First thought of this app was that it was a mess. After creating different profiles with different effects, the settings do not save on the saber. You then go back into the app to find out that the complete profile has been changed. This is frustrating. Such an expensive tech for it not to work properly? ### 1/5 — Super Buggy *2019-08-13* Just got my EvoFlex yesterday and went to turn it on - no sound or anything. First thought was to get into the app to make sure the settings were good. Went into the app and it crashed on me 4 times. Finally got it to work and it’s like pulling teeth to do any customization. Have a blade color and sound, but want to mess around with the switch settings and other features but terrifies me to make any changes because it takes like 30 mins to get it back to normal (need to keep connecting/reconnecting until back to normal). Great idea, but super buggy and user experience can definitely improve - don’t even know if my setting updates are saving - switch settings especially. Need to play with it more to feel comfortable with it **Developer response:** We have a lot of videos on how to use the app with your saber. Also contact us and we can definately help you out. We are doing an update right away that will have automatic reconnect built in. Both of my electrum sabers look nice but electronics and this app are a load of rubbish. What happened to the update that never came ? ### 1/5 — Seems like a thrown away project *2021-06-24* It feels like we have all been left in the dark with these lightsaber purchases. It is sad knowing we all spent $400+ on buying neo sabers all on the hope that the bugs will be fixed with an upcoming update. The app was never updated and it is basically never even discussed with ES. All theyre trying to do is push more sales onto everyone. Focus on fixing your app and current sabers than trying to pump out a bunch more unfinished, undeveloped sabers. Just made the saber’s effects insanely glitchy; and hardly any of the app’s settings even corresponded to the saber’s. Very disappointed. ### 1/5 — Garbage app that they are not even trying to fix. *2021-05-31* I can’t even begin to explain the amount of bugs in this app. I can barely do anything with my saber at all without the app crashing, or the saber just not listening to me and basically soft resetting itself. Can’t even save profiles so every time i go to use it, I have to set it up which then takes me so much more time because Electrum isn’t even taking the time to fix their app. They don’t care. So much buyers remorse. Should’ve went to saber forge than trust this Canadian company to do it right. ### 1/5 — Hardly works *2021-02-04* The saber itself is phenomenal. Amazing craftsmanship and wonderful quality, but this app is horrendous. Things like changing the color and font work, but when I try to save a user profile, it repeatedly tells me that I haven’t picked something that I definitely have picked. Not to mention the fact that I can barely even try changing the color of my blade without the app crashing multiple times. ### 1/5 — Some things work. Actually, no, they don’t. *2020-11-28* This app is actual garbage. I just got my Scion today and can do pretty much nothing with it. The fact that you need this trash to actually customize the saber is giving me so much buyer’s remorse. It would be great if the app functioned as described, but it doesn’t. And the fact it hasn’t been updated in over 7 months as of this review tells me that Electrum really could care less. Which is a shame because the saber itself is solid. Unless this gets fixed I will not be sending any more business their way. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2020-09-16* Electrum does excellent work on crafting sabers, but the forced unity app completely ruins the experience. If you can get the app to connect, it’s a pain to get settings to even save correctly and perform as expected. Updates to the app are few and far between (5+ months at time of review) and the application is plagued by bugs and usability issues. This wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t the ONLY way to manage the device. Great hardware— abysmal management experience. ### 1/5 — So. Very. BAD. *2020-07-23* Where do I even begin? - The blade profiles randomly change their color chips so they don’t match their settings. Example: Profile 5’s color chip will sometimes show as yellow while other times green or red. Confusing. - Trying to save user profiles either causes many error messages, such as “You haven’t selected a blade profile,” (even though I have) or it causes the app to fully crash. - The app *often times* won’t find the saber, no matter what. I spent $400.00 USD for a saber that I can barely use. Yep, there are build quality issues too, which I’ve emailed three times about and have received radio silence. Buyer beware. ### 1/5 — Non functional *2020-04-14* Pros: saves blade color and