Just be an error? ### 2/5 — What update?? *2024-08-02, version 1.90* The map function is terrible and pretty much useless. Not sure how it’s been updated. ### 2/5 — Need planner organized by times *2023-08-16, version 1.21* Good map, but app is let down by not being able to add or sort/organize events and activities by time. Also searching for an activity or show bag works better on the website than the app, which brings different and irrelevant results to what you are trying to search for. ### 1/5 — Still buggy? *2025-07-23, version 3.00* Immediately right away the event finder & “add to my day” function isn’t working or using the “+” button next to for example a ride, a showbag or an item to add it to your Ekka. It loads, then displays right back to the same symbol (+ remains a +) and doesn’t add to your day / itinerary. Still such a poorly done, bug riddled, average app that honestly has all the potential in the world to be a really good app. Disappointed for another year. Maybe less effort on AR/AI for kids and more on actual native FRs that the majority of the app user group will be looking to utilise. ### 1/5 — Clunky interface - not useful *2023-08-19, version 1.21* I’ve just spent half hour trying to find out what’s on and schedule my day but the interface is like something from the 80s - far too clunky. I’m deleting the Ekka app. The developers should look at the app for Woodford Folk Festival, which has functional search features and lets you easily schedule each day at an event that has many more venues and events on the program. ### 1/5 — Useless *2023-08-14, version 1.21* Cannot filter what’s on by kids events. Cannot sort by performance time. Cannot link directly to location on map. Cannot search “main stage” on map. Absolutely useless ### 1/5 — Unusable *2023-08-13, version 1.21* Doesn’t allow pasting of usernames/password. Unusable for anyone with a password manager (which should be you, dear reader). Can’t filter by location of event. No visual difference between events running on multiple days and not. We have to try to tap on each day to see if the event is running on that day. Too much effort spent on VR rubbish. Insufficient spent on actually helping people plan their day. ### 1/5 — Cannot Login *2023-08-13, version 1.21* There is no ability to login with the password. You have to manually type this in this is unacceptable. Takes no account for blind users. He is the auto fill click feature. I’ll be reporting this app to Apple to see if it violates Apple’s terms of service with accessibility ### 1/5 — Wasted opportunity for a good app *2023-08-12, version 1.21* Search function on the map doesn’t identify the obvious listed events / locations that make up the what’s on schedule (such as venomous snake show). When you click view map from an event, it doesn’t always highlight where you need to go. Not all locations are listed on the map (and as the search doesn’t work well, it was challenging to use this effectively). Other similar theme park apps automatically drop your saved events in timeline order or suggest an “ideal” order of the day based on your selections. This saves having to click into each event to see the times - even just having the next time something is on showing on the search / saved list could be better. Live updates to time delays could also be useful, given the first night EKKAnites was more than an hour late and the individual times noted didn’t match up or seem to allow for the opening ceremony - which wasn’t listed at all! Clearly a lot of dev went into the app to get it to the point it is, there is a lot of opportunity to make it more effective. ### 1/5 — Barely works *2023-08-12, version 1.21* Unfortunately the My Ekka function just lists the saved activities, events and shows should be shown in chronological order Major locations such as the Main Stage weren’t even on the map ### 1/5 — Ekkatraordinarily inaccessible *2023-08-10, version 1.12* This App is totally useless to VoiceOver users. The Support link takes you to the Ekka webpage but there seems no way to communicate with the developer. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Some great new features *2026-07-17* The new app has some really helpful things. I’ve used the day builder to plan my family’s multiple Ekka days! Got all the showbags sorted for the kids and all the food places we wanna visit. I like the easy search categories that scroll along the top. Can’t wait for show day! ### 5/5 — Seems like a good tool for Ekka *2024-08-06* I've been able to schedule my day easily. It should be super helpful if everything functions as planned on the day. The kids are already enjoying taking photos with the sheep, and we're looking forward to finding the rest of them at the event. ### 5/5 — The EKKA (Exhibition) *2023-08-13, version 1.21* Had a great day out at the EKKA (Exhibition). Milo is such a good dog, i just couldn’t stop laughing (I know I’m a softy :P). One thing I think would be a cool feature was a system to create your dog avatar with customisable ears and awesome tails and whatnot. Maybe even romance Milo? Great app, had a super time 👍 ### 5/5 — Great for Tech Savy peeps *2023-08-12, version 1.21* Honestly, it’s a relatively good app for a 1+ week event. Unless you’re not tech savy, it’s pretty handy. I wish there’s a more user-friendly timetabling to organize the activities. Would be so much better to see the whole schedule of a particular date in a timeline chart. ### 4/5 — App *2024-08-14, version 1.98* Great app. Love the features . The Goldie sheep part of it is malfunctioning. When I am home, suddenly I'll receive a message that GOLdie is near by! If only Goldie was nearby at the ekka so I could have a chance of winning a showbag! ### 3/5 — Serviceable but missing some key features *2024-08-09, version 1.94* The app is fine for people that know what day they are going and want to see what’s on, but there is no way to see what days things are on other than going into each day and searching. It would be better to have an option to search for events across all days. For example, what days are sheep dog trials on?3 or what day should I go if I want to see showjumping? ### 3/5 — Fine but clunkier than necessary… *2024-08-07, version 1.90* After getting past the fact the app doesn’t accept automatic password input or even pasting, which is frustrating when many of us now use modern password managers with complicated passwords, it was definitely a nicer interface than expected. Unfortunately, there are some needlessly clunky features that make simple additions to plans take a few steps more than they should. Most notably, these relate to having to choose a date and time to add things like showbags, rides and food, when you’d expect those and other all day, anytime wish list items to be added to a simple, uncommitted list of things to do. Then, when you do add something, the acknowledgment says it’s “already” added, implying the attempt was a double up. Events also default to the first date offered, rather than acknowledging the date for which we have tickets. It is what it is but it could be so much better. Here’s hoping things can be streamlined next year and follow a more logical UI. ### 2/5 — Not great *2026-08-08, version 3.10* Select the day you want to go and it shows you everything anyway.
