### 2/5 — Meh

*2025-01-29, version 1.4.2*

This app is kinda meh

### 2/5 — Egg Splatting

*2021-05-04, version 1.3.0*

The splatting of the eggs gets my daughters attention more and encourages her to select the incorrect items because it makes her laugh

### 3/5 — TILLJWJSJSKDDJRFNF

*2020-05-06, version 1.3.0*

### 3/5 — great but needs some thing...

*2019-10-14, version 1.3.0*

i don't get it when you miss a word . when you miss a word it splates. I just think you miss one thats it no splate

### 4/5 — Great app, with a niggly little problem

*2016-09-18, version 1.2*

My 6 year old loves this app. It's such a fun way to cement sight words in his brain.
The only downside is how easy it is to reset progress, I wish it were password protected or somehow enabled as an adult only feature.

### 3/5 — changes

*2015-09-29, version 1.2*

Hi, great potential game, however my little girl clicks on everything except the words cause she likes the sounds, perhaps developers could swap it around so the words make the funny noises instead.

### 3/5 — Kids lose interest

*2015-07-17, version 1.2*

I really like this app but, the levels take SO long the kids lose interest.
The delay between the words we are looking for, coupled with their infrequency, meant that no one could be bothered to wait for the next level and my son found it more fun to hit the incorrect objects / words just to have something happen.
The competition is Endless Reading, which does not have an as developmentally appropriate word list and is pricey, but my son wants to play it - and will keep playing it.
Wish it was better.

### 3/5 — Great app

*2015-07-01, version 1.2*

I'm glad there there is a trial version of the app! I always like to know what I'll get before I pay for it. The little boy that I tutor loves this app! My only question is: "Is there a way to reset individual levels of the app in the full version? The Lite version only allows for resetting the entire app. If this feature is not available, is there a way it can be added as an update in the future? It would be an excellent way for a child to review words he/she is having difficulty with.

### 4/5 — Great

*2015-01-23, version 1.2*

Great app but said others have said, multi user support would be good.

### 3/5 — Good but could be better

*2014-10-30, version 1.2*

My daughter likes playing this game a lot but the length of the game is too long. She is 5 and about to start kinder and loves learning but each level on this goes a little too long an she starts to get bored. Maybe if they only had to collect 10 or 15 of each egg in the beginning levels.

### 3/5 — Great app, needs to be multi-profile

*2014-02-04, version 1.2*

My 5 year old son loves this app. I would buy the full version if I knew that I could set it up for each of my kids. This version only allows for one person, would be heaps better if I could add another profile (or more). Otherwise I would have given this a much higher rating. Looks like full version only allows one profile too.

### 3/5 — iOS 7 support please

*2013-10-10, version 1.1*

After I upgrade to iOS 7 we get black screens not able to use it. Please fix it as soon as possible

### 3/5 — Eggy 100

*2013-10-10, version 1.1*

This app has been very beneficial for the lower children in my class. Unfortunately it has suddenly become a black screen and the app cannot be used. Not sure what has happened.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-07-26, version 1.4.2*

I can’t believe how terrible this is! There is no sound which makes the app really boring. The graphics look like low-res bitmaps that could have been taken off a website with Windows Snipping Tool and then cut. I would like a refund but don’t know how to get one!

### 1/5 — It took my kids

*2024-11-02, version 1.4.2*

My kids forgot to do it and then at night it came and took my kids

### 1/5 — Worrrrrrrst app for learning

*2020-06-24, version 1.3.0*

Wen I got the app I just went bad

### 1/5 — COOL

*2018-08-17, version 1.3.0*

This game is good for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

### 1/5 — App unusable

*2017-01-04, version 1.2*

Can't access the app as the ad for Reading Eggs pops up and you can't get past it to enter the app.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-08-24, version 1.2*

Just glitches and has a loading screen that flickers and doesn't fix itself, tried reinstall. No difference

### 1/5 — ???

*2015-05-04, version 1.2*

Sorry, I don't get this? You can choose an English accent and you are then presented with 'a'. We don't teach the children alphabet names in England, we teach phonics, so no use. I tried it and was confused (instructions are poor), nobody told me not to hit the pig!

### 1/5 — Will not load

*2014-09-16, version 1.2*

I have tried to I install/delete/reinstall twice and there is a horrible glitch on the loading page and the app never loads. Not installing much confidence in my decision making trying to decide if I want to spend the money to buy the full reading eggs program! Sad because I had heard good things and was really looking forward to trying it.

### 1/5 — Won't hold their interest

*2014-06-23, version 1.2*

The concept is good but this will not hold the interest of 3-4 years olds. The success rate is poor. There are too many interesting diversions such as the flying pig and a smiley egg, when you are only supposed to hit 'a'! Who wants 'a' when the graphics of other things are so much better? 'a' is a low interest word too. The eggs fly in every direction, not just the reading direction. They go too fast at times. I could hardly read them when they got too fast and small. I won't use it with my three year old.

### 1/5 — Blank screen

*2013-10-10, version 1.1*

Doesn't work after iOS update :(

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great “game”

*2026-01-13, version 1.4.2*

I’m 16 now, but I had this all as a 5yo, I don’t remember much, but I know how to read, type, write, spell, and talk, probably because of this app. So it’s good 👍

### 5/5 — Eggy Words

*2025-09-07, version 1.4.2*

Chicken Champion

### 5/5 — I used to tickle my pickle to Angry Birds

*2024-05-23, version 1.4.2*

When I about 13 I loved Angry Birds I played every game and bought every toy they had. One day I playing Angry Birds when all of a sudden the big red bird turned me on. I couldn’t stand it I was going crazy. I decided to pull out my big snake and start strangling it. I never had felt so good. I soon continued to do this daily and never got bored of it. I’m glad to admit I still do this very day.

### 5/5 — Good, But With A y Problem

*2023-12-06, version 1.4.2*

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐬 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐬 𝐈’ve Got, But There Is Somthing Disturbing That Shoud Show Up If You Swipe Or Tap A Potato.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-01-08, version 1.3.0*

Great App and it’s free

### 5/5 — The best game ever

*2015-04-01, version 1.2*

Finished the game it is easy as and the beast in the world :)

### 5/5 — Good

*2013-11-20, version 1.2*

I recommend this. But get the full version it will let u do more things. I totally recommend this :)

### 5/5 — Great for young readers

*2013-02-11, version 1.1*

My son has difficulty recalling basic sight words and this greatly impacts on his confidence as a young reader. We downloaded this app on the recommendation of his Kindergarten teachers at orientation and have been impressed with how it has helped with his recall of his basic sight words. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Fun

*2013-02-10, version 1.1*

So much fun for many different ages. My eldest likes to play this properly and very seriously, making sure to only hit the correct word as it comes up. Whereas my youngest, who is only 3, thinks that hitting the all the eggs is great. He loves the splatting eggs and the flying animals but also loves when he gets the right answer. Great fun and a great way to learn!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2012-11-25, version 1.1*

My son enjoys playing this and his letter and word recognition has really improved.
