All because of “lowest bidder” software and bad documentation. When I finally had it connected to the cloud I come to find out this app is absolutely atrocious. The web portal is marginally better but even that was written by amateurs. ### 2/5 — Location Access Required, Overly Constraining *2025-11-11, version 1.6.5* It seems that a recent update makes the app now require location access to launch the "local connect" option for monitoring/interfacing with the inverter. There are a few things that could be improved or added. 1. Could we please get a dark mode. 2. On the data page could we please get an import to user value. (import from grid) 3. On the main page could you please enable pinch to zoom. The Flexboss doesn’t have a screen and the app doesn’t have all the settings so I have to go into the web monitor just to turn certain settings on? It doesn’t make sense. ### 3/5 — Please show AC coupled solar *2025-06-09* I only have AC coupled solar hooked up on the generator port of the inverter and this app doesn’t show production for that in the data. It only shows DC coupled. On the website it has both, but I prefer the app, and it’d be so much more helpful if the app would show me the complete picture of my system. Right now the app just doesn’t tell me anything about my solar production. Seems like an easy thing to add since it’s available online already. ### 3/5 — Import data missing from graph *2025-05-05, version 1.4.8* Refresh isn’t great but manageable and much better than on android. I think it is missing critical data with not having import information available in the app on the graph. Would be better if similar to desktop. Perhaps even options to collapse or rearrange fields for desired readings. Some “settings” are not functional on my phone, even though I can select and modify. Right now, app is showing no power, from solar or grid, going to the house. Checked with power company and logged onto WiFi and power IS going to the house. Needs simple improvements *2024-12-16, version 1.3.3* The energy consumption is painstakingly difficult for the average user to read and most importantly, please for the love of all things good create a notifications system that you can set yourself so you can get a notification when your batteries drop to x percentage. Do not use ### 1/5 — Gridboss and ac coupled solar *2025-10-25, version 1.6.5* EG4 hardware is fine, but they need help with software. App is really bad. AC coupled solar doesn’t show as solar in app. App is super slow and non responsive. Programming settings is a mess. They need to realize they need to higher experienced software people in US. ### 1/5 — Please fix and put a new update up 7/23/25 *2025-07-23, version 1.5.3* It says it fixed stuff but all I see is it no longer gives you power imported from grid for the 6000xp. Always gets a failed to analyze response. Must be something with the 12000xp setup I have since others work. I have to use the web version. ### 1/5 — Issue with latest update *2025-03-16* After updating the user interface changed and it seems still under development. A bunch of features don’t work and it’s unusable currently. I like the look of the new GUI but it also has to function properly. There’s also some issues with the updated GUI on the PC but it’s not nearly as bad. The PC monitor at least had an option to use the old GUI. If this feature is fairly quick to implement, it may be worth doing temporary for the phone app update until all the bugs get worked out of the new GUI. Cant make power or SOC stop settings. Doesn't show time ranges. Not sure if there is anything else but I’d wait for the next update when they fix this ### 1/5 — I can no longer login *2024-08-08, version 1.1.9* After entering my password, all I get is the following error “failed to analyze response data” I have no issue with logging into the manufacturer website monitor online, but the app no longer allows me to. ### 1/5 — No luck *2023-11-21* Just had an inverter installed, tried for an hour to get the dongle to connect with the app but no luck. Tried the desktop website and surprisingly that works, so it IS connected, but the app shows nothing. I have six batteries, two hybrid inverters, a grid, boss, and a Generac generator. I have 31 kW DC production with Tygo optimizers. I see everything going on in my storage system. The app tracks the online software very closely. Nothing for me to complain about. Would benefit from a design refresh to bring it into 2025 from a user graphics standpoint ### 5/5 — Works great! *2024-12-19, version 1.3.3* I see people complain about some feature they want is missing- but let’s look at the fact this is a FREE app where they host your data and don’t charge you a penny for the hosting or the app! Personally I like the power diagram it shows a lot, so does my family. Even the non technical people can appreciate that it shows L1 and L2 usage once they understand the inverter can trip if one side is overloaded. Seeing how much solar power you’re getting vs how much you’re using is super helpful! “Is now a good time to run the dishwasher?” Is easily answered by looking at this: “plenty of battery and solar panels are rocking? Go for it.” And recently it seems like the app updates a lot more frequently. Used to be like every 15 minutes- still useful but not great. Now it seems like they’ve bumped it up and it updates pretty fast. We love it! Thank you guys! Would it be nice to set notification triggers to do stuff- send a message, execute some API?
