The ch7000 charger wifi button works as I’m able to see the Ego ch7000 network, but the app has no options related to remote connection. Go read all of the other 1 star reviews and you’ll have a good understanding of the nonsense that EGO puts its customers through in an attempt to register their product. Save yourself time and just register the product online and skip the app. The 2D barcodes don’t scan via the app on an iPhone13 plus. You have to hand key in the serial numbers multiple times. The latest model lawnmower that I ordered isn't listed in their registration list, so I had to include it under last years model #. Poor execution at its finest. Shame on you EGO or Chevron or whoever you are. Do better! And don’t even get me started on the documentation or whatever you call this poor excuse of a users manual and quick start guide. What a joke! ### 1/5 — Useless App *2023-08-17* The app serves no function. No instruction on connecting to bluetooth and WiFi. Once figured out connection is sketchy at best. Once connected, very slow to reconnect, even if app on Background App Refresh on iPhone. For the POWER+ 700W CHARGER tool, text notification only (no sound when text arrives) when battery is fully charged, no email notification option. App shows only generic Tool model numbers, not the actual model number you purchased. App does not show warranty information. QR code scanning does not work - on any of my EGO Tools. Camera does not focus. QR code scanning works fine on ALL of my other non-EGO device scans, so it’s not the iPhone camera, it’s the EGO app. ### 1/5 — Ti-Bob *2023-07-03* Très déçu. I expected accurate readings as soon as I open the app. When I open the app the status always shows that it is not connected. I have configured my WiFi connection correctly. I have to click on my Power+ 700W charger for the battery status page for it to show on the Home Screen of the app. This information is supposed to show connection and battery percent but it does not. I would give it a 0 star if I could. ### 1/5 — Go back to the drawing board EGO *2023-03-10* Is this really an official app from EGO? I just spent thousands of dollars on one of their riding lawnmowers and the instructions told me to go download the app to register the product and get the latest firmware update. So, I did. I tried, EGO, I really did. I don’t have an account so I followed the path in the app to set up an account. I filled out all the relevant info, deselected what appeared to be an opt-in to receive “updates about EGO Power+”, and selected the checkbox for agreeing to their terms. The “Sign Up” button remained greyed out as though I had missed filling in required info on the form, so I double checked and, nope, it’s all there except… wait… I’m required to check the box to receive additional (spammy) email about EGO Power+? Checked that box and, yep, that turns out to be required to submit the form. Okay, whatever EGO, that’s fine. I click “Sign Up”, which is now clickable, and… “Internal Server Error”… ugh… So… no firmware updates for me? Come on, EGO. You’re better than this. You probably just need to go back to the drawing board and start over. I’d recommend commissioning a different app development company to do the work, or hire some full time devs to create this app in-house. Your products are great and deserve a great app to accompany them. Fix this. ### 1/5 — Seriously?!!! *2022-12-31* Horrible! How can a company have such great products and such a lousy app? Please spend a few bucks on a competent app developer….so you can support your loyal customers …or risk losing them. This is not rocket science people! ### 1/5 — Terrible App, don’t even bother. *2022-12-17, version 2.2.3* This is perhaps one of the worst apps I have ever run across. 1) QR function either uses wrong camera or does not focus so you have to type in serial number manually to register. 2) WI-FI functionality does not work, documentation says click WI-FI icon but there is no Wi-Fi icon on CH7000. Even after Wi-Fi light is blinking on device. 3) adding a tool does not show up online, and there is no way to get serial number of device you just added. This is just using it for 20 minutes, it’s clear there has been 0 effort placed in designing this app. User experience is terrible. Don’t even bother and just use your EGO tool without it. But now I have no faith their tools are going to function well after this experience. ### 1/5 — Sketchy Connections *2022-10-18, version 2.2.3* I am able to connect via Bluetooth, but not for more than 10 seconds. It connects, disconnects, and the reconnects over and over. WiFi is not able to connect at all. Registering a device is a joke. You already have the information from the tool when I add it to the app. Why do I need to register all the serials again? ### 1/5 — I can't get this ap to connect to my power station *2022-10-09, version 2.2.3* I can't get this ap to connect to my power station. The ap doesn't have any "connect to Wi-Fi" button it shows on its videos. Worse, customer service sends me a 3rd party you tube video on troubleshooting this. The funny part, the guy in the video was having problems with connecting. Seriously? Maybe the next update they can fix this. Now it's garbage. ### 1/5 — Not all items show in My Tools *2022-09-20, version 2.2.3* Like others have said it doesn’t actually register your products. Another quirk I discovered today is that after submitting successfully a new item in the app - a cultivator attachment, it won’t show in My Tools. I tried it again and even reinstalled the app. It says it’s in my Tool Garage or some such but never shows in the list. I’m bummed out…..yet another flaw. ### 1/5 — Awful App *2022-09-02, version 2.2.0* I spent half an hour trying to register my new mower and what a painful process. It doesn’t show model numbers on the mower selection screen so I had to click each one that looked close to finally find my model. Once I found my model, the serial number field for the battery had the wrong prefix. When I went to scan the receipt, there was no way to take a picture in the app so I went to the camera to grab it. When I returned to the app, it had booted me back out to the main screen and all the info I put in was gone. I’ll try it on the website or call them. This app is just rubbish. ### 1/5 — Like everyone else