I had to delete my kettle, factory reset the kettle itself, then re-connect to see if I had the latest firmware. Once updated, the app thinks I have a pending update still. This app is bonkers. I wish I could look at the code to fix it for them. ### 4/5 — It does what it says, though it doesn’t do much *2026-01-18, version 1.1.2* So it’s fine, the app. The one complication is that I accidentally backed up past the login page, and I had to login again; I can’t decide if that’s a feature or a bug. It says the app will update the firmware of the tea kettle (or however you want to use it; that’s my use), though that hasn’t been a possibility in two weeks I’ve owned it. I’m just not sure what the point is. The website implies that there might maybe possibly be more functionality, sometime, if the fellows get to it. I’ll leave my rating at four with the hope of rewarding some ingenious update that will make it more functional with a higher rating. ### 1/5 — Seriously does not work! *2025-12-11, version 1.1.2* This is suppose to be a high end product but this app is a piece of junk. App finds an update available, and begins doing something… before not doing something, fails to go through with the update, and then tells you the kettle “hasn’t checked in for a while”. I expected better from Fellow. I bought the Stagg Pro not knowing it had wi-fi capabilities, so I’m not overly fussed. It finds an update and even says it’s updating, but after a while the kettle just disconnects and it never updates its firmware. I’ve had my Corvo kettle for 3 years and loved it until recently. Suddenly my kettle started taking a lot longer to heat. The final fifteen degrees takes over a minute. I contacted customer support and was told, “With the latest firmware update, the slower approach as the kettle reaches your target temperature was intentional.” They went on to say that pour over fans wanted precise temperatures. As I was excited to use the WiFi features I went to connect it to realize the app doesn’t even work. After you download the app and agree to terms you hit continue to connect accept Bluetooth and a bunch of fellow devices pop up but all frayed out. Tried a few times. Especially dumb that an app exists just for firmware updates - there’s zero reason to update the software of a kettle if there’s no app interface for it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Worked + Troubleshooting Tips *2026-01-23, version 1.1.2* I installed the app and both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections worked immediately for me. However, the update did not work at first. The key trick in my case was this: The kettle must be plugged in, but not switched on. This is an important detail — I had turned it on before, which prevented the update from starting. Once I only plugged in the kettle, a downloading message appeared on the small LCD display and the update went through successfully. Although the app still showed “Update coming soon” afterwards, you can check the actual firmware version by turning the kettle on and holding the small button next to the dial for about 10 seconds. At that time, my kettle showed firmware version 1.2.5, which is the current one. For me, who has the latest iPhone and the latest app update and the latest iOS version, it worked without any issues and updated the firmware of my EKG as expected. Updated in a minute or 2 and it found the kettle immediately after I opened the app. ### 5/5 — Dramatic Reviews *2024-12-28, version 1.1.1* Everyone needs to chill out with their dramatic reviews of this app. This app does ONE thing which is to facilitate the software update of the firmware. It takes time. It took me overnight for the app to reflect that the kettle updated. No big deal because the kettle had the same functionality before the update as after the update. If this app was needed for remote functioning of the kettle, and that wasn’t working right away, sure that would be frustrating, but that’s not the case. You use and program the kettle only on the kettle. So my advice to everyone is just tell the app to update the kettle and walk away. It’ll update eventually and doesn’t need the update right away for you to have full functionality of the kettle. ### 5/5 — Easy Peasy! As soon as it was connected, the firmware update automatically downloaded and installed. I have no idea why someone could possibly claim they have the grounds to give a one star. Besides, if you can afford the high price tag of the Pro version, be thankful you can at least do that. Let alone the beans, the grinder, the dripper, the filters, the flask, the amount of time and energy it takes farmers to pick coffee cherries in the hot sun to support themselves, their familes, friends, community. Not to mention the entire, global supply chain beans have to go through just so you can drink a nice coffee from the comfort of your residence. And that is just for coffee, tack on tea. But nah, let's complain about an app that you honestly don't even need in the first place. It's just a kettle...
