As a work around, I’ve been saving my project after e very AP. This will take me twice as much time as usual to accomplish the same tasks. ### 3/5 — Good enough, needs a few things *2024-01-25, version 3.1* Could use some updates and QOL features, but it runs decently enough. I would LOVE the ability to use the app horizontally or vertically. Would make certain projects much easier to view. ### 3/5 — Missing features *2023-08-22, version 2.6* 1. When you survey with AI pro the last point where you clicked when doing a continuous survey is shown with a larger dot and color so you know where your last reading was taken. With this app the first, last & current dot all are the same color/ size. If you missed a point and have to undo the last point this force stops the test instead of just undoing the last point. Just having the last reading marker be a different color or size would help when your pathways require you to go over a previous reading. 2. You cannot quickly inspect SNR readings. In order to view snr you will need to stop testing, upload to cloud, download onto a device that runs Ekahau AI pro then view SNR. Not too big of a deal with a small project but SK2 has resulted in 800mb files. Seeing as you have the options to view Channel interface, RTT & noise. I feel it could be possible to add SNR. ### 2/5 — Has been useful, until latest update (2.3) *2022-09-26, version 2.3* Serious issues since updating: 1) False survey points registering to screen during survey. Confirmed to only occur in this app in order to factor out screen/digitizer possibility. Other apps tested ok. 2) Survey points occasionally disappear behind me as I am surveying. Seems to correlate with an auto save. Points disappear, blue (auto save) progress bar followed by a resumed red (recording) bar…at this point the prior survey points are missing. 3) Occasional prompts to resolve saved file conflicts with sidekick. This has also happened mid-survey with the sidekick remaining connected to the same iPad. As the file schema has been updated, it’s likely that restoring a prior, working, version is off the table. ### 1/5 — Latest 2.1 version is broken *2022-03-15, version 2.1* App constantly quits reading both wireless bands. Does 2.4 or 5 only. Once this behavior starts can not be fixed without removing and re-installing app. Same issue across 3 iPads and 3 sidekicks. Clicking on set up account takes you to another page where you are asked for your details, including a ‘license key’ which clearly you don’t have at this stage. Filling out the form without a license key doesn’t get you anywhere and prevents you from registering and setting up your account in the first place ### 1/5 — License Key *2020-11-08, version 1.3.4* Why not just advertise you need a dam license key? If you attempt to set up a new account it requires the license key. No mention of cost or method to get a key. That said, put some cost expectations in the description. I want to test this out in my personal life to see if it would be valuable for an upcoming contract with the DoD. I saw it on the App Store and thought, bonus I can quietly try it out. No such luck. ### 1/5 — Not a good product *2025-03-05, version 3.6.3* Crashes constantly on iPad Pro. Not worth it. ### 1/5 — APs no longer show by color on the map, sidekick freezes, unable to see APs under AP detail panel *2025-02-13, version 3.6.3* I use color coding of APs to indicate progress and per-AP status while performing a visual inventory (post RF survey). Now this feature is no longer working. All APs are shown as a white circle rather than by the color they were coded as. If clicking into details, I do see the color, but this is not useful when trying to work from the map. Also, latest firmware appears to freeze the sidekick two during periods of inactivity. I’m forced to reboot the sidekick to resume surveying. This did not happen until most recent firmware update. Also, unable to move APs near the edge of the map as the AP details panel covers them up and the app will no longer allow me to scroll the map out from underneath the panel. ### 1/5 — Problemas Graves con sidekick 2 wifi 6 *2024-08-08, version 3.4.2* Bugs de resolución urgente por favor, no puedo realizar survey en 6 ya que no la reconoce he reiniciado múltiples veces. Needs a separate licence in order to even look at the app. No demo mode! ### 1/5 — Ok when it works horrible when it doesn’t *2023-03-29, version 2.4.1* Used by many wireless professionals, you’re able to get good results when it works and you’ve worked through all the bugs and issues which you will encounter when using the product. Excellent support team very helpful and quick to resolve issues.Here is a list of my frustrations with this product; - Crashes to Home Screen constantly - I’ve had plenty occurrences of data loss due to crashes; loss of surveys and pictures. - Cannot move survey notes. - Project files sometimes refuse to sync to the Ekahau cloud, leading to the project file to be stuck on the iPad, which means you need to recover the project off the iPad - time wasted - Doesn’t integrate with other cloud providers like SharePoint - As the amount