## What is Einkochzeit?

Please note: this app is in German only. All recipes, instructions and safety notes are written in German.

164 recipes for preserving food at home - from strawberry jam to sloe liqueur. For everyone who does not want their harvest or market basket to go to waste.

WHAT IS INSIDE
- 164 recipes in 12 categories: jam, compote, vegetables, chutney, syrup, juice, ferments, dried goods, antipasti in oil, soups, meat and fish, plus 25 infused liqueurs
- Filtered by season - the app shows what is ripe right now
- Full text search across titles and ingredients

CANNING TIMER
Keeps running when you leave the app or restart your device. Several timers at once, with a notification when time is up.

MATURING TIMES
Infusions and ferments need weeks. The app remembers when to shake, season or strain, and reminds you.

PANTRY AND SHOPPING LIST
What is on which shelf, and how long will it keep? Add ingredients to the shopping list with one tap.

ALTITUDE
Water boils cooler at altitude. Enter your elevation and processing times extend automatically, following the tables of the National Center for Home Food Preservation.

SAFETY TAKEN SERIOUSLY
Low acid vegetables, meat and vegetables in oil are risky. This app says so plainly: recipes that need a pressure canner state it clearly instead of presenting a long boiling water bath as if it were safe. There is a dedicated page on botulism, the acidity threshold and warning signs on a jar.

NO INTERNET, NO ACCOUNT
Everything is contained in the app and works offline. No sign up, no ads, no tracking. Your data stays on your device.

Deliberately not included: smoking, freezing, spinach and chard.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-24

17 new recipes for late summer and autumn – including rosehip and sloe syrup, quince and pear juice, aubergines and mushrooms in oil. Plus five ways to use up a glut of courgettes, from courgette-and-pineapple jam to canned soup.

New on the home screen: a seasonal recipe suggestion that changes each time you open the app. After an update, the app now shows which recipes have been added.

Safety: recipes using courgettes and pumpkins now warn about bitter-tasting fruit – those bitter compounds are toxic and are not destroyed by cooking.

Plus minor display fixes.

Please note: this app is in German only.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-20

The App Store now correctly lists the app as German-language. System prompts - such as the notification permission request - now appear in German even on devices set to another language.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-20

No release notes.
