## What is Eisenhour?

Most to-do apps make lists. Eisenhour makes decisions.

It starts with two questions the Eisenhower method has asked for seventy years: is it important, and is it urgent? Four quadrants sort everything: do it now, schedule it, delegate it, or let it go. Then Eisenhour does what matrix apps never do: it turns those decisions into hours.

DECIDE WHAT MATTERS
• Capture tasks in seconds; triage them into quadrants when you're ready
• Steps, due dates, and focus timer on every task
• Q2, important but not urgent, is where the app gently pushes you: planning before deadlines, health before symptoms, family before repair

BLOCK THE TIME
• Drag tasks onto a real day timeline in 15-minute steps
• Your Google, work, and iCloud calendars appear beside your plan. Eisenhour reads the calendars already on your iPhone, nothing to connect
• Copy a block out to one of those calendars as a real event, repeats and all, so your plan shows up wherever you already check your day (Pro)
• A Next Block card always shows what's coming

SEE WHERE YOUR LIFE GOES
• A focus timer that logs every session and rings even on a locked phone, plus honest manual logging for the hours you forgot to time
• A contribution-style heatmap of your focused hours
• Life areas with weekly targets and streaks, so work doesn't quietly swallow health, family, and learning

A CARD YOU CAN HAND TO SOMEONE
• Build a business or personal card inside the app: name, title, phone, email, and links with names that read as names
• Share it as an image, or as a PDF whose phone, email, and links are genuinely tappable
• Keep several: work, personal, side business (one card free, more with Pro)
• Send any task the same way, steps and all, as plain text

YOURS ALONE
Eisenhour is local-first. Your tasks, your focus history, your cards: all of it lives on your iPhone and rides your normal iCloud backup. No account to create, no server to trust, no tracking. The privacy label says "Data Not Collected" because there is nothing to collect. The one thing that can ever leave is a block you choose to copy to a calendar, and that goes out through your own calendar account, not through us.

FREE AND PRO
The method is free forever: the matrix, capture, steps, time blocking with repeats, reading your real calendars beside your plan, the focus timer, a card to share, and two life areas. One purchase, Eisenhour Pro, with no subscription, unlocks planning any day past or future, copying a block out to a calendar as a real event, your full year of focus history, performance reports over any range, unlimited life areas with targets and streaks, unlimited cards, the dark theme, and export and import.

Built by a professor who has run his working life on this exact system, first as a private tool, now as the app it deserved to be.

Decide what matters. Block the time. See where your life goes.

### 5/5 — One productivity app that does it all

*2026-09-08*

I’ve tried a lot of productivity apps, and this is one of the few that really works for me. When something pops into my head, I just put it in the Inbox and deal with it later. Then I can sort my tasks using the Eisenhower Matrix, add them to my calendar, and use the focus timer when I’m ready to work. I also love that I can see how much time I’m spending on work, family, personal things, etc. One small thing I’d love to see is the option to tap on a section of the Matrix and create a task right there. Other than that, this app has pretty much everything I need in one place and has made planning my days much easier.

**Developer response:** Thank you, Tina. Inbox, matrix, calendar, timer and the balance view working as one thing is exactly what I built it for, so this made my day. Tapping a quadrant to add a task straight into it is already on the list for the next update; you will see it in 1.0.2. If anything else gets in your way, support@eisenhour.app reaches me directly.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-11

The small things a week of real use asked for, and the first review.

• Block reminders. A notification when a time block starts, or 5, 15 or any number of minutes before. Off by default; switch it on in More.
• Add a task straight into a quadrant. Every list has a field at the top, and a long press on a quadrant tile opens it ready to type.
• Swipe right on a task to mark it done. The title strikes itself through, and the same Undo pill puts it back. More has a setting to swap the two swipes.
• A morning line on the matrix for yesterday's unfinished blocks: move them to today, or let them go.
• Finished blocks step back on the calendar so the eye lands on what is still ahead.
• Share today's matrix as an image or a PDF from the share mark on the matrix, and share any task the same way from its own Share.
• Start a focus session from a task at 10, 25, 60 or any number of minutes. The pomodoro estimate is gone; finished sessions still count.
• Tasks keep one order, oldest at the top, newest at the bottom, including everything you imported. Any hand ordering from 1.0.1 is reset once by this update.
• The area editor says what its two targets do: hours for the weekly balance, sessions for the streak.
• Import shows what a file would change before it touches anything, and can merge with what is on the phone instead of replacing it. Export says what it wrote.
• What's new and what's next, inside the app, under More.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-07

The first update, a few days after launch, and most of it came from using the app on a real phone.

• Swipe left on a task to delete it, in the Inbox, the quadrant lists and the expanded matrix. A small Undo appears for five seconds and counts down, so a slip is one tap away from fixed.
• Time blocks drag in every calendar view now, including sideways across days in the 3-day and week views. One gesture moves a block to Wednesday at 2:30.
• The week can start on Sunday. It follows your region by default, and More has a Sun / Mon switch that flips the calendar, the month grids, the focus heatmap and the weekly balance together.
• Finish on a running focus session now tells you what it logged, and asks first if the session is under a minute.
• Edits you make right before closing a task are kept: the title, a new step, a repeat count.
• Calendar copies follow their blocks: a drag or a title change updates the event, switching a repeat off leaves one event, and a copy you deleted in Calendar is recreated once, not twice.
• A focus session survives force-quitting the app and keeps its task; the alarm re-arms when you restart the same length.
• Hidden life areas stay out of the pickers and the weekly balance, and unhiding one on the free plan explains itself.
• Many smaller fixes to import, drag ordering and the matrix header after a night in the background.
