### 3/5 — Not a fan of latest update

*2026-08-19, version 7.52.6*

Not a fan of the latest update. I used to be able to log into my account and have my statistics right there but now I have to toggle over to mine as my husband and I share an account. That means every time I want to change the temperature. I have to toggle over to his and then sometimes I accidentally do his and I just wish I could go back to the old version of the app because I like the product but the app is driving me nuts!!!

### 4/5 — Nice but kinda buggy

*2026-08-12, version 7.52.6*

I consistently am stuck on the splash screen. Seems the app has trouble loading or freezes.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2026-08-08*

It’s definitely improved my wife’s sleep as she was always cold before. We are keen to see how it performs in summer once that happens. I like the insights and the data. Sometimes it’s a bit dumb and even though we are awake and have gotten off the bed the alarm still goes off. It should be smarter than that…

### 5/5 — Unbelievable

*2026-07-29, version 7.52.5*

This product is incredible. While I am not sleeping longer (my fault) the quality of sleep has improved 100 fold. I have so much energy, my mood is better, it’s just miraculous. I know it isn’t cheap but wow it’s worth it

### 2/5 — Another Stupid subscription

*2026-07-28, version 7.52.4*

The bed heats and cools as it should. I would have easily given it a five star…but you’re forced to buy one year subscription, which I did. Then, for most people, you realize the subscription is useless and you just need the bed to turn on and turn off. The rest is analytic fluff that your watch or phone or any other of the 13 gadgets around you can do. The only decent feature is a simple “bedtime” scheduling function where you can simply schedule when you’d like the bed to turn on each day instead of having to manually do it each night. But you’ve got to pay for the entire $300-$400 annual subscription to have this feature. Keep it. We’re tired of subscribing to everything. Let’s get back to the, “take my money, give me the thing, and let’s be done with this” way of life.

### 5/5 — Great experience

*2026-07-26, version 7.52.4*

No AC so summer can be brutal to try and sleep. The pod has been a life saver for a good night’s sleep.

### 1/5 — Awful, Awful Support

*2026-07-24, version 7.52.3*

My hub has been bricked in setup “updating firmware”, and the the best their support can do is *literally* one email back and forth every 24-48 hours. If you’re considering dropping $3k on one of these… buy literally anything else.

### 1/5 — Incredibly Buggy

*2026-07-21*

This is by far the most buggy app I have on my phone. Not exactly a great look when you charge $300+ a year for a subscription.

### 5/5 — Exceptional product and support

*2026-07-18, version 7.52.0*

I haven’t slept this well since I was a kid. Fantastic and easy to use software and system. So far I’m in love with the whole system. The customer service has been top notch as well. No complaints, just great sleep.

### 5/5 — Loving my eight sleep

*2026-07-17*

When I get into bed and it’s already warm, it’s like a hug from my bed, lol. Seriously I have had issues with temperature regulation and knowing I can make my bed warmer is such a gift. One thing I would like to say is that I thought that it was going to be reading my body temperature and then make adjustments based on how hot or cold I was and it does not do that. You basically get to set the temperature when you climb in bed and then 15 minutes after it senses that you fall asleep it’s switches to another temperature and then towards the morning it switches again and you set these numbers. It does have an auto pilot mode where it will adjust things for you. But it does not read your body temperature. It reads the ambient temperature of the room. I wouldn’t say it has drastically improved my sleep, but definitely my sense of comfort. I had a very comfortable mattress and the system did make it a tiny bit less comfortable but for the most part it’s very impressive and soft and you don’t feel the tubes under you or anything like that. It’s a very high-quality system.

### 1/5 — Buggy App + AutoPilot sucks

*2026-08-26*

The UI is constantly freezing up, becoming unresponsive, no swiping/tapping does anything for over 30 seconds, still unresponsive. So I kill the app. Happens again a minute later.

If you love buggy apps and you’re real impressed by “A.I.” features that literally improve no meaningful metrics, but instead need to be turned off.

The app really wants you to use all of its “features” like sending you a text message summary every day. I turned this off, because I find it useless and annoying. I get enough text messages. What does the app do? Keeps reminding me to “finish setting up”, but it wasn’t a feature I wanted, but it keeps asking nonetheless to turn it back on. Same with the Ambient Response “feature”, which over just a few days completely changes your temperature profile for the worse. Turn that off and it’ll keep asking to turn it back on.

