### 1/5 — Terrible

*2020-07-11, version 4.10.3*

Worst customer service ever

### 1/5 — Restaurants wanting online ordering....just don’t with Talech

*2020-04-22, version 4.10.0*

The customer service for minor things is ok but if you are hoping for online ordering and payment option run as far away as you can. So many issues I’ll try to list a few key points that should be “common sense” this app is lacking.
1. Do you offer delivery? DONT USE THIS APP. You can not control your delivery boundaries so anyone from anywhere can make an order. There is nowhere to place a disclaimer such as a delivery boundary either. (refund policy, terms and conditions fields are all unusable also)
2. Does you restaurant offer different hours for delivery from your store front? DONT USE THIS APP. It’s all or nothing with Talech. You CANNOT have different hours for delivery and in store.
3. Do you ever close? Sure you do, but with the Talech app even though they ask you to input your restaurant hours the online cart never closes, so late night Larry can make an order online and if he’s not watching the delivery timeline he’ll being impatiently waiting you to show up...imagine how angry he will be when he discovers he prepaid online for an order he won’t get until the next business day.
4. Taking prepayment online to avoid your staff from having to carry a portable debit machine (especially now with social distancing people do not want to touch a machine) DONT even get me started on what a cluster this option was to set up....in fact over a month later it’s still not working as promised. Online debit payment using a CC backed Debit card is apparently possible but no one can seem to figure out how to make it so.
LASTLY (not really last I have so many other issues but this list is already too long) Talech is owned by Elevon but the two companies do not work well together and are very quick to point the finger at the other when there is an issue leaving you as a customer feeling like a child in the middle of a divorce waiting MONTHS (one issue took 4 months) for anything to resolve.

### 1/5 — No working labor calculator....

*2020-02-17, version 4.8.7*

Tragic failure of an app
Good for children’s side of street lemonade for 5¢ stand though

### 1/5 — Use this company and go out of business

*2019-11-25, version 4.8.5*

This company is a scam and will put you out of business. They blame their partners for their inefficiencies

### 1/5 — Full of bugs, tech support is not experienced

*2019-09-26, version 4.8.3*

This software is constantly suffering from programming bugs. Even when a new version has bugs, they don’t roll back to the old version and force you to wait weeks for them to be fixed. Calling tech support is useless, none of them have experience with the software and they offer little help. After 2 years we have outgrown this basic program and we are working on switching to more professional software ASAP.

### 1/5 — Kitchen printing doesn’t always work

*2019-05-07, version 4.7.8*

Like the title says, kitchen printing doesn’t always work. If you are using the pos for restaurant, make sure you use it for few weeks at least before you sign up service with them. We reported the issue to support team more than 5 months ago but still no solution to the problem. At first support team members kept bouncing the problem to another support member. Then finally we got a single point of contact who seemed to be ‘assuming’ only and trying to blame the problem with ISP, router, network, signal and so on. We spoke with ISP, got a commercial dedicated router still nothing. We are still waiting to hear from their support team. Don’t recommend it, I would if the printing worked. Kitchen printing is critical for restaurants. I hope Talech support team realizes that.

### 2/5 — Register app

*2018-12-29, version 4.6.6*

This app has stopped working on numerous occasions and It will not allow me access into my register. Please fix this as I have called Talech Support about this.

### 1/5 — No integrated payment

*2018-12-20, version 4.6.5*

The credit card processing isn’t integrated meaning there are 4 total companies involved not including my own. They all want a piece of the pie and if something goes wrong I have to call 4 support lines and they all blame one of the other companies. This is “red tape” and the “go around” at its finest. Steer clear of this app!

### 1/5 — Customer Service

*2018-08-13, version 4.5.2*

I helped build this system when they wanted to break into restaurants from just retail. The upgrades are usually good but when you call, help is hit and miss. I usually find googling my problem to be more helpful than most of the techies. The last upgrade was useless.

### 1/5 — Very Poor Customer Service

*2017-05-15, version 4.2.18*

After 5 months in business using Talech POS for iPad I can tell you that the biggest opportunity for this company is to educate and streamline their customer service department. The program itself offers many great features (when they work as they should) and I am hopeful that Talech will work diligently to improve their customer service.

On more than 10 occasions I have called in for a software related issue or program glitch where I am met with pushback from the customer service team trying to discredit the issue I am having. With some persuading I am able to take them through the steps to identify the issue to which the answer is always "I have created a case for you with a ticket number and we have forwarded this to our tier 2 customer support. I will follow up with you before the end of the day with a status update once they get back to me." (Which they rarely do) I am then left waiting days and days for an answer that never comes. It is usually another issue days later that prompts me making another phone call to address the new issue that has surfaced as well as follow up on the previous issue which was never resolved. Is it to much to ask to speak with an associate that can actually address and resolve my issues on the first phone call? I have a business to run and Talech is a program which I pay for to make running my business easier. Spending hours on the phone each week with no resolution week after week makes me begin to question wether this program is saving or costing me time.