settings Cons: crashes, after finely tuning all of the sound settings they will disappear forever, switch pane setting constantly reset, movement and motion settings constantly reset , saved profiles reset, can make the saber turn on and off then have to be manually shut down and turned back on to turn on again. Overall, incredibly shoddy programming. This app was definitely made by a materials engineer and not anyone well versed in coding. With all the issues, it would be fine if it just kept anything saved. ## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Perfect for your saber *2017-04-07* This app is seamless, and makes you feel like a true Jedi, or Sith for that matter, when weilding your Electum Sabercrafts saber. Fast connection, changeable motion and LED settings, battery and connection display, volume control and even the ability to solve together files from your fonts to create your own original masterpiece, all on the go, is just a portion of what makes this app a brilluant necessity for any and all of your Electrum Sabercrafts sabers. ### 5/5 — The Force is with them *2017-04-07, version 1.0* This is a great app bar none. Electrum Sabers is not only making a cutting edge great saber with all the things a master could want but great quality as well. This app goes one better and lets you customise your saber or sabers, because you can have multiple on the app, to do what you want and not take it apart to do it. When I first got the saber I did not know what to expect from the app but wow, what a great combo. Flash on clash, volume, blade colour in unlimited choice and so much more. This app really makes my saber truly custom. Looking for the update soon and can't wait as it will be even better. You have to love the innovation and quality Electrum Sabers has put into their work. They are true masters. ### 3/5 — Some things work, some don’t *2020-03-08* I am able to change by blade color, but sometimes the blade effect will not change on certain color slots. The app never saves my changes to the blade color profiles. I am able to freely change saber fonts, but the app doesn’t save my preferences in this category, either. The app crashes if I try to save a user profile or change the name of my saber. Overall, I am pleased with my saber, but it would be even more pleasing if the app worked flawlessly. I am impressed with the technology, even if it still needs a little work. I hope that they get that work done some day. ### 3/5 — Still a little funky in a D2 *2019-07-11* I’ve noticed the color of my blade doesn’t change in the blade settings on app on the D2 Evoflex, the colors only change when I cycle them through the saber. **Developer response:** Touch the color boxes at the top of the app. That is how you cycle through the colors now. No swipe left or right anymore. Hope that helps. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2021-12-30* This app needs work. Having issues connecting to app frequently. Shows saber yet won’t connect also doesn’t save profiles. Clinchy and needs updating ### 2/5 — No Tech Support Conclusion *2021-01-17* The App will not recognize my fonts that I purchased from Electrum - consequently, I have no effects sounds, only hum, the saber will not turn off on the saber - only by putting it into deep sleep, and I often power it up, only to hear static. Initially level 1 tech was responsive, but all of their suggestions were things I had already tried. I was supposed to be tiered up level 2 tech support and never heard back. Then we came to a resolution of me, to my frustration, having to mail my $500 saber back to them, but yet again, have heard nothing back. Build quality is great but it’s worthless without a working saber. ### 2/5 — Waiting For The Update *2021-01-13* As much as I love my custom saber, the software and the app have a lot to be desired. You had mentioned an update in 2021, and I hope it comes soon. And I hope there will be a firmware update to the diatium 3 board. Quite often, my sabers sound will sound have a static sound as if the speaker is failing. Other times, the saber will boot and it will play a bunch of loud sounds and I cannot shut it off. I cannot save the localized clash feature at all. If I have an unstable setting in red set for one profile and a flicker setting in red for another profile, the red’s I chose for the unstable setting, will become the same reds for the flicker setting. No matter how many times I have tried to save it differently, it always takes the red colors I chose for unstable. I gave you a raving review on my YouTube Channel, but that was before I learned about all of the glitches on my saber. I really want to love it 100%, but with the glitches, I’m only about 60%. ### 2/5 — Having issues *2019-07-10* Got my evo flex July 9. Tried android app first, had so many issues I tried apple app. Worked for a little bit but won won’t recognize saber now even after hard reset of saber.