Ambient Response

Alarm
Even though the mattress cover is able to detect when you’re in the bed, if you forget to turn off the alarm in the app, it will vibrate the haptic motors for minutes even when no one’s in the bed. This is purposely wearing out the haptic motors, which they know wear out over time, so you have to replace them.

Provides zero help dialling in temperature when you first get it and you have no choice but to dial in completely manually over weeks/months of bad sleep results, because auto pilot (A.I.) provided ZERO help.

Once your manually created sleep temps help you get 100% sleep quality, Eight Sleep is going to HELP YOU forget all about that over the next few days while they slowly increase all your temps until you’re getting 65% quality. That’s when you realize that the $5000 you spent was worth every cent.

So many complaints.

It’s constantly suggesting/changing to a new temperature based on the ambient room temperature before I go to bed, and I always have to check it because whenever I go with what it recommends, I have a bad sleep. If it’s bedtime changes are similar to what’s doing in the middle of the night, it’s a waste of money.

Also, when I first got Eight Sleep, Autopilot did nothing to help me find the right temperature. I had to constantly experiment with no guidance about what I was doing to dial in my temperature. Autopilot was always wrong then too.

The only time I sleep well is when I use the temperatures that I found through a LOT of manual trial and error over weeks of testing one degree adjustments at a time and comparing that to sleep results.

The Eight Sleep support team was also useless to help me dial-in anything. I spoke to them multiple times asking for guidance on temperature patterns or sleep studies, but they had no information, and were not helpful at all.

All my custom tags from the previous app have been deleted! What a waste of time.

If I click stop tracking, why doesn’t it turn off the alarm? Or ask me to turn off the alarm? Instead, I come into the room and the bed’s vibrating like crazy for who knows how long which I’m sure is hard on the motors. There’s not even a person in the bed!

**Developer response:** HI there, viewing your temperatures during different sleep stages is visible in the Autopilot Report. Tap the blue diamond from the Homepage or Metrics page, scroll down to temperature, and toggle on Sleep Stages to see temperature overlayed with Sleep Stages.

### 1/5 — App Fails to load

*2026-08-22*

App fails to load each and every time after closing it. The only solution is to re-install app or never close it. Exactly the same problem with this app on my partners iPhone!

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2026-08-17, version 7.52.6*

I pay way too much for the app to be this buggy.

### 1/5 — Backend Bugs

*2026-08-15, version 7.52.6*

I renewed my subscription and was charged $199 but the app didn’t recognize my subscription. I only ever used one email, one account, one phone, so it’s really concerning that their software has these issues. When reaching out to support I got a bunch of outdated instructions from AI that didn’t work. It was frustrating. I get the feeling that their software is heavily vibe-coded.

### 1/5 — Fix app please

*2026-08-12, version 7.52.6*

The app is very buggy and this is unacceptable for an app that requires such an expensive subscription on top of an expensive product. If you’re marking quality make software that actually works.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2026-08-08, version 7.52.6*

I love my 8Sleep, but for the love of all things holy, why did you makr the app default to the home screen on launch, instead of the pod controls?

It's like picking up the TV remote and first having to read an AI generate essay about the shows I watched yesterday and how they are affecting my mood and how I can improve tonight's TV watching experience. Why? All I want to do is to control the product I bought.

If I want to read about my sleep performance (which by the way contradicts Apple health and whoop), then I will navigate to it. Why would you force that to be home? I love my 8Sleep, it's a remarkable product, but you get 1 star for the app. You need to hire a UX expert who designs for the user, not for a shiny feature you developed that nobody asked for and is inaccurate.

### 1/5 — Mandatory 200 bucks a year for privilege of using your own $2000 device

*2026-08-05, version 7.52.5*

Doesn’t even turn on without a subscription. You have to manually turn it on. You have to unlock phone in the middle of the night to change the temperature. Hundreds of dollars every year for the privilege of having it be used as an alarm in the morning or be warm when you’re going to bed. The paid app barely does what it’s supposed to. Without extortion price paid over and over it doesn’t do squat.