It may be time to start looking for a new POS system if this continues. Perhaps I will resort back to Shopkeep POS which didn't have all the features that Talech does but at least their software worked as it should, and when I had issues I was able to speak with a knowledgable person on the subject who followed up promptly by phone and not with generic emails referencing basic operation steps which have already been exhausted.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Troublemaker

*2025-08-20, version 8.9*

Every time it does an upgrade on the app something goes very wrong. Eg. Can’t input tips, some items go missing when printing receipts, some items did not have taxes, some items modifications were messed up, the prices of some items are messed up. Couldn’t submit settlement……. It can go on and on and on……… A note to the support team: PLEASE DON’T UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEMS, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!!!! What’s the point of upgrading when you cause frustrations???!!!

### 1/5 — Losing Game

*2025-02-13, version 8.4.0*

This is a horrible program customer service is a complete failure these are criminals ; they will shut down your restaurant like fast no service will come to your rescue don’t waste your money

### 1/5 — TALECH IS CRIMINAL!

*2023-06-27, version 6.6.1*

The executives of this company need to be thrown in jail for fraud. Nothing short of criminal for this scam of a system. Has never worked properly in the 4 years I’ve had it. Crashes, fails to communicate with merchant card reader, lost 3 years of sales data (which was inaccurate at best but at least better than what is now non-existent). I would have switched years ago if we didn’t have 10k of our different products in the system. Total loss to start over. If you are reading this and have same issues, let’s file class action. I can’t go it alone.

### 1/5 — Horrible program

*2022-03-21, version 6.0.2*

Stay away from talech. Their programming Is horrible. Full of bugs. Tech support is useless unless you are trying to do something simple like a price change. They promise the world and deliver nothing. My system has been down for 4 days and they don’t care. They schedule a time to call and then don’t call. DO NOT GET TALECH.

### 1/5 — Totally Unprofessional

*2022-03-16, version 6.0.0*

This company continues to produce updates that cripple a business for weeks until they can resolve them. Run to any other system you can

### 1/5 — glitchy and slow

*2021-09-21, version 5.4.1*

we have had countless problems with this software since day one. i do not recommend

### 1/5 — terrible customer support

*2021-05-11, version 5.3.1*

they have supposedly sent us a card reader weeks ago and just now called for a serial number to ship the reader.. what a joke. thousands lost in processing fees and angey customers trying to get refunds.

### 1/5 — Absolutely Awful

*2021-02-26, version 5.2.3*

This app is terrible for retail and their online system and site is ugly and a joke. Constant organizational frustrations within the inventory. We are stuck with this app because our company is too cheap to upgrade to Shopify, which we BEGGED them to do.

### 1/5 — Avoid Talech, Terrible Support & Glitches

*2021-01-05, version 5.2.2*

If you’re a restaurant business, avoid using talech. They are partnered with Elavon and both of these companies are a nightmare to deal with. Talech uses a payment processor called POYNT Terminal and this machine constantly needs to be manually reconnected to the Talech app. You cannot process returns because the functionality is completely broken. If you call Talech support they will run you through the same steps to connect and reconnect but this doesn’t help when the software feature is completely broken. If they do happen to raise your issue to tier 2, you won’t hear from them for mouths, I have a ticket raised where 50% of customers cannot pay online through the online ordering system. The Cash register will randomly stop working and you have to go through a series of steps to restart it. Talech has no answer to this. The biggest nightmare has been the integration between the payment processor POYNT. Unfortunately we are tied into a 3 year agreement. Save your money and headache go with Square or Clover. The only positive thing about this is the easy to use interface.

### 1/5 — Zero stars worst ever for Restaurant Bar

*2020-09-24, version 5.1.0*

All workers hate it. You lose revenue from orders not sending correctly do not get this system it’s horrible

### 5/5 — Very good job

*2019-06-21, version 4.7.10*

Sincerely, very good app, very good customer service. Nothing else to say. If you open a business, try them!

### 5/5 — Feature rich

*2019-06-14, version 4.7.9*

We have used Talech for over seven years now, pretty much from the start. They consistently improve the product. We went from quick service restaurant to a 250 seats with two bars, five iPad stations for credit cards and extra iPads for inputting orders as needed. We’ve also used them at the tables, have online ordering that is integrated, and can check reports on the fly. The cost is so much less than most the other ones out there. Cons: ICMP card readers which are required by our payment processor, but that isn’t a talech issue. Pros: auto discounting only at certain days or hours, easy check splitting or sending an item from one check to another (guest wants to buy an appetizer for another table), online ordering, table maps and assigning multiple roles to one employee (diff rates of pay) and solid customer support.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-01-01, version 4.8.6*

Best iPad POS system for small and medium sized businesses including restaurants and service industries. their service is quick satisfied and they are always there for you

### 3/5 — Fix

*2020-11-26, version 5.2.2*

Here’s a fix if the update isn’t working. Uninstall the app and then try it again, it worked for me

### 3/5 — Take him

*2019-08-28, version 4.8.1*

So so to use good for a food truck, or mom and pop restaurant

### 3/5 — It's good but

*2017-06-29, version 4.3.4*

Easy to set up and use. I'm using it in a full service restaurant and bar and it just gets by. It has horrible security. It's good for a food truck or a food stand.

### 2/5 — Slow

*2019-03-28, version 4.7.3*

Slow credit card transaction terminal. Laggy touch screen after opening from sleep mode.
