remote control doesn't work ( or vice-versa). If turning off fire from the app, can't keep the blower on without keeping flame. If these bugs could be squashed - would be great!

### 2/5 — Temp control where are you

*2024-12-03, version 2.4*

In the app you can’t control the temperature but with the remote control you can. It seems to be a bit of an oversight. Overall app could do with a UI update.

### 2/5 — Limited functionality of app

*2021-12-06, version 2.2*

Like others, our new Luxuria fireplace requires both the remote and the app to use all functions. If I turn on the fireplace with the app, I cannot use the multicolor LED’s. I have to turn on the fireplace with the remote to use the LED’s but then that’s the only thing I can control with the app because the ‘remote is in use’ so it has priority over the app.

My suggestion would be to do away with the remote altogether, it’s costly and allows only limited functionality.
