By the way, please have it easier like it used to be, to highlight text. One now has to scroll three times on a tiny, minute inset to choose highlight (if it's even there). I don't like the new egw 2 app either regarding colors where they only have 4 colors showing unless you choose another color which then bumps the other ones... just have them ALL showing for petes sake 😂 ### 2/5 — Signing infrequency *2019-05-14, version 2.14.2* I really like this app but the last month or so I’ve had to sign in almost every other day to get to my current read books and bookmarks. I didn’t want to download all the books when this older version has everything I need already loaded, so it is perfect for when I travel. I wish they did still support & upgrade it tho. No need to download each reference or open to read. I use the search engine quite often and have found all that I'm looking for. When I put in GC148 or GC148.3, it will not take me there, it only takes me to the chapter the page and paragraph are in. This is very annoying when trying to find a particular passage and I have to scroll through the whole chapter. Never past 70%. ### 1/5 — Cross device syncing not working *2017-11-06, version 2.14* I have written to the app developers, talked directly to them on the phone, worked through all documentation I can find, consulted other tech savvy people like myself, and still the study center is not fully syncing between devices iPhone 5 and 6 plus both with latest iOS and EGW Writings 2 installed. The new highlights sync but the old bookmarks and highlights are only partially synced. This process has been two years and I’m still hanging on to my old iPhone 5 waiting and waiting until someone can figure out how to write code that works!!!! I have visited every folder on both devices and left them for extended periods with the main Study Center open (a recommendation from the devs). I have also created an account on EGW and signed both devices into the same account. Still have partial syncing :( ### 1/5 — Great app *2017-07-15, version 2.12* This is a great app and it's really great that it's free and self contained. I just wish it actually worked. It’s easier to use and study with. Unfortunately it is not being updated so it crashes at time. I would recommend that the creators invest more into this app! ### 5/5 — Grateful *2022-11-20, version 2.14.2* Still better than the new version. Simple and easy to load. Like many have said, having to log in every time in the new one is not easy and annoyingly complicated. This continues to be my go to app even though the new one has so many more features. I still use this one most of the time. I developed different colors for highlighting different quotes. The different colors have come to mean different things to me. So it’s a good thing to have and use. But I can’t transport it to the new program because it is incompatible with it. So I would lose the colored markings that help me to find and better understand what I am reading. It’s also easy to use. And it has good features that helps me to bring up and to also search for quotes I’m trying to find. The only problem is that it doesn’t have the newer books and the letters and manuscripts that have come out. So, when I have to, I will use the number 2 program to get these writings that are not on this program. While it is more powerful, it is harder to use. You have many more steps to go through to see what your looking for. ### 5/5 — An excellent tool! *2022-06-23, version 2.14.2* This app has been polished and refined to a point that it is an excellent tool that does exactly what you need it to do. No fancy animations or extra fluff. I used an earlier version of this one back around 6 years ago and loved it then as well. Since then for some time I had used the EGW writings 2 app, and though it is nice to be able to listen to the books, it is full of bugs, and I the user interface is too complicated, and gets in the way of my focus on reading. The word search in this version that I’m reviewing is excellent, the ability to type in the reference for a book any get it instantly is great too! My plea to the developers at EGW estate is to continue to support this app, as I hope it continues to be available. ### 5/5 — App no longer works *2022-01-23, version 2.14.2* With the latest update from apple (iOS 15.2.1) the app no longer opens. ### 5/5 — Not too crazy about EGW Writings 2. *2021-12-25, version 2.14.2* The classic version is simpler, faster, and kept you focused. I have both versions. But the classic version is for me a lot simpler, and easier to use. Please don’t delete this app or add any updates to it.