### 1/5 — Too many bugs recently

*2026-08-04, version 7.52.5*

This app is suffering the vibe coding syndrome. Too many silly bugs recently. For instance, I would set my temperature to 66, it would not save and keep setting back to 69. Tried like 3x, restarted the app, etc.

Then my bedtime, which is the same and was set months ago, disappeared from the settings.

Many other examples like this. Hopefully soon someone will publish an open source app to control my pod.

### 1/5 — My sleep is worse with this

*2026-08-01, version 7.52.5*

My partner has this and my sleep worsens when I sleep over

### 1/5 — TEMP SETTINGS

*2026-07-30, version 7.52.5*

Where did the ability to change the temperature controls from degrees to just numerical values go?! Ex: “-55°, -60°” vs “-10, -9, -8” ?!?!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Yes

*2026-08-17, version 7.52.6*

We love our Eight Sleep so much it's gone from Houston, TX where we lived to 3 years in Lisbon, Portugal and tomorrow back to Houston, TX where we're moving back. It's worth 1.5 of our checked bags.

### 5/5 — Like Sleeping in A Hug

*2026-08-15, version 7.52.6*

Amazing. I don’t know how bad my sleep was until I installed the Eight. I’ve worked on sleep hygiene for 2 years and finally sleep. However, using the Eight system is an entirely new level of sleep. As a brain health and Alzheimer’s doc, this is a must for preventing brain loss.

### 5/5 — Top 10 purchase ever

*2026-08-12, version 7.52.6*

Eight Sleep is amazing. I've been using it now for about three years and I can't say enough good things about it. The product, the app, and customer support have all been 10 out of 10. I don't generally review apps but this one deserves it.

### 5/5 — Best decision we have made for sleep!

*2026-08-10, version 7.52.6*

My husband and I were both not sleeping great. We chalked it up to getting older and perimenopause for me. A friend suggested we try Eight Sleep as it has drastically changed how they sleep. We reluctantly made the purchase and boy or boy were we shocked. It has drastically changed how I sleep every night. I used to wake up at around 3:00 every single night. Toss and turn and was super hot all night long. This system has allowed me to get a FULL night sleep every night. My husband’s side can be at a different temperature and it still allows me to use blankets which I love. This has been a true game changer for us and the expense is a drop in the bucket for the quality of sleep you can get at night. 10/10. Just buy it.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-10, version 7.52.6*

Love it great sleep and gives good tips how to have better sleep me and my partner love it and I’m always cold so warming my side of the bed up is amazing, sends me straight to sleep x

### 5/5 — Temperature Regulation Dialed In

*2026-08-08, version 7.52.6*

This has changed my life. Eight Sleep has found a way to keep me comfortable all night. No more waking up soaked from a heat flash one minute and then freezing 20 minutes later. The temperature regulation has been a game changer for me. Worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Great insight

*2026-08-08, version 7.52.6*

So far we’ve been using the eight sleep since 2023. I like how it summarizes your sleep data. It tells you about your REM sleep, heart rate and more. So far I would say a lot of it has been accurate and it’s great insight to how much rest we are getting and what to look out for

### 5/5 — Wish I had gotten the 8 sleep sooner

*2026-08-08, version 7.52.6*

Has been a game changer for consistent good sleep. Love how it makes auto adjustments to improve my sleep quality. Getting the sleep data in the mornings has been really helpful too. My only regret is that I didn’t get this sooner.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-08-02, version 7.52.5*

Love the app. The UX/UI is fantastic and the updates are improving the sleep monitoring on a frequent basis.

### 5/5 — Ruins holidays and time away

*2026-08-02*

I brought an 8sleep and now my holidays are ruined! It's so good you don't want to leave your bed as the difference is sleep quality isn't just a little factor, it's huge!! I use a whoop and my recovery is almost always green, my awake time dropped from 1.32 average to below 30 minutes, my sleep stress is zero and my restorative sleep is between 50% and sometimes 100% more than I got before. It keeps you at the right temperature and honestly the best thing I have ever brought in my life! The quality of sleep I get now means i wake up feeling 10/10.. it's honestly crazy how good this is!!!
