The 808 works fine unlike the 909. Maybe update for newer operating system. The Ableton Link feature is nice. Also the manual doesn’t work. It doesn’t let me scroll through the pages. Pretty poor tbh… ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2025-01-05, version 3.1.6* If you are going to put out a Trial version, then put the whole thing up for a week. So you can actually 'discover' what the app is capable of. And constant bombardment of Adds/ upgrades.... you don't get a sec to even see how this app flows. Oh all this and I haven't even spoken about the sound, it's UI etc. If you don't have an 808 of some type , then with all due respect and are looking for one, Don't make this it. There are some great ones out there , eg Dm1. But as my title says . Paid the eight bucks for the full version, but the app still shows as a demo. So I uninstalled the app hoping that a reinstall would get me the app I paid for. This is the best designed drum machine iphone app I’ve tried; it actually works so well i feel like i don’t need hardware. Getting started is fast and easy, all the controls work well even on the small screen of my iphone 13mini. Thank you for making knobs that always work perfectly with a touch screen, that’s a rare thing!! It is faithful to all the features and workflows that make an 808 so fun to use with the added benefit of a graphical sequencing screen that’s easy to switch back and forth into. It just works as it should and lets you create the beats you want to create, with no fussing around in submenus. Perfect!! The sounds are great too, really faithful to the original! The only reason you might prefer the hardware over this is if you want to go back and forth tweaking multiple volumes and tone controls, in the app you have to select an instrument separately to see its individual controls. Put it through a blue tooth or PA. Throw a little reverb on and you’re good. If you can’t 4 track a decent lofi album with this then you shouldn’t be writing music. You could easily emulate Beach House or many commercial bands if you know what you’re doing. I don’t know what this rookie I play a BC Rich with dead strings review about being manipulated in to purchasing is about. Go by a Boss dr rhythm and hit play if you don’t know how to step or tap sequence. I’ve had free version for a couple years and never accidentally purchased anything. I’m about to purchase to support this product as a traveling musician who always appreciates a little rhythm in his pocket.
