It has all the functions you need for sizing conductors including derates for conditions of use and voltage drop. Covers multiple code versions and gives you the appropriate reference for each calculation. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Great App *2013-01-22* Greatest app ever. I have used another company's hand held calculator for quick accurate electrical system design calculations for some time. It was frustrating to carry a 2nd device when I aways had my iPhone with me. This app is easy to use, based on the most recent NEC release and has an excellent manual readily accessible. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to design electrical power distribution circuits and or make sure their installations are NEC compliant. It is just as useful for estimating and creating BOMs for electrical work. The iPad version features a rotating screen for landscape use as well. Not much more to ask for. I have checked the voltage drop calculations on various 208v to 4160v, 3 phase circuits and I have not found an error yet. A 9 watt LED bulb draws .075 amps at 120 volts. This app says that a 9 watt, 120 volt bulb draws 0.043 amps. I’m sure not going to use it to calculate how many 9 watt lightbulbs I can put on a 15 amp light switch ### 1/5 — Over priced *2015-02-14* They could have made this much easier to use by just adding more pages and tables. You can find the info you want in a nec codes book faster than you can input all required info into the app, assuming you remember how and don't have to go back and read manual. ### 1/5 — Stay away *2013-03-24, version 1.4.1* Not user friendly! I would not buy it unless this is done. This is a useful app, particulary if you use it regulary so you know all the key strokes. It has a fairly steep learning curve becasue entering date typically requires memorizing the many key required. ### 3/5 — Uneccesarily Complicated *2014-12-02* This is not intuitive - it works but you have to have the manual in front of you to be able to get the right key strokes to make it work. Not worth the money in my opinion. For $20, you should be able to come up with something not so cryptic. I will use it for derating because I have not found anything better but there are much better apps out there for sizing conduit and voltage drop in my opinion. ### 4/5 — Great calculator for electrical contractors *2012-10-10* Been waiting sometime know for this form of calculator for the iPhone. If you know a bit about use electricians calculators or are willing to learn, this app will save you time. It has up to date NEC references and can point you in the right direction for all of its calculations to allow you to verify accuracy.