surveys increases the time to start a new survey is extended due to “building survey data”. This leads to wasted time waiting for application to be ready to survey. - Micro USB connector for sidekick wares out easily causing the sidekick to disconnect from the iPad - Pop-up alerts such as iOS’ “battery low” message will stop any survey that is in progress - Ekahau insights seems pointless and has made Ekahau cloud less reliable in my experience (when loading project files from the cloud) All in all pretty frustrating experience especially considering the licensing cost of this product. Adding to the list of complaints , you cannot open project files from any other cloud storage provider (SharePoint OneDrive iCloud etc) except for the Ekahau Cloud. ### 1/5 — Not free. Ich will immer noch ein iPad Pencil empfehlen, die Wegpunkte sollten manuell gewählt werden. Dann hat man die akkuratesten Ergebnisse für APOS. Das störende Herauszoomen beim Ändern/Kommentieren/Versetzen von AP's ist leider immer noch da, ferner ist die Kommentaransicht mit der eigeblendeten Tastatur noch problematisch. Ansonsten gibt es meinerseits überhaupt nichts zu meckern. Ich würde nicht mehr ohne losziehen wollen. Diese App benötigt - zum Glück - eine Subscription, Ekahau Pro, einen Sidekick und sachkundige Nutzer. Trotzdem gibt's hier Leute, die meinen, sich eine 1-Sterne-Bewertung erlauben zu können. Ärgerlich. ### 5/5 — Wenn Enterprise WLAN dann hiermit! *2020-11-16, version 1.3.4* Erst mal zu der Rezension von @ollyhal: Schlaf weiter. Diese App ist für Architekten für professionelles Enterprise WLAN in Verbindung mit Ekahau Site Survey und dem Sidekick. Eine Produktpalette, die es absolut wert ist und eine App, die genau das tut, wofür sie konzeptioniert ist. An diese Anwender richtet sich auch die App und wer kein Site Survey und den Sidekick besitzt kann sich den Download und das Zurschaustellen der eigenen Ignoranz sparen. ;) ### 5/5 — Powerful survey tool in the palm of your hand *2020-03-08, version 1.2.3* Ekahau Survey for iOS makes measuring your Wi-Fi super easy. It basically supports all of the measuring functions of Ekahau Pro (the desktop app) when you hook your sidekick up to your phone. Import projects from the Cloud or sidekick and get to walking! Super easy to use on iPhone with your finger or on an iPad with or without a pencil. Great for field teams that can go and gather data and upload it for someone else to review or to aggregate as part of a larger team project. ARkit integration means tapping the screen less and is a super easy way to pay more attention to where you’re walking and less attention on the screen. Tap semi regularly to reorient yourself for best results. A must have for any organization that cares about ensuring their Wi-Fi is performing as optimally as it can! ### 5/5 — Professional Survey Tool *2020-02-25, version 1.2.2* Diese App vereinfacht die oft als mühsam empfundene WLAN VorOrt Messungen deutlich. Da die Daten für die Empfangsleistung (RSSI) vom anzuschliessenden Messgerät Ekahau Sidekick erfasst werden, bestimmt dessen konsistente Empfangsempfindlichkeit und definierte Messkurve die Qualität der Messergebnisse. Zeitgleich erfasst der im Sidekick integrierte Spektrumanalysator ein Dualband Spektrogram. Die App ist nach kurzer Einweisung von jedem mit 3 abgestimmten Survey Modi sehr leicht zu bedienen. ### 5/5 — Amazing time saver *2020-01-08, version 1.2.1* Yes this product is for a paid licensed service and isn’t free but doesn’t warrant an angry 1 star rating as per the other user. This software combined with the sidekick makes surveys fast and easy with minimal fuss. They are adding new features as the product matures but even in its current format it has massively improved survey times without ending the day with knackered arms from holding a laptop. Battery life is good with an iPad Pro and you can do 4 to 6 hours of surveying at least before needing a recharge. ### 5/5 — Great survey tool for serious surveys *2019-11-23, version 1.2.0* We have been using Ekahau for many years on the laptop. The iPad and iPhone option with a Sidekick is a serious game changer. Check the latest release... many new changes including the ability to freeze an AP during AP on a Stick surveys. Woo hoo. This update is a great one. ### 5/5 — Industry best of breed product *2019-06-12, version 1.0.3* As a long time user of the desktop product, this is a huge evolution in doing site surveys. Using the Ekahau Sidekick with an iPad Pro has moved site surveys from being an all day exercise in holding a laptop in front of you to something light with all-day battery life and cloud integration. I can either log in back at my desk for a deep review or have other people on my team pull it off the cloud for review. You can also have multiple people doing surveys on their iPad with the Sidekick and consolidate it all for review into one file automagically. Really well done and an essential part of kit for any wireless engineer. ### 5/5 — I love this App *2019-04-09, version 1.0* This is the best Wi-Fi Survey app on the App Store (In My Humble Opinion) Quick Disclaimer, I do work for Ekahau...