says. It’s useless.. *2022-08-26, version 2.2.0* First of all, the app camera can’t even focus on the QR Codes. That needs to be fixed! So I had to manually punch in the serial number to add them. I added my tools and was fine, but then came to realize that I have to add my batteries too AND the chargers?? Here I thought it would show me the charging times because it was asking for Bluetooth. Nothing. There’s nothing here that is helpful. This is a very weird app honestly. What a 1.2 star rating says to me; the company doesn’t care. That’s all I need to know. My mower works great, but this app, is beyond terrible, and confusing. Even the instructions on the mower differ than what this app says and does. EGO, I say this to you, lose the staff that made this app they have no clue what they are doing. They have cost your company thousands of dollars, and since this app is so terrible I’m unsure whether I will buy anymore of these products. A company that can’t stand behind its app or streamline it with barcodes or QR codes just can’t put much effort into its products. Buyer beware, your product will most like work great but don’t look to this app for charging purposes or anything else for that matter. Even registering the product became a nightmare. If I could click on ZERO stars I would’ve. Judging by the review left two years ago obviously nothing has changed. 2 years those worthless app developers had to fix this and you paid them for nothing!!!! ### 1/5 — Useless *2024-07-11* This app is absolutely useless and serve no purpose. I registered a product, but it will not let me add the product to my tools since it doesn’t show that the new eight amp battery exists. When I called customer service they were clueless. They said it won’t show up on your app and when I asked why they couldn’t tell me. The battery shows up online on my tools but not on this app. Don’t waste your time and download this app because there’s nothing you can do with it and it’s not current ### 1/5 — What’s the point of this app? *2024-06-02* Totally useless. It should either be fixed or removed from the App Store. ### 1/5 — CH7000 Does Not Connect to Wifi *2024-04-22* I just purchased an Ego lawn mower that includes the CH7000 charger and a 12ah battery. I downloaded the app and registered the charger but it did not give me the Wifi connection option. I can see the device on my network but the app doesn’t provide the connection feature. I spoke to customer service and they said that several other customers have the same problem and they don’t know why it is happening and do not have a solution. I very disappointed and can’t understand how this could be an issue when Wifi connectivity is so mature. I do not recommend this product at all. ### 1/5 — Puffware, don’t waste your app space! *2024-04-19* Zero stars really. None of their tools connect. The fact that it hasn’t been updated in over a year tells me they are just puffing the tool support and aren’t serious about giving us features that work! Ego is deceiving their customers into thinking they can get status from batteries , etc on their smartphones. Ignore the bad reviews *2023-05-28* Great app, I can see, KEYLESS START and monitor my Eco mower with this app. Keyless driving. All I need now is my phone. Power is monitored via app - connects via Bluetooth. Can see other tools as well. Couldn’t ask for more from the app unless it can do my taxes. I could not register the stx3800 commercial weed eater it was not included on the list of weed eaters to choose from when taking a picture or manually entering the serial #. It registered all the other 10 products no problem. Other than that I’m totally loving the app. ### 5/5 — Works as advertised *2019-04-30, version 1.0.1* I was able to register my Ego Nexus Power Station, set up the WiFi, then connect via Bluetooth. Une version française serait la bienvenue. ### 4/5 — Finally *2020-08-22, version 2.0.1* Finally pulled the trigger on this baby after Hurricane Isaias left us without power for eight hours. Eight hours.......in a house with 2 kids, a wife and no electricity = 😖😫🥺😭. Anyway, still testing it out, so far so good. The app is ok, I have multiple EGO tools in addition to the Nexus so it's nice to have all the info on the tools available. One thing though, the Bluetooth feature works but the WiFi connectivity doesn't work. Same goes for my Nexus Escape power inverter, except neither Bluetooth nor Wifi work. I always get "Oops! There was a problem connecting". I know the app was redone recently so I'm assuming that it's a glitch. Hope that EGO works on that. All and all its pretty good. Just have to save up, I would like to purchase two more 7.5's. (the price!!! HOOFAH!!! 😖😫🥺😭) ### 4/5 — Almost perfect control *2020-02-14, version 1.0.1* I love the flexibility of controlling each outlet, and great power usage reporting on each outlet. What I don’t understand is the lack of cache for my list of products, which requires my device to be internet connected. And I would like to be able to add my own nick names so I can tell them all apart, maybe even down to the outlet level. ### 3/5 — Fair… *2022-06-04, version 2.2.0* Nice looking app, though extremely slow and sometimes things just do not load. Getting WiFi setup for the quick charger was a major exercise in patience. After 45 minutes, the app finally said connected. It is weird, because I was simply going through the same steps over and over in a fit of insanity, but after saying “Oops, something went wrong!” for the 20th time, the main page said connected … ?&?&?. Pretty frustrating to say the least. I expected more from a company that creates electronics. I hope they continue to update the app. ### 2/5 — Basic *2022-06-10* I’m sure that this app will tap into the wifi battery chargers and whatnot, it’d be nice to see battery health and number of cycles on each battery if and when it does. As it is the app is pretty basic, most iPhone cameras can’t focus on the QR code because it’s too small, so you *have* to type in the serial number of each item. The app doesn’t track *when* the item was purchased so it’s no good for warranty (like Ridgid), lastly the info for each item is a faq and some YouTube ads. What would be actually useful is a link to the PDF of the manual, or the ability to order accessories. Even the new product photos are broken.
