Control your colour grading software from your iPad with the element-Vs app. - Ideal for on-set grading. - Ideal as a portable grading panel. - Ideal for training. - Ideal for expanding your real Element panels. The element-Vs is a virtual version of the four panels that make up the Element control panel series by Tangent Wave Ltd. Every panel is presented in exactly the same layout as the real Element panels. All the controls are mapped on the element-Vs in exactly the same way as the real Element panels. What the controls do depends on the grading software you are using the panel with. You should refer to the control mappings for the Element panels provided by your software manufacturer. The element-Vs is fully multi-touch, so you can use different controls simultaneously. You do not need to own the real Element panels in order to use the element-Vs. You can use the element-Vs at the same time as your real Element panels. When you do this the controls will reflect any changes and information that happen to either real or virtual panels. If you do not own all the Element panels you can use the element-Vs to provide virtual versions of the panels you do not own. Communication with your grading software is via WiFi. Given this is a software emulation of a hardware panel it reflects the functionality of the hardware. But being software could be improved by subtle layout changes, and the addition to direct knob labelling that updates based on chosen configuration. That way it could be a more efficient learning tool to encourage upgrade to tangent hardware. Setup is a bit fiddly especially finding the desktop app on the weirdly organised tangent website. This could be improved by (on the Mac side at least using the iPad app to automatically down load the desktop application, then airdrop to the Mac to be installed. Linking could be as easy as scanning a QR code in the desktop app with the iPad. But once set up, it functions flawlessly and easily with the Resolve colour page. And minimally within other pages. Well worth the upgrade from the free version of this app. And while the abscence of haptic feedback lessons it’s utility, one does get used to spinning gui knobs and wheels. And it is more precise than doing the same task with a mouse. ### 5/5 — Amazing portable grading companion! *2021-12-18, version 1.0.3* Really works incredibly well and controls are nice and smooth. Definitely a no brainer purchase if you have an iPad and use Davinci Resolve. Much more portable than a panel and also you can bounce between pages to access additional functions without mousing around. This behaves like 4 different tangent panels in one. Others have said that it’s hard to get it working, but if you go to www.tangentwave.co.uk/tangent-support/ and select Element-VS from the product list you can download a user manual that gives great step by step instructions on how to connect it with your computer and software. И только сегодня узнал об этом приложении. Панель здорового человека это приложение заменяет лишь от части, но таки это на много (очень на много) лучше чем ничего. Особенно ценно это будет когда надо работать не за своим компом а где-то на ноутбуке в лесной избушке 😎 главное прикупить мобильный роутер ибо софтина работает через WiFi. Подключил все минут за 5, а вот с настройками придётся поразбираться. At the lower price, I think it’s a steal for anyone who wants something a bit more precise then a mouse for color grading. Otherwise I do wish you could adjustment the sensitivity of the virtual dials/trackpad. Setting up did require some reading/troubleshooting but it’s been working fine ever since. ### 4/5 — Needs some work but awesome app *2020-11-12, version 1.0.3* I bought this app because I use a Blackmagic Mini panel at work that I absolutely love but I can’t justify the $3,000 cost to buy my own to have at home for my personal projects. The setup for this app was frustrating because they don’t have great instructions, but I eventually figured it out. My biggest gripe with this app is that it needs to be updated for new iPads to remove the black bars on the sides. Also, the Kb page has to be used with the Bt page, which means you end up swiping between the pages a lot and it is kind of clunky. I have a $20 drawing stand for my iPad and I definitely recommend picking up one if you use this app a lot since it puts your iPad at a better angle to use this app on a desk. This is a really solid app to turn your iPad into a color panel for $10 and I like it.
