## What is El Filibusterismo?

El Filibusterismo (1891) is José Rizal's sequel to Noli Me Tángere — a sharper, more radical novel written in exile in Ghent. Crisóstomo Ibarra returns to the Philippines as the vengeful jeweler Simoun, moving in the highest circles of colonial society while quietly plotting revolution.
