## Newest reviews (10 of 45)

### 3/5 — Doesn't refresh data

*2017-01-14, version 3.0.16*

Using C1M1. When arm or disarm, app will not show current status without exiting app and restarting. Using elk link app, works great.

### 2/5 — Needs Landscape Mode

*2016-08-11, version 3.0.2*

Generally works fine but setup isn't simple. Also app can fall asleep and takes a few seconds to reconnect each time. Finally, there is no landscape mode, only portrait!

### 4/5 — Good, but.....

*2016-04-04, version 2.24.0*

This app will control the keypad, but they removed the F keys. Please bring back the F keys, some of us use them for different controls.

### 3/5 — Good app for M1 Gold - got neutered

*2015-12-13, version 2.24.0*

Update-Works good, but the author took away the F-key functions.

I can control my Elk M1 Gold with it. Needs better notification support (maybe difficult to implement) but it works as a keypad.

### 2/5 — Miss the f keys

*2015-07-26, version 2.20.12*

Not sure why the f keys were removed from the app. Really miss that feature.

### 3/5 — Version available on 07-04-2015 crashes on ios7.x devices.

*2015-07-07, version 2.20.12*

The version available on 07-04-2015 crashes on ios7.x devices. Otherwise, a good app.

### 2/5 — Business owner

*2013-08-20, version 2.12.2*

I want to like it but the armed/disarmed status is currently unreliable. Which is the reason I wanted it... Can you fix this?

### 5/5 — Great app, great support!

*2012-11-27, version 2.8.4*

This app is unbelievable! I wanted to try the free one before purchasing the "good" one. I encountered a problem getting it to work over the 3G, I emailed jayson, he was quick to respond, and very knowledgable! I will be purchasing the Pro app! Great app, I highly recommend it to everyone! Thanks for all the help jayson!

### 5/5 — Great customer service and it support

*2012-06-26, version 2.6.12*

I have this app and a few of the modules to expand it for 2 elk systems and I love it. I run a 24 hour business that I can now remotely set and turn off my alarm. Jayson is a ton of help if you have any issues and emails you back in minutes not days.

### 5/5 — eKeypad review

*2011-12-21, version 2.6.4*

This app is extremely easy to install and configure. Support is stellar too. I submitted a question and it was answered in less than an hour with the solution. I highly recommend products from this provider.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Zone status fail

*2025-05-23, version 3.8.68*

Spent about six weeks trying to get this app to work with my ELK alarm system. I even brought in an IT specialist to help. We tried numerous changes in the configuration as well as a new modem and a new router. Support was responsive and helpful, however, I was never able to get the app to stay synchronized with the status of the system and therefore it was unusable. I wasn’t able to arm the system because it thought the door was open or that it wasn’t bypassed. Unfortunately it’s been more than 30 days so I am not able to get a refund. Really disappointed.

### 1/5 — Awful. This App is unreliable and frustrating!

*2018-08-03, version 3.0.42*

Unfortunately Elk is the example of how money can’t buy you happiness, nor reliability, nor customer satisfaction. If you want to use you alarm remotely, this certainly is the biggest waste of money. It vary rarely connects. I have to enter and exit the app multiple times. And if sh it sticks I can finally do the thing I bought it for!

### 1/5 — Doesn't Work

*2017-01-21, version 3.0.16*

All I want to do is set the alarm from my bedroom. It doesn't work, it never has.

### 1/5 — Function Keys?!?!

*2016-01-23, version 2.24.0*

Why would you remove the function keys from your app? M1 systems are multi platform systems, to remove the function keys is a an unacceptable pitfall for standard M1 functionality. We didn't fork out for the M1 to be shut down by crappy app building, otherwise we would just buy a Dx.

### 1/5 — Crashes on launch

*2015-07-30, version 2.20.12*

Not sure what there is to review when the app doesn't work

### 1/5 — Don't upgrade!!!

*2015-07-29, version 2.20.12*

No more panic button or f keys. What a waste. Extremely dissatisfied.

### 1/5 — Lost it's benefit

*2014-07-10, version 2.18.6*

After the update became worthless app.
No more access the F keys

### 1/5 — Update crashes iPad2

*2013-03-28, version 2.10.8*

Works ok on an iPhone 4s though.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2011-11-14, version 2.6.2*

Latest update has taken away the GUI to control my keypad. I have only config and status. No control over my system anymore and I use this daily. Needs a fix ASAP.

Previous versions are great. Works just the way it should.

### 2/5 — Poor screen fit

*2022-03-16, version 3.6.34*

Been using this app for last 2 years. Never displayed correct on iPhone 12 Pro Max. Been told the developer hasn’t programmed it to properly display on larger screens. Please spend the time to update your apps to properly display. The top is cut off and can’t easily use it. Particularly if I’m away and alarm is going off , need to see all parts of the screen to manage emergencies

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great tech support

*2025-03-10, version 3.8.68*

The technical support for the app has been outstanding. I’m not technically savvy and the tech was very patient and responsive. He walked me through everything until the problem was solved.

### 5/5 — iOS 14 has messed it up but an otherwise great app

*2020-09-20, version 3.4.44*

This app has worked great for me up until iOS 14 got installed. Now it refuses to automatically update alarm status after arming/disarming unless you exit the app and reenter. I am sure this will be addressed in the next update.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2020-02-19, version 3.4.16*

We used the app for years and never had an major problems.

Haven’t reviewed in the past because it just work but I noticed an update and figured I would give input.

### 5/5 — Best App for the Best Security System

*2018-12-26, version 3.2.10*

The app works well with the Elk M1 Panel. Installed on many systems and I love it.

### 5/5 — Brilliant! Totally worth it

*2018-01-18, version 3.0.42*

This app brings the Ness M1 to the digital age. Really well designed app. I installed it and it got it working within 2 minutes. The layout is great and very clear. I have a ness m1 gold. The Apple warch interface is also very cool and usable. You can arm and disarm from the Apple Watch. My wife needs an easy to use system and this will do the job perfectly! No more key fobs!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-06-01, version 3.0.2*

Reliable, doesn't crash and intuitive. If there is one critique I would like to mention is I would like the ability to see the Outputs on my Elk M1 Gold

### 5/5 — Best in its class. Unmatched support

*2014-06-06, version 2.18.0*

New features all the time, constant development, extreme performance. Oh, and customer service is all that x10. Best Ever!

### 5/5 — Great

*2013-11-08, version 2.14.12*

I don't mind this new icon

### 5/5 — ekeypad is the best!

*2012-12-20, version 2.10.0*

A "must have" app for ELK M1. Works very well and designed for a very smooth user interface. Great support. Worth its price. I just love it and use it daily.

### 5/5 — Great support

*2012-12-13, version 2.8.4*

Excellent app with great support. I was concerned about the slow frequency of updates, emailed the author and he responded with a detailed message explaining their release cycle which quickly relieved any concern I had.
